  1. What a cracking bit of timber you have there. very nice, almost makes me want to change my plastic stocks, well i did say almost. this should be make a sticky as theres great advice and detail on how to. well done Harv LMAO. anyone have a towel to wipe the tea of the screen. Phil
  2. speed controller as it should be then, as malcolm says, swap the wiring from the speed controller to the magnet. give it a quick go to see if its ok. as long as the motor isnt getting to hot then you should be ok. Phil
  3. im going to take a guess here and say shotgun. one at 60 and not taken the one at 30 and not knowing the range. i would also agree with the poster saying about leaving the easy pickings till later and just concentrate on the older ones for now as you might find then mother teaches the young one to stay away from bright lights. still one less to worry the game and lambs Phil
  4. Titan manitou MS020. was my first pre-charge as well. very easy to work on as well. they did a 2 shot convertion for it which made things a little easier. Phil.
  5. Here's from one of my local my candidates I apologise for not having responded to you earlier on this issue. I have to advise that I am not supportive of game shooting due to animal welfare reasons. In particular, I have concerns about the breeding of birds for shooting and the conditions they are kept in. I may be supportive of shooting of birds if there are sound reasons why they need to be culled but I would need to be convinced over these reasons. I am happy to support target shooting. Thank you for raising this issue with me. Yours sincerely Alistair Cameron Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate
  6. Gloucester gun company have as well. dont know what they are for .243 but .222 is £10 per 20. i wanted to reload myself but i dont know anyone close to me that can show me so im stuck with buying them. Phil.

  8. I use to use a Vail all the time but there a pain in the bum. now i use a wide brim musto hat and just keep down until the bird is committed. not noticed any differance in the number of birds *coming in* *coming in*, not hitting, thought i better cover may butt on this one.hehe. Phil
  9. 28grm 7.5 for hide work. i only shoot out to 30yrds(max) and the 32grm 6 for flight, roost shooting and decoyed crows. for some reason the black stuff will not drop as nice as a pigeon. all with a beretta U2 S/A Phil
  10. what lamp and mod? one easy way is just put a butler creek on the front. as long as its solid and not glass, then the light will not cast on the mod. bit of bike inner tube on mod will help as well or, like me, put a mod cover on. a plant pot on the lamp with the bottom of pot cut out also works. another way is to mount the lamp under the rifle. Phil.
  11. if you were closer to gloucester then i would have them both of you.
  12. Thank you Mr Sutton. Look farward to making a few bits up. If you get any more at a later date i might be in again but first i have to deal with these ones. thanks again Kind regards Phil.

  15. Yes please Mr Sutton. All I'm after is a pair. one for myself and one for my pups breeder. great woman who i want to make a priest for to show my gratitude to her for all she has done for me and my little cocker. so if you have pair that i can drill, add lead and then brass or some thing to cap off then yes please. I'll let you choose, nothing special as i don't know if i can do them as never have tried before but its the least i can do for her. let me know what and how and i will sort you some funds out. I'm in gloucester by the way Kind regards Phil.

Phil.
  21. Im still waiting for my invite, he told me about it a long while ago but it was £20 for a few hours so i havent bothered to go there yet, i can shoot 1000yrds on one of my permissions is need be so i saved the money for ammo instead. I might pop over for a chat but leave rifles at home.. Phil.
  22. I had a few before the snow down here but then nothing until yesterday. strange how nature always adapts i guess. Phil
  23. If i remember rightly, lead shot was band in fishing because water birds were swallowing stones to grind their food, lead was being taken in at the same time and "so said" causing bird deaths. is was the swan lovers who started it and the snowball grew until it was band. lead over water, ok its the same thing but lead over land. worse things in the environment then lead shot. once the lead is band you can bet your bottom dollar that they, the anti's, will find a reason for baning steal, then the next heavy metal until we have a full blanked ban on shooting. nibbling away in little corners it all it take to get a ban. Phil.
  24. Out for a few hours yesterday. had a few birds on a hole in the rape. took a long bird, well long for me, dog out and brings back the first squab Ive seen since the snow. anyone else had or seen any yet? Phil
  25. I have a couple of farms that have bear OSR patches so i will have a look at them tomorrow and let the birds build confidence on the linseed. will ask what the pea variety is this year. i have a few on Saturday on the linseed, after opening the crop of 30 birds it was linseed in most with only 2 with pea and 3 with hard maize. half the birds were running on empty. Phil
