  1. On a o/u the bottom barrel is in line with the stock so the recoil travels straight though the gun and into the shoulder in a straight line and the top barrel is above said line and the recoil from this barrel causes muzzel flip, being on the second shot this isn't a problem. Now with a sxs both barrels are in the same line as an o/u's top barrel giving muzzel flip after the first shot which can cause accquisition (excuse the spelling) problems with the second target. I hope that makes sense.
  2. Hi there, the browning XS is a heavy gun but I won't go down the Side by Side route if versatility is what you're after. Have a look at a Beretta 686, they have a slender action, quite light and multi choke. They're about £1800 new so you should be able to get second hand in your budget, might be worth a look-see.
  3. 3/8 in both barrels......there'll be nothing you can't hit.
  4. Cracking shot matey,......but could you garantee it was a safe one......?
  5. Hi Pilky, on that budget my might just up an old Miroku multichoke....a gun for life..
  6. Really old Eley's....bagged a couple of slabs off a mate.
  7. Welcome dude, I'm just over in Grantham if you need owt
  8. Easiest thing to do is a spill/leak off test, your man should be able to do it..piece of cake. If you still need to extract the glow plugs spark erosion is an option, most machinists/engineers have the kit and it's not that expensive.
  9. I like to shoot clays and pigeons, What the **** are you arguing about religion for? Ok it's off topic but come on, who give a ****. The world is screwed up enough due to religion, lets not involve it in passion.
  10. Hi there, I've been using 21gram 5's through the 20bore on pigeons. Good shell, soft in the shoulder and hit bloody hard.....
  11. Had the same problem with my Teknys, what you need is a bottle of "Shooters choice" they sell it at my local ground(Orston Nr Notts). A few goes through and you chambers will be spotless.
  12. Dude, Don't let it get you down,if you're banging in 21,22,23 etc you know how to shoot and it aint the the gun that's missing the 1,2,or 3 clays it's the nut behind the butt. Shoot the gun you enjoy and have fun.
  13. If you take the high house before centre peg you'll find your muzzles waiting for the low house, so yes maintained lead. If you take it past the centre peg you'll be playing catch up....
  14. Crikey..........how big's your garden.. :look:
  15. Sorry for the confusion,I shoot maintained with the 32" not with the 26", can't help but race off in front with the speed of the thing.
  16. I'm gonna have to disagree that one,I shoot a 32" and use maintained lead. When using the club gun (26" miroku")they move that quick and with no choke,I almost have to shoot at the clays. I've had 3 rounds with it 25,24,25......., the club owner won't sell it to me.......******
  17. When your eye sight is concerned you should get the best you can afford,I use Oakley M frames, but then i've only got one eye. The choice is yours...
  18. That's the kiddy.......Load space cover....
  19. I'm a massive fan of auto's I shoot my Technys at everything but I hear a rumour that at Cpsa registered comps the rules are going to state that your auto must eject downwards or be fitted with a catcher ?
  20. Dude, you just have to take each target as it comes, forget the last and think about the one your shooting at like your life depends on it. Try aligning your cartridges ,anything to keep on the next target.....but never watch the last person who shoots....head down...
  21. The cheapest and most effective way is dry mounting. 20 minutes a night in front of a mirror, it makes a hell of a difference. . .
  22. You could alot worse than a second hand Browning 325 or a Miroku Mk70. Both multichoke, robust and reliable, you can't go wrong
