at least i can get the time off to shoot over your cut rape scooby thanks gents for the kind comments. Teague has gone head strong since Keira turned up but he is only 22 months himself so time for him to get over it. best thing is that he has started to bring to hand since Keira came home so first part of the plan worked. Phil.

no pressure from scooby doo was the key, he was off on the crows so i took the chance to try and get the pup enjoying the games again as since the new pups come along we have all been out of sorts, it was nice to shoot with no pressure and just allowing Teague to run in until he got back into the swing of it. he is happy again at the moment so im going to ease up on him for a bit until he has found his place again in the household.

Popped out to walk the dog and check over some cut barley but on the way i thought i would pop to see some wheat as there was 20 or so pigeons around yesterday. there was about the same in the one sitty tree this afternoon so i thought i would give it a go for and hour just to see what happened and then pop over to look over the barley and look at an orchard that needs the rabbit s controlled on. i got to the field about 4.30 and set the rotary up with flappers and 7 half shells up on bamboo canes. i had two boxes of cartridges in the bag as its all i had as i left the kit in the truck from yesterday but took the brick back in the ammo cupboard. as i was only going to be shooting for 2 hours i wasn't overly worried about the lack of carts. i was set up by 5pm and started to see a few birds coming back in ones and two's but i was greedy and kept trying for the double but my aim was off and i missed too many so started to to concentrate on hitting the things. a steady stream of singles saw me run out of cartridges at 6.45. i was a little worried about me cocker picking up as he is playing up due to a new pup in the house and my lad has just shut down. i needn't have worried as he found 41 of the 45 birds i had shot. we left a magpie and feral in the crop for charlie so only two pigeons lost. this is my best shooting yet for ratio with 45 birds for 50 carts. i wish i had shot it earlier this morning not the best photo as its with the phone. i think i will hit a full day in the week and see what counts. all the best Phil.

plastic bag on a cane in the blow hole near the houses, put it low as not to spook birds that are coming into your hole but high enough to catch the wind. if you need to put a pole on either side of your hide to stop you getting tempted to shoot a bird where the shot might land on road or houses then do so as in the heat of battle you will get tempted. phone local police station and if need be phone the call centre and tell them your there, mention the houses that are near and if you can the name of there road so if there is a complaint and its form the houses they will say the street name and it should flag up to say your there. i dont start before 9am and try to finish around 7pm at latest, i have kids and dont like the noise when there going to bed so i try to be fair to others. good luck and happy banging. Phil

I've been trying to find max-4 advantage for a long time but no luck. anyone have any ideas? Phil.

it depends on the magnet your using, the length of the wires from mag to battery and if your using a speed controller My pinewood will last 7 hours on a 7amp with dead birds but as i start with flappers on it then i get 8 or 9 hours. If im using dead birds from start then i will take the 17 amp and get a full 12 hours with no problems. the smaller battery i buy from toolstation as there as cheap as chips. Phil.

battery life is **** red led on front lights you up like a Christmas tree when your calling basil at night. unless you have a good memory your ******** as you dont know what call is on what button so you press the wrong one at wrong time. not as load as the mk1 even with the extension speaker. i have had all 3 and the mk11 is best IMHO

i can see one charlie getting feed a 22 slug very soon.

Semi is one way to go. forget the extrema , unless you on the geese. the urika is the same but 3" rather than the 3.5" of the extrema. i have had a few semis but not have settled with the U2 as i dont want the recoil jolt to run down the spine, bust up back. as long as you have some thing like the kick off system then you cant go far wrong. there was 2 U2 for sale on here last night for a bargain price, im thinking of getting another one for my son as i love them that much. all the best in your quest for pain free shooting regards Phil.

i had the same one but kept blowing fuses. i bought a magtame one and never had a problem since. i always plug magnet into speed controller first and then make sure it is in the off position before connecting to battery, i then turn the controller on slowly until required speed. this is because its a wiper motor off a car, fast and slow speed for the wiper blades. i use to run my home made on the slower speed. Phil

thanks for the info. my one cocker hates the towel and hates being clean, typical boy i guess. hence the reason i wanted a bit of help with the drying with the aid of the lamp. i wish i had the room for the pair to bed down in the kitchen but its not possible. right i need to go look into one of those things. thanks again Phil.

they normally come with two pairs of colour codes wire, depending on type, but they do have blue and red connectors, unless someones played about with it. red and black from your battery into the red and blue female spade ends and then you plug your rotary onto the other two male spade end connectors. one tip. ok two. first always mack sure the speed controller is OFF before you plug into battery and second, carry a spare fuse
