i use h4895 in my 243 with sierra 85 gr spitzer i shoot foxes and deer with this combo it works well in my 243 ian

we where out on wednesday nite very cold -4 but dry had a slow nite only 1 vicky came in to the caller

d760 is very good but the raptor x6 is better and get a envies or a pvs 14 with x3 lens as a spotter

its a old middland but shoots well if i do my bit ? the norm a 1/10 twist but a lad i stalked with from down winchester way had a 1/9 twist and would 100/105 grains all day long hole on hole at 100 mts the open ticket bit good luck with that it took me 2 years to get mine but my mate i shoot with had his opened up after 20 weeks and yes defo get a mod for it i like to shoot old school and shoot mine for along time with no mod but now have a t8 on it

last time i got 1000 cci br primmers they where £35 in march(but i am now down to my last 100 not sure whot they are going cost now)

i asked for 25-06 for foxing but N,W,Police would not grant it for foxing so went down the 243 road 90% of my shooting is foxes(it,s dose whot it,s say,s on the tin) very good on foxes (75 grain vmax on foxes)and i found that that 85 grain sierra sp on deer not had any run after they are hit( my gun dose not like 100 grain its a 1 in 10) !!! but any thing up to 90 grain shoots just fine i do reload play with few loads but now stick to whot i,v found thats works in my gun hope this helps IAN

been going for the past 3 years but gave a miss this year my mate past away in the summer who i go with so it will just be me and the lad from now we fished the upper dame at casp allso only had kittens out but my mate had a 142 lbs 2 year back our party had 5 over 150 lbs and 1 at 171 lbs but me!!! was only 68 lbs but had some nice carp out going out for a week next year

no there are two off us that are happy with our 204in the uk i all so have a howa varmint but reload its just a out and out foxing rifle i,m not one for takeing long shots but it,s there if you need to +1" at 100 bang on at 200 3" drop at 300 not that i do a lot of shooting at 300 mts

when we had our log burner last year there was a lad selling them for £45 per 1 ton bag (we had 2bags of him)but had to pick them up for that ( but now get all the scrap wood from work)

i know its not much help but if you are up this way i will take you out for some shooting with 22 and 17 hmr ( i like to help some one that needs it now and then )ian

yes it,s a very nice gun my 1st daystate ( i have a hw100 )will have a look to see if it as easy to strip it mite be some thing simple ?? and will save me a few ££ it just needs taking up a bit ian

(my local gun shop in wrexham i would not let them wash my car) i drive 20 miles to 1 i use next time i go in will take it with me and let them have a look or mite take a trip to daystate

just had a daystate harrier x 22 given to me (happy days) the only fault with it is its low power (8.1 lbs) at 150 bar is the best i can get out of it would like to take it up to 11lbs if any one can help ian

i,v gone down to 32 grain noslers find them better on foxes than 39 bk and 40 grain vmax had a runner with 39 bk (poor shot by me )run 40ish mts but was dead when we got there ( but to be fair i have had a runner with my 243 you are going to get this now and again ) just find the noslers open up a lot more these are home loads

we have a licence to take 12 a year off the water i run !! bit of a joke i have 7 on it at the same time lot more about over the last 6 years thats how long i,v been chairman ( i would like to see a free for all on them ) but thats not going to happen

got mine on a dimmer but it does sound a bit tinny if the cable rubs over it i shoot over a red or amber filter

nosler 32 grain heads over 28 grains of h4895 br primmers 39 grian sbk over 28.2 of h4895 i worked up to this load and the same with 40 grain vmax br primmers nosler shoot the best out of these 1" grouping at 200 which is not bad for me!!! 2.5" drop at 300 very good on foxes hope these helps ian
