JD whenever Steveyg turns up the pigeons have a day off, so I think he's been cursed, if I can get him excorcised tomorrow, we may have a decent day out on Thursday,( watch this space). Set up on a field of wheat stubble yesterday, had about an hours shooting when a tractor appeared, and started collecting the bales, pigeons took no notice and still came in, at the end of the day picked up 173 pigeons, and 4 crows. Steveg, you were better off going to work, than coming out on a bad day like this. Never mind there's about 200 on the rape stubble by your house, and about a 1,000, on another field not far away. Lets see if we can get together on Thursday, and beat your best ever day yet. atb mate picker up.

still got along way to go to beat our best ever day, 430 off rape stubble, 4 years ago, (never going to beat that), no matter how hard we try. Steveg checked the fields I shot yesterday, and at least 300 back on 2 of them, not a mile from your front door, also there's 6 fields of rape waiting to be cut 1 field from the end of your road, so we may beat your best ever day yet. it's just a case of being free on the same day.

checked some rape stubble not far from home, saw about 30 pigeons feeding, thought it was worth ago set up at 11am packed up at 730 with 172 in the bag, lost another 10 in the brambles. shot 11 doubles, a very enjoyable afternoons sport.

One good thing about being old and retired, you can get out anytime, well that's if the management of this house gives her permission. atb pickerup.

Set up on some barley stubble at 2pm, pigeons just kept coming in, by 7,30 picked up 122, best bag so far this year, not bad for an afternoons sport. atb pickerup.

Not all benelli's have stepped ribs. new ones come with shims so you can alter the drop and cast of the stock, if you buy 2nd hand, make sure it comes with the shims. LOP get a gunsmith to fit a spacer between stock and butt pad. or a thicker butt pad. Shells, 65mm or 70 mm no problem, 3ins 3s 4s or bbs on foxes. Brand, i use any make of shells i can buy cheap, they all work. Have a look at benelli centro some of them have some nice woodwork. If your anywhere near stratford on avon, you can come and try mine, any time.

Ive had benelli's for over 20 years never let me down yet, clean the barrel after use, and the insides once a year. spares, never needed any. recoil, hardly any different to a gas operated auto. shells, i use 7/1/2 or 6s on pigeons and BBs on foxes will take up to 56 gram shells, what more do you need, buy one you wont regret it.
