  6. Today the roof on the conservatory went again so I think it's about time I got it sorted once and for all. My old window fitter said a few years ago it was tired and could do with replacing and put a glass roof on. He said its only 4 window units and French door and then the roof so not to expensive on the walls just the roof. Been looking into it all and I'm down to either Celsius one or Lillington activ blue. Any thoughts or help? I can ask my old fitter as he has pass away so ideally looking for someome I can either trust to fit or someone that can advise on how to measure what I have and order. Than with all the favours that I have been clocking up I might get help lifting stuff into place. Oh! And the good lady wants the sofits and facias done at the same time on the main house. Thank gents for any help or advise offered.

  12. Stripey99 hadn't been out for a while so a quick look around Friday I found a few bird and then sent a text to get of his **** and come shooting Saturday. After a good chat it was sorted. Late start of 10am, he is getting on a bit and likes a weekend lay in. Friday night I popped out with Hendersons Pigeon, also off here, to try my luck at the foxes for a farmer. Well after thinning the numbers by 6 we called that a night at 1am, home, rifle sorted and off to bed I was rather grateful old boy stripey99 had said 10am start. Well 7am saw me up and about so I didn't get a lay in but getting use to no sleep now so no real problem. Got to the feild around 10:30 and was set up by 11:30. Couldn't be bothered to rush about. Well as Mike was finishing sorting out his side of the hide I took the opportunity to drop 4 bird before be managed to stuff a couple of cart in his barrels. Well, the day saw us miss the easy ones and drop the harder ones, loads of laughter and plenty of pee taking. Back to the car for more cartridges, brick of steel and 100 Pigeon carts. Turned out the semi wouldn't shoot the steal so we had 100 normal cartridges between us so made do and in end I sat back watching Mike shoot some fantastic birds. Well time come when there was no more cartridges left and time to pack up. I had forgot to click a number of birds but the numbers on the xlicker said 156 so all in all a God day once again and a pleasure to share with another Thanks for looking in All the best Phil
  13. Had that same last year. I didn't see them but they saw my motor in the field and drove all the way to my house, asked the wife if they knew where my car was. Yes she said. In the middle of a field as I was shooting. That's what the banging was they said to her. They thought it had been stolen and dumped. Fair play to them for checking up
  14. Write your name with the powder on the lawn and light it up. You'll love it
  15. He'll get over it. Besides, by the time he gets on here again this post will be way down the list lol
  16. I have met all the important ones. Plus a few unimportant
  17. Thanks gents. Not been out much of late motty. I take others out and let them shoot most the time now. Only way I can get out at times.
  18. Benchmark burns we as does n130. Running 40g at 3250 works well for me.
  19. Here in the Cotswolds we get about the same 28p but I have a 60mile round trip. All my birds go to the dealer. It's not fair on the ramblers and dog walkers to be finding dead birds all over the place.
  20. First day was easy as I just sat there and watched my stalking partner hit them 4 at a time. Was only out the house for 6 hours. He makes it look so easy. Me jealous, too darn right I am, some people just know where to point the sharp end.
  21. Thanks guys. Very warming comments. I do tend to take people out on them as I do believe in karma and one good turn will one day be repaid in other ways.
  22. Jdog, your right, green. Not garyp. He has a new browning 625 now. Let's just say it is well and truly broken in now, as well as his shoulder. A couple of times I thought he was going to pack up and go home but then he finished a few birds that I missed and got cocky, another 100 cartridges soon shut him up lol
  23. I don't normally hit the same field in such a shot time but being the only on cut in the area and bird still moving in and around I thought it might work a second time. First day was Tuesday, one of my stalking partners was owed a day out so a quick 6 hours saw him put 201 birds on the floor. He had to get away at 6pm just as the birds started to hit hard. Becuase of this I decided a second day would shoot so Saturday saw garyp off here come to try his luck he did. Lets just say his new browning beat the pants out of him. Needs a little more practice but the birds, in all fairness, were very jinxy and wind was left to right and then swinging back to front. Birds worked the wind very well. Also found a cartridge that my U2 will not cycle so I was down to a single shot. It would have been, if both guns where doing their bit, a very big day. I can't moan as realy it was a day for Gary and a day he had. Called it a day at 229 and the birds were still coming in to just dead birds on the floor. Not shooting it again as another gent wants a go so leaving it to him as I think I have given a couple of guys a shooting experience they will remember for a long time. Thank for looking Phil
