I have a ruger in .204 I love it. I've taken foxes out to 300yds with it and no issues. The ammo and kit is becoming more widely available. The local shops near me have started selling ready mades and bullets and cases for it. The biggest issue I had was trying to get a cleaning kit for it but Edgar brothers do one now. All in all a brilliant calibre and great fun to boot

What a lucky man you are Clive. It's a good job you caught that carp it may have struggled long term. I used to catch a fair few carp on small deads meant for eels.

I'm glad you both enjoyed it. Seems like good fun. I think I'll try and talk Monika into it. I should imagine your last post will help me persuade her. The prices for the food sound a bit of a joke but I expect it's a bit like with the cla where they get charged so much for the pitch they have to charge an extirtionate amount to try and make a profit. I would also take Monika to see some of the sights as I don't think she has done that in London before.

I suppose what I'm trying to say with the mac is I could afford to pay the £1000 but I would want a good few years use out of it. If they bring out updated versions at the same rate they bring out new iPhones it would probably be left behind in a fe years. If I had a £300 basic laptop though I wouldn't mind having to buy a new one in a couple of years.

I was thinking about a mac and while it's still a possibility as I like shiny things.I'm not sure I can justify paying that much for what I'm going to use it for. Having said that if it lasted a few years and wouldn't be out if date in a year or two i could justify it in my mind to pay the extra.
