done it.... Not been at it long so when i took a walk yesterday and found one farm with a lot of birds on it i knew that someone would do 100+ on it. Made a phone call to bobby dazzler and said to phone a friend. 160 odd shot to the 3 of us and i wasn't going home till i had the ton. got there in the end but i and totally knackered now 100 for me and a lot more cartridges Bobby Dazzler. thanks for a cracking day mate. i hope you and Chris didn't get in to much trouble  thanks again Phil.

Front line here as well. only thing is that you need to keep the dog dry for at least 24hrs or you will wash some of the stuff off. because of this i use the frontline spray as well. it is not cheap at £70 a 1/2ltr but changing bedding and all the hoovering is a pain in the **** i order all medicines from pet-meds and the spray is a prescription item that i get local ( i dont pay £70;) ) Phil

thanks for that. i can talk to the farmer now and not feel s total t1t.lol.

yep same here. with a standard air rifle then im the same, head only. be careful with a breast shot om a pigeon as there crops might be full so you could just injure the bird as the pellet would bounce off what ever is in its crop. could be acorns Phil

^^^Well said that man^^^ My oldest son, 11yrs, asks, what some might see, as the stupidest questions ever and even before you have answered the one he is straight back with another. its his way of working things out in his head. dose my head in no end but he is the top in his year at school and there is nothing i cant ask him that he will not try to answer. I will never knock him for it as it will only knock a young impressionable mind that just wants to better himself and I hope not turn out like me with a shot out brain that cant sting a sentence together what one person might think is stupid shows that they either cant be bothered, haven't got kids or cant be bothered with there kids. I'm new to the pigeons and have read a lot of stuff on here but as I'm getting to know more I'm noticing more and more KBS. everyone is new at every thing some time or other, just some will ask for help where as others sit at the back hoping someone else will ask the question. give others a break guys you never know when its your turn Phil.

same tonight, different place. last bird was 9.30 so i opened it and very very little creamy stuff in the crop. i opened a few more and they were all the same. still....not overly worried as long as that sit still just long enough so eat some lead.
-
mine is just the same. has no intrest, at all, in food when the lead comes out. tennis ball, now thats a different matter. thats what i use instead of a food treat he gets a ball to play with for a minute or two, but only when he had been very good other wise its just a stroke of the ear as he is more interested in pleasing. im still struggling with a few things but every week is moving farward now to patients is needed, so im told. Phil.

shot a field yesterday, looks as though they have been as it a week or so as around the trees they have picked the ears clean. only bad thing is 150acres of the stuff across 7 fields. I opened up a few of the birds i shot and the crops were empty, nothing in them at all, this was 7.30pm when i was packing up. are they eating it straight down? looking at getting on it again saturday, rain depending. 220423949369 Item number for a USA seller. i have been using her for a while now and never had a problem. i have done them before no with all the colours but this last batch i did only with grey and then stray brushed the white and black in to them. but i will redo the white as i think it stands out better with flocking and the backs look better if you can get the brown right as well. i will take a few photos of what I'm doing now if you like and then post them up for you but if you pm me your email address i will send you a couple of word07 docs that the e b a y seller sent me But it is very easy to do. clean any chipped, flaking paint off. if there real bad then take all the paint off them and then wash. i spray mine with a plastic bumper primer to make sure the new paint is going to stick. oil base paint is good but do not use hammerite style stuff as it doesn't work very well. old plastic pot with lid and drill the top like a pepper pot. you need to squeeze the pot as you shake it so that you force the flocking into the paint. i will do a better write up when i do my last few full body pigeons oh i mix the grey and silver together as i think it gives a better colour. 2x grey and 1 x silver works about right for me when using dark grey paint. hope this helps for you Kind regards Phil.

i dont know a lot as im new to it all as well but... dog picks up a dummy and then runs around doing puppy play....he gets this big angry thing chasing him around, once caught he gets told off so next time he runs off for longer and then gets told off again so next time tries to stay away longer.... only what im reading in the books. i have been going to see a guy called Rich Biggs. top man who has helped me no end. something he seid to me about the retrieve. 'a retrieve is only a recall, just the dog has something in his mouth' again im new to it so can only go on what i have been dong wrong and by what im told to do to put my wrongs right. Phil

Labs are a bit easier as less bouncy than a spaniel. my first dog is a cocker as i wanted something small, still not sure if i have done right but time will tell. i know of 2 litles of cockers for sale at westbury on severn so not far from you. all from gamekeeper stock. FTCH history i dont know as i have just been told about them. i will have another one in a few years though. there just so great to be with. (house dog )

still here for sale or swap Phil
-
I have been told, this week. not to clip my cocker as it just encourages the coat to thicken and once you do it then you have to keep doing it. this was from a professional working dog groomer. i was told to brush with the metal spring brush and if need be just brake the seed pods up to get them out. if you cant get them then leave them for a while and see if the dog will get it out. My cocker use to hate being brushed but the wife does it every day and now he loves it, most of the time he just falls a sleep when doing it. time will tell if i ever clip. but i do cut in between the toes. phil.

just make sure you get the right one. there is a few halti items. one if as NTTF said and there is also a harness type as well. the harness stops the pulling by pulling the front legs in as the dog pulls, this in turn stops the front legs moving if the dog pulls harder. i couldn't get this type set right and didn't get on with it but i have seen the muzzle type work very well on one of the dogs over the park. this is the one i think. http://www.companyofanimals.co.uk/halti.php there is also an other type that you might like to consider that is guaranteed to stops the dog from pulling, it works by stopping the feet moving, its made, not by halti but by hilti.
