  1. I really love the way pigeon watch expands my mind. Getting back to Zapp's original post I've just learnt the human body has over 50 sphincters. I think the way the most commonly referred to one is treated is racist to all the others and I may start a sphincter awareness group to highlight the individual plights of all the others. Thank you Zapp for directing me to the only worthwhile part of this topic thats worthy of discussion. Hatstand.
  2. Does any body know if Fudies on Walmgate in York is still there? I am trying their number (01904 654232) but it's saying "number not in service". I am after some zebra or buffalo steaks for the weekend if anybody knows anywhere within an hour or two of Huddersfield. just out of interest would you please do the poll. Thanks Chaps Hatstand.

Hi there TJ91, Remember me I bought the nets off you, hope your doing fine, I was in a similar boat to you and to cut a long story short I went to Hungary and had all my front teeth crowned. A couple of extractions and a few more minor bits. It took a week which was relaxing and you only pay for what you get on the plane with. All injections, x rays, temporary crowns and fillings were free. The professor who did it was part of the team who invented implants, top notch dentist. Cost me £1500, the quotes here were £4000 to £6000 pound. Nice digs to stay in just have to amuse yourself while your there not having treatment. I felt no pain at any time and they are quite liberal with the pain relief which was nice walking round the forests afterwards watching the wild boars with a daft smile on my face. Also Hungarian women are super sexy and quite welcoming when they find out your not Russian. I can't wait to go back again when I need something else doing. PM me if you want the details or just what some more advice. Hope it all works out, Hatstand.
  4. They are made of zirconia. I believe only diamond is harder. I know a fish monger who uses these. He likes them, doesn't taint the fish. Bone will chip it though and can only be sharpened by sending it back to the factory which he hasn't had to do and he's had it a few years. They have to be looked after and you need to quite specific about what you use them for. Hatstand.
  5. I've printed some pattern sheets on paper.(32" X 38") Shame I'm not nearer. Give me a shout if your ever in West Yorkshire and I'll give you a few. They really helped me in understanding the spread achieved. Its the one single thing that improved my scores the most on the clays. Hatstand.
  6. UK Poacher, thank you i see your point about the press. Fuddster I will take your word as a gentleman, Thanks for the update, Deep down I couldn't really believe this happened as has been reported. Thanks chaps. Hatstand.
  7. I wish i knew all the facts about this but i don't. I hope its all rubbish as its quite sickening to think what has been reported could of actually happened. I am only going on what was printed in the York paper, and what has been posted on here and a few horse websites. What has got me thinking the details are spot on are the amount of police officers on this forum and other forums who are saying its rubbish.
  8. There's a lot more to this story than has been told so far. Fuddster were you there or just making out you were there? This is what people who were watching have said. There was four horses in a private field. Two were shot, two were left, Don't know how they deemed two needed destroying and two could be left alone but I wasn't there. Apparently Horse and Hound magazine has obtained pictures of the bodies, One with two shattered legs which took a while to die. Witnesses have also stated they told the police not to chase then shouting as this wouldn't achieve anything but scaring them. But they carried on any way. There were "loose" for days not hours as reported by the police. Is it just me or does it seem that every time the police draw weapons they have to lie to hide criminal activities?

  12. Hi Chubbs 45, Could you please tell me the internal height of this cabinet. Thank you, Hatstand.
  13. I drove through Bradford city center yesterday and I don't see why their afraid of rioting and looting and the burning of shops. Its probably the only place in the UK that would look better after a race war.
  14. I went to Hungary for some dental treatment. The professor who did my teeth was part of the team at Budapest university who invented implants. Top of the line equipment, some of it not even available on Harley Street. I did my research first then chose him. Implants are £500 and and you wont get better in the UK. You only pay for what goes home in your mouth with you, xrays, injections, temporary crowns all free. The money you save on dentistry you can spend in the woods shooting wild boar. The forests are incredible, so many boar, huge packs of them. I saw deer there too that were massive, incredible specimens. My first trip to Hungary and it opened my eyes. A beautiful country with really nice people once they figure out your not Russian. Am looking forward to going back for some shooting when I next need some work doing. I think the hotel was about £30 a night self catering. Hope this helps, Hatstand.
  15. Went shooting with Ash243 on Friday. Had a fantastic day, really enjoyed myself. Learnt so much about pigeon shooting in a few hours, a real pro. Ash is a great chap and I can not thank him enough for the day he offered. The farmer cut the crop we were on but the chance to watch the partridges and hares running about so close was something I have never seen before and a real treat. Just about to have some of the pigeons we got for tea. Let the good times roll. Once again Thanks Ash, Great day. Hatstand.
  16. I don't think there's anything in there that may be helpful to the Taliban in an intelligence way. The Taliban on the ground will already know where the foot patrols will have to walk and the roads the vehicles have to travel on. The Taliban won't be bothered about how many civilians have been killed by accident. I see it as a historical document. Just the facts. 15,000 reports have not been included in this report which may have intelligence value to the enemy. Its up to the individual, either read it and understand the fragmented way this war is being fought or watch the news and question nothing. Hatstand.
  17. Here's a link to the American Afghan War Diary if any bodies interested. Can take a while to load but all engagements are on it with maps, dates and descriptions. Very unusual for something like this to be available when the war is still going on. http://wikileaks.org/wiki/Afghan_War_Diary,_2004-2010 Regards Hatstand.
  18. As long as it's not protected the following should work. 1. Open the PDF document and display the page that contains the text you want to copy to Word. 2. Click the Text tool on the toolbar. 3. Click and drag to select the text you want to copy, or (if you want to select all the text) click once in the text area and press Ctrl+A. 4. Press Ctrl+C to copy the selected text to the Clipboard. 5. Switch to your Word document. 6. Press Ctrl+V to paste the contents of the Clipboard into your document. This transfers the text to your Word document. It is only the plain, unformatted text, but you can now work with it in Word. If that doesn't work message me and I will give you my email to send it to and I will have a go for you. Hatstand

I'm sorry UKPoacher but I've seen it happen numerous times. Granted not in this country, some American police forces have scent tracking championships,it's a very big deal, Only bloodhounds though, nothing else cuts the mustard. Did you just track scents with your dog? I also think asking a dog to track a car as in the american sniper case is a bit unfair on the dog unless it can drive, maybe thats why you see dogs with their head out of car windows. In woodland this is how other countries do it, cheap and effective. As for Bin Laden, There's the memoirs of a man in charge of Delta Force you should read, 120 Delta Force and 30 or so SAS had Bin Laden in a 2 km grid five days after 9/11. The word came from the top to relax the perimeter and leave the area, He's still angry about it now, He thinks now that if they would of caught him then their would be no excuse no carry on the War on Terror. So its not really a dogs fault Bin Laden is still out there. The Uni bomber lived in a hut in Montana and sent bombs through the mail system, which I don't think falls into the same kind of tracking as woodland scent tracking. Regards, Hatstand.

On a more serious note it seems that incidents like these are handled with the media in mind. Also you can tell who ever is in charge is very scared of messing it up. Almost like they see it as a promotion chance. This must be frustrating for the officers on the ground. But if fifteen police forces and the RAF can be given the runaround for a week by a man 300 yards away from his car hiding in a open drain, then its probably time we faced up to the fact that these professionals have lost the plot. I've lived in America and Israel and have seen many a manhunt. Raoul Moat had this been in America would of been apprehended an hour after leaving his car by two Sheriffs with AR15's and a man with a bloodhound. The cost of this operation must be millions for which we have to pay, I sometimes think the police forget that. And ultimately their effort to arrest him failed. Intelligence was there that he was going to do this and it wasn't acted upon. A very sad episode for all involved. We all know no lessons will be learned from this which after the loss of life is the saddest thing of all.

I was bemused by the armed response BMW running into the dog van. Clowns. Hope the dogs were okay.
  24. Does the above lady really think a fugitive is going to stroll across open country side in the middle of the day. All the gear, no idea.
