During the Daily Politics programme on BBC2 at lunchtime today, Andrew Neil stated that the French had immediately placed 120000 Armed Troops and Police on the streets across France although centred upon Paris. He reckoned that the United Kingdom would be able to raise a total of 6000. I do not know where he got his figures from but it sure makes you think.

I am not anti FAC at all, they are both different and have differing requirements. If you have read the Government guidelines as you say you have than joining a thread about SGC requirements is a little off piste!

Far too many of these bureaucrats seem keen to interpret the law in order to make things more difficult for applicants. Of course if we just accept whatever they say, we will only have ourselves to blame if we have to endure stricter rules that have no basis in law.

If the applicant fits a cabinet and it is secure and out of sight the fact that the house is unoccupied due to the OP being away with work should not be mentioned as a potential problem.

Hamish If you have a cabinet that is locked and out of sight then you are complying with the law. Once you have your SGC, ask him why he is creating his own laws!

He apparently ran and threw the weapon in to a bin, the place was evacuated and a military Bomb Disposal Team will have been called in to carry out a render safe proceedure upon the suspect package. This will involve rupturing the package through a long axis and then checking what is found. The package may well have been xrayed before the controlled explosion.

Surely the thread title should have been BBC QUESTION TIME BIAS. As usual there is a quick slip in to bashing the BBC on whole, there is no way it can please all of the people all of the time, to believe otherwise is naive. The BBC makes some wonderful programmes and some utter ****, that is why I have the remote control with which to change channel.
