    Oasis

I thought they split up in the late nineties. Anyway, they are hasbeens and have been for a while, I doubt anyone cares about them now.
  2. [shameless plug]I suggest the setup I have for sale, will cover all scenarios, the round is a bit more popular than the .270, plus it's as new and only £700 for the whole package[/shameless plug] :yp:
  3. I couldn't agree more with the above posts. Although a correctly placed headshot would be sufficient, airguns are extremely limited in their range, and shooting a hare that size with a 12ft/lb gun is a bit wrong IMO. But perhaps the most worrying thing here is that the shooter assumed what his target was, instead of being certain. And on a side note, how the heck do you mistake a humongous hare for a rabbit?! Even if only the head was in view.
  4. I use a Lee turret press, makes as good ammo as any other. Never had any issues with it and I've always produced ammo that shoots sub MOA in my rifles.
  5. Sportsmatch do a CZ rail adapter, don't think they have built in MOA though. Are the turrets on the Viper resettable? How much internal adjustment do they have? Can't say I know much about them. I'm sure there's a mount out there that will work.
  6. You need to get bases that have MOA built in. I have 20MOA bases on my Howa .308, allows me to get up to 1000 yards. What bases have you got on the 550? If they are dovetail, you may need to get a Picatinny rail adapter.
  7. When I first applied for my licence, North Wales Police 'lost' all four of my photographs. So that cost me another fiver at the photobooth, another visit to the Docters to get them signed, and another few weeks time. They also forgot to put .38Spl on a variation for me, sent it back and they did it quick fair play, but still another cost of recorded delivery. This was a few years ago though and NWP have really improved, they are quite fast at the moment.
  8. You can get a WildDog thumbhole for the T3's now, pricy though.
  9. I used to live there, minus the Beretta though
  10. Gwynedd Firearms Bangor, they have a bit more on display than Valley Arms or Fieldsports Equipe.
  11. Sounds like a great evening
  12. All good advice above, and remember, some guns do require a good break.
  13. As long as the thread sizes are the same then you are good to go. Just make sure your FAC allows it.
  14. Well I tried the American Eagle ammo this morning. Bit disappointed. It's more consistent than the Thunderbolt, noticably more recoil, but it gave me plenty of stovepipes Accuracy was about the same. Out of 50 rounds got a few dull pops too. So Thunderbolts, although audibly inconsistent, still give me the best reliability in my 10/22 so far. This morning I fired 100 Thunderbolts, not one stoppage, and out of 50 American Eagle, I lost count on the stoppages I had.

    Baikal

I break more clays at my club with my Baikal O/U than a lot of guys do with their £2000 Berettas and Brownings. You should see the looks on their faces
  16. I did finally get round to buying a .22 bore snake, but sometimes I like to use a rod and give it a good 'ol scrubbing, and if so from breech to muzzle rather than the other way around.
  17. I have a Hawke that I bought new for £55, my first budget scope and what a cracking little scope it's turned out to be. Been hunting with it at 6am and low light performance really surprised me!
  18. I just find the 10/22 a hassle to strip compared to other semi rimfires out there - unscrew barrel band, unscrew action screw, drive out two pins, take bolt and oprod etc out. Then if you want to clean the barrel from breech to muzzle, you have to take the V block off. I guess I should just drill a hole in the back of my reciever. Each to his own, but personally it gets on my wick. I have a Butler Creek Hot Lips mag, which never works properly, but Steel Lips and factory mags run fine.
  19. I've had my 10/22 for 3 1/2 years now, I've never been quite satisfied with it though. I've never liked Ruger as a company due to Bill Ruger supporting and partly instigating the 10 round mag limit in the US (Bill's dead now and the ban is no longer current), anyway it put me off the company. That aside the 10/22 is a good rifle. There are thousands of parts available, and I'm sure you'd find something you'd want to change on it. I got the standard rifle and after a week I got sick of the bolt release and changed it for an automatic one. They need to be kept clean and like a lot of .22's are ammo fussy. After 3 years I got fed up of the 7 1/2lb trigger pull and have ordered a hammer to reduce the pull. I'm seriously thinking about changing mine soon. All I say is, if something else is taking your fancy, think what you'd need to spend to get the 10/22 up to the same spec. Oh and one more thing, compared to other rifles, they are a blooming nuisance to strip down for cleaning. Most people say they do like their 10/22's, but most also say that there's something about them that they are not satisfied with, yet they can't put their finger on it. Browning Buckmark would be a good one to look at.
  20. Bangor Rifle club (tunnels). Where the heck is Dyserth again?
