i got the ruger, the 500 and the 600 (mossbergs). though the 500 does get nicknamed the terminator due to the amount of bare metal showing through

ive bought a 7.62x39 sks semi auto rifle in latvia, left it on the gf's brother ticket - the boar are usually taken less than 100m in thick forest, so for safety's sake im going for maximum firepower

think general consesus is .270 or higher, failing that 12ga solid slugs will do the job but maybe not the most effective

it can take a few months for the paper work to get processed, so that might be it. but there should be no reason why you cant see the pedigree history and the parents papers. as for waiting to get the money to register them, i wouldnt go as far as calling him a tight *** blackbart - not sure if youve ever raised a litter of pups but when i did it it cost me almost £1500 between time off work, vets bills, puppy food, etc, so i know i was waiting to get a bit of money in before registering them; also theres no point registering pups that you cant sell (or have to let go cheap) so he's probably going to wait and see how many he sells off as pedigrees before registering them.

Northern Ireland SUNDAY Shooting Regulations??????
Ozzy Fudd replied to mayfly36's topic in General Shooting Matters
dont get me wrong, im not saying you wont need to excercise a bit of common sense or think of peoples reactions when it comes to shooting near houses, etc, on a sunday, but i do that anyway no matter what day or time it is. a couple of years back i was plagued with lampers at my old house. did i care that they were out lamping most nights of the week? nope. my problem was they thought they had a god given right to shine search lights through the bedroom window at 1am, and shoot willy nilly into our land (and towards the house) - not a pleasant feeling having the bedroom suddenly lit up and hearing gunshots from 60m away! slightly off topic, but the point im trying to get across is it comes down to individuals actions. if i wanted to i could bring shooting into a bad light by going out tomorrow morning at 7am, setting up beside my mates house and starting shooting, all perfectly legal and by the book. but even though he goes shooting with me all the time i know what his response would be! we all could do that any day of the week but most of us dont as we use our better judgment and common sense, so why cant we be trusted to go shooting on a sunday? -

im still not seeing how its going to bring shooting into a bad light? as we all found out recently, quite a lot of people already go shooting on sundays (none of them members here, of course...) who dont realise its illegal. i see what you mean about some farmers not wanting shooting on a sunday, but surely thats up to the individual farmer and cant be made into a sweeping description? i doubt anyone would suddenly arrive on a sunday and start banging away if it was made legal without checking with the farmer first. the farmer is under no obligation to allow you to shoot any day of the week. if one of them said to me dont go out wednesdays i wouldnt, one recently asked me not to be shooting for a while as he had a bull in the fields that was a bit dangerous, and i couldnt shoot around the yard that day because they were drawing slurry out,so i packed up and went elsewhere. but if he said to me come up on a sunday, theres a load of crows around i want cleared before the lambing season, or ive lost a trailers full of silage to the rabbits (which happened this year) and i need them thinned asap, surely i should be allowed to do it? -
no he was a zombie

not trying to split opinions here, but i dont shoot game (unless it literally flies in from of me), so can you give me a valid reason why leaving PEST species (crows/pigeons/magpies/rabbits) alone on a sunday is a benefit? but not leaving game out, surely it should be up to the individual shoots to decide whether or not leaving the birds alone on a sunday would benefit them? as for quite a number of shooters wanting to keep the sabbath holy, i dont think there was any talk of forcing them at gunpoint to go shooting on a sunday... was there?! now i was always led to believe that religion was a personal matter (after all ministers and priests technically work on a sunday dont they - they get paid for doing that job, so its work), if you personally dont agree with doing something on a sunday then dont do it - but i fail to see how its fair (or legal) to force your religious views on others?? -

true, many other people share beliefs about keeping the sunday holy, not just the free p's, but does that mean its ok for them to force their religious beliefs on people who dont share the same views? -
