Oh Dear, someone else who either cannot read or understand what has been written. I have never whinged about having to drive to shoot clays, I have never needed to drive far. I have several shoots within 10 miles of my house every sunday throughout the summer and more if I want to go a bit further. My beef is and always has been with the organisation or REGISTERED events and why Essex is one of the largest counties in the country yet their clay shooting team selections and all other shoots are held OUTSIDE the county. I do not expect anything on my doorstep and frequently drive to Bisley to shoot target rifle. JUSTIFIABLY moaning? I didn't hear anyone from the south moaning when the shoot last year was held 215 miles away, DID YOU? I also never heard Smig moaning that the shoot was the other end of the country to where he lived, DID YOU?

HTF is that back on point? Sounds more like a drunken ramble, isn't is a bit early on a monday morning to be drinking? It has been said time and time again, if you think it is too far stop your whinging and don't bloody well come. I am sure that for everyone who drops out there will be someone nearer who will come. This shoot isn't exclusive to those who went last year, anyone can come.

You reckon? I really couldn't care less if people aren't going. I just think it is fairly lame whinging and crying about the distance. The people from the south (and true north) did many more miles last night and noone moened then. If you don't want to go because it is too far and the tram only goes as far as the end of the next road then don't go. It could be held at my local ground and I would still stay in the nearest travel lodge as it was a laugh last year and I don't suppose this year will be much different.

May I suggest you pay more attention at school tomorrow morning? Hodnet was 215 miles for me last year. Was Hodnet really 215 miles for you last year? I really don't think so Sporting targets is 101 miles. for me and I doubt it is much further for you so that makes it more central doesn't it?

Really? I have not been to one yet. Anybody at anytime is welcome to take one of mine and examine it. The only thing they will find is it will perform better than most cheapy clay loads on the market today. I assume that these Refs who take cartridges to examine know what they are talking about ballistic wise and have all the necessary equipment to show is a cartridge is illegal or not. As for overpowdering etc, you need to be a "Special" kind of nutter to do that when it is all happening inches from your face/head. In my 20 plus years of shooting I have only ever had 4 cartridges fail, 3 of those were factory loads. 1 was my own and it didn't have any powder in it. So apart from leaving the wad in the barrel there was nothing dangerous about it. I do believe that 24gr kill well, but like I and others have siad before where does it end?

Does that happen now with people sneaking in 32gr loads? I had been loading 24gr loads as my homeloads and have not noticed any difference in scores. I have gone back to 28gr loads as I am making my own shoot and they load better. 24gr loads break clays well, no doubt about it but where does it end? If we carry on then we will soon be shooting 18gr loads as they are "Better for us"

There is a large amount of sod all about here at the moment. Too much fresh water and sprats about for cod to gorge on.

We could have a Hetro V Benders comp. Mind you the teams would still be the same Hetro (SOUTH) V Benders (NORTH) :lol: Even if I was shooting on my doorstep I would still book into a hotel for the crack. Last years was legendary.
