  1. Talk about creatures of habit, got home at 13.33 today and who was sitting there waiting for me, same fox again. Identical time to last sighting!! Condition still terrible, obviously mange, bare skin visible in part, and just look at the tail!!! First sighting Enlargement of First sighting Strolling off!!

  3. It isn't going to be ALL electric. This is a common falacy. That is most certainly the direction the Government seems to be pushing us, but there are other options which remain totally legal, ask Jim Radcliffe! There are many hurdles of manufacturer and disposal of the batteries which are being pushed to one side at the moment, they are nasty things, and are nowhere near as environmentally friendly as we are being told. Recharging is a joke, especially in very built up areas with large numbers of Terrace and High Rise properties. And of course the electricity has to be made, currently with fossil fuels, gas and Nuclear, with a relatively small amount through wind/water/solar/etc, so that is hardly environmentally friendly either. Wherever we end up, Electric is NOT currently the UNIVERSAL answer, there are many hurdles to be overcome yet, technology may well make it viable in future, but far too many pitfalls to make it the answer currently. FAST chargers may well help you get back on the road quicker, but will destroy your battery pack faster!! And lets not forget the inflated initial outlay!!!!

    Daylight Fox

Lots of foxes my way, see them regularly from evening to early morning, but very rare to see them daylight. This was 13.30 yesterday, whilst it looks young, it isn't, it is a fairly elderly vixen is terrible condition, hardly stopped scratching all the time I was watching her. Turned up in my garden from the field at the side and steadily worked down my Close. ,
  5. Barrel length, barrel condition, moderator, specific ammo, etc will all have an effect! The chance of any BDC/Calibre Specific Scopes being spot on is virtually zero, may just put you in the ballpark!
  6. Anyone involved? It seems a bit of fun so I thought I'd invest in a magnet and a bit of string! eBay has plenty of choice, it seems pretty straight forward, any hits and tips please? Cheers
  7. This is going round in circles!!! IF, the doctors report is incorrect, then the doctor should apologise and correct it promptly. IF not, someone's friend may not be telling the whole story! no he hasnt seen the doctors for it You don't have to visit a Doctor for this, he can make that call and enter notes in your file if he so deems at any consultation!!!!!
  8. There is no bar to people of any colour entering the shooting world in this country, but the simple fact is there are very few. Just because someone knows someone doesn't change that. I have been shooting at Bisley for over 50 years, and involved with Fieldwork for nearly that long, it has been mentioned several times over the years how few people of colour (or whatever term we are meant to use these days) seem to be involved in shooting. There are FAR more women to be seen than people of colour!
  9. That is bonkers, he is allegedly an expert and seemingly doesn't have a clue how red dot works!!!
  10. ??????? Where are they all then, something that has been commented on more than once is, spot the dark face at any visit to Bisley, very few on the ground!!!!!
  11. There is no reason why not at all, but frankly, I wouldn't want to be taking a rifle apart every time I put it away.
  12. ?????? Certainly has the ability to be so, but can be mitigated by using the correct type of .22LR ammo for the job you are doing (.22lr isn't a 1 job does all ammo, probably more types/weights of .22LR, or compatible, than any other calibre), and actually hitting your target!👍
  13. Thanks for input everyone. Managed to get the main problem fixed by a very clever guy on the south coast! Indexing is a known problem with Falcons, and I am now the owner of 2 x SMW magazines, which work great and solve the indexing issues! Feels like a new gun and a joy to use again, so £1.5-£2.5k on a new FAC Air can wait a while!!!!! 👍
  14. Scopes get very personal, as does preferred magnification!!! Just get something with enough magnification that suits you, and is clear, there is absolutely no need to spend a fortune. There are some very good optics at very sensible prices these days. 👍
  15. They are very different!!!!!!!!!!!! I simply don't see it as either/or!! I use .22LR, HMR and WMR, whilst there are areas of overlap, they are different tools and do different jobs. I need them all, and wouldn't be without any!! PS. and whilst HMR has a reputation for wind drift, the .22Lr is actually worse, but never seems to get a bad press for it!!!
  16. For general field use I don't think you can beat a CZ! Triggers are better these days, but any can be easily sorted for a few pounds. Sako/Anschutz/etc. etc are great, but do you need them for the field???????????????? 👍
  17. I've tried everything, so have several clever people including Falcon themselves, at the Game Fair many years ago, they sent me a new wheel and even that didn't work. Had another so called expert look at it about 3 years back and simply got a bill for nothing.
  18. Great!! Have you removed your indexing wheel??? Ok, if logunator can fix my other issues we may be in business then, and I may be able to salvage mine, rather than starting from scratch and buying a new FAC Air. This is just one tool in the box, it doesn't get a great deal of use, but I have a few jobs it is essential for, I feel lost without it already.
  19. I have some issues with my Falcon, but one BIG issue is the indexing problem. Have any of you tried these, apparently they do away completely with the OEM Falcon indexing system and are completely independent. I don't quite follow how, but if they work that is a big problem solved with mine! Self Indexing Nylon Magazine for Multi Shot Falcon and RWS Air Rifles – SMWEngineering
  20. Yes, he's been back to me, having a chat later!
  21. I'm looking to get it fixed, it has a couple of issues, not sure if this will be possible or cost effective, so thinking it may be time to invest in something newer. No sure, but I seem to remember my Falcon is about 5.8 lb, someone will know, whatever, it is very light!
  22. I had one of those as well, I had 2 x FAC Air, sold the Rapid about 8 months back, how daft is that, so gone from 2 to none! Rapid is great and likely to last a long time, but I'm looking for more modern technology now! 👍
  23. On board reservoir, and skeleton stock, so yes, it is very light. At 28Ftlb I get about 32 full power shots, its beginning to tail off there, but that's 4 full mags and is ok (I could do with a few more just the same).
