    New Volvo V70

Very nice, was considering the current V70 or XC70 when I was changing car last month, it was the fact that new model was imminent that put us off, that and the fact you have to pay near a grand for 2 extra seats to give it the 7 seats we need, we went for a VW Touran eventually, not very exciting but ideal with the 3 kids
  4. Just had look on Ebay, only got Sako quad mags and for a 22lr Anschutz, could always email the seller, got my cz 10 mag for fiver less than local gun dealer, not sure how the Sako and Annie prices compare
  5. Have you tried fleabay? Not sure about Sako or Anschutz but got a spare mag for my CZ 22 on there last week
  6. Had it done last September, took few days off, no problems, just had letter to say I am now officially a jaffa ( after sending 2 samples ) The worst bit is the injection, didn't feel a thing after
  7. Well done Weejohn, Shot this yesterday on the farm, close to a field were ewes are lambing, was out with the .22 after magpies and saw him 50 yard away sniffing round some big bales, got to within 20 yards and dropped him stone dead, I understand that .22 is not a foxing round but at this range there was no way I was going to let him pass, as a farmer who has seen a fair few examples of the carnage they can cause this time of year I did not think twice about the shot
  8. Just posted pic of my Silhouette in sporting pictures, not the 16" barrel though, got a Sound Biter mod on mine, only had it few weeks, very pleased so far but not given it proper test yet
  9. Here's my little lot, from the top - Beretta Silver Pigeon 12g Krupp 16 bore ( passed down from Grandfather,he bought it back from Germany 1945, not sure how he aquired it! ) Weihrauch HW95 "Banshee conversion" ( don't know a lot about this, bought at a steal from guy that shoots on the farm who needed to get rid, barely used but love the wood, hopefully my eldest lad will get use from it soon ) Cz Silhouette .22 ( the latest aquisition, got my FAC beginning of month, got this week later, not had decent outing with it yet, but impressed with target practise so far ) And my lad insisted he put his Webley Tempest in pic too!
  10. Had a field version before current gun, think the sporter was a tad heavier, had a wider rib and thicker recoil pad otherwise not a great difference
  11. Got about 30 out at sea few miles off the coast here near Rhyl, people still complain about them out there, can't see the problem really, they're a lot prettier than Rhyl :look: they look closer than they are the size of them mind, was fascinating watching them being built
  12. Welcome mate :yp: had a Lanber field myself till a couple of years back, great gun, sometimes wish I'd hung on to it
  13. what sort of price did you get on this and from where pm me if you wish Thanks guys, £230 from Valley Arms in Ruthin mate, when I spoke to him this morning he said he'd just sold last one but another 10 due on tues/wed. Said he buys Silhouttes in 10's to give best price for punters. To be honest it would be more convenient to go to North Wales Shooting School in Sealand, but I found that once I'd forked out best part of a grand for a Silver Pigeon they seemed disinterested in any issues I had with the gun so I thought I'd try elsewhere, glad I did, the owner of valley couldn't be more helpfull and really knows his stuff. Hope this helps, should be less than an hours journey for you I guess?
  14. My cert arrived in post this morning after previously having a go at North Wales Police for the time it took to renew my shottie cert they at last seem to have turned things around in there FA department. I sent application off late November, had visit couple weeks before xmas and ticket today. Unfortunately I had promised missus shopping trip to Chester today , but have rang gun shop to put name down on a new CZ silhouette in .22 will hopefully get 17 in few months

    fao today

I can't believe the inconsistency of FEO's in neighbouring countys, to have such contrasting views on 17hmr seems bizzare. As for experience with firearms, I just said I had been shooting with gamekeeper friend a few times, he seemed ok with this

Yet to decide which calibre to go for, would love both but funds/wife dictate just the one for time being, if I go down the 22 route it will probably be a CZ Silhouette, 17 would be a Varmint. .22 is favourite at mo mainly because of it being more or less silent when moderated and obviously a lot cheaper to feed. We don't have a big issue with foxes at the moment, the biggest pest on the farm now apart from bunnies is bloody magpies. The research I've done into the calibre choice on PW has been invaluable, gave me lot more confidence with FEO, hope not too long for cert to arrive

    fao today

Had my feo visit on Wednesday(North Wales), I put in for 22 for vermin control and 17 for vermin/fox control, he said shouldn't be problem to get both, he even said that 17hmr was an excellent rifle for fox control, couldn't quite believe my ears after hearing the differing views on the subject on this forum, all in all he was a decent bloke, less than a month since I sent application, was amazed to get visit so soon
  18. Have a feeling the kids will like that  Although prob won't take 'em long to get pingu to write dodgy stuff!

    Awesome editing

    Now that's impressive
  20. Couldn't care less on Daniel Craig's views of guns. film looks great, me and eldest lad got tickets for Sat afternoon, can't wait
  21. Just in the process of applying for FAC, have filled in what I need to, it's just the question on referee form about my experience with firearms, how am I supposed to have had experiece with firearms if this is an application for a firearm? Are they just supposed to say about shotgun/air rifle experience? Decided to put in for .22 and 17hmr with moderators, spoke to local dealer this afternoon, he reckons N.Wales one of slowest forces to process certs so not holding breath!
  22. Everton for my sins, took eldest lad to see them last weekend, usually only get to go 2-3 times a season, which some might say is more than enough! Good result coming away from the Emirates with a point today mind
  23. Had a TD5 Discovery before current car, had serious reliabilty problems with it, the level of customer service from the dealer was laughable, I swore I wouldn't buy another disco, however, if it wasn't for the price, the disco 3 would probably change my mind, the Pathfinder just seems to be a cheaper alternative, it wouldn't be doing any serious off road duties, use the farm defender for the rough stuff, although not at mo since brother remodelled front end the other day
  24. Just wondering if anyone owns or has any experience with the Pathfinder, have seen a few second hand ones just within my price range, hopefully driving one at weekend, from reviews I've read it seems to be on par with the Disco 3 in most areas but has better economy and reliability, but without the badge of course , hence prices being a bit more bearable, shares engine and a lot of mechanicals with new Navara which would suit me fine but need the Pathfinders 7 seats
