And they are not classified as VERMIN. You may shoot them under the terms of the general licence but they are still Geese. Which is why you have to use Non Toxic cartridges in England. Anyone looking to shoot anything should really know the laws that apply to them.

I have just broke wind, it smells like rotten eggs. Will I lose my SGC?

That is good to hear as I have just bought a slab of these in plastic wad. -
Seriously a sign of being a homosexual.

It would be impossible to tell from a photo. Both my springer have almost identical pedigrees and are entirely different. Do you not have any papers?

I will support any charity bar the RNLI, they have almost as much money as the church and waste more than the labour party. Although going by recent experiences with my Mum then any Cancer charity would be an excellent choice

Funniest post today, well done Jim, You have not mentioned the extra cash you need for gaffer tape, cable ties and jubilee clips to hold it all together.  is yours still going after the 100 or so cartridges it had through it in a few hours at 3 acres?

I believe firmly in evolution, Religion is a load of poppycock. And I enjoy shooting so I need guns

Have you tried steel shot? Is it as effective as lead?

He would at the "Fences" -
Either or, The fact that the stocks are adjustable means that you can tweak thingss around and try different configurations. Remember shooting is like sex, if it hurts you are doing it wrong.
-
Both my target rifles have adjustable sights but they are still adjusted to suit me. The adjustable sight is nothing to do with the fit, it is where the bullet is going they are adjustable for.

This is very true, I even heard a rumour that he is in A class now

This is quite funny for a friday morning, both of the above posts bang on about gun fitting being unecessary and then go on to describe gun fitting. As for having a gun that "Shoots to the point of aim" L M A O at that one. What use is a gun that doesn't? Why compromise on a gun that doesn't quite fit? You spend hundreds or thousands on a gun and then won't spend the extra hundred or so having it checked and adjusted if necessary? I agree that most guns suit most people but there will always be exceptions. You might like a second hand gun that someone else has had altered and it doesn't fit you. It doesn't really matter because they can be altered to suit. I bought my F3 because I wanted one, the fitting was done afterwards. I just bought the one in the shop I liked the look of and felt better than the rest.

It means on ground that is covered by 4 consecutive tides. Basically outside of the sea wall. Not on ground that is below the HWM. But yes, If you shoot wildfowl you should know this :P

******* hell, haven't you lot got something better to do? OH MY GOD shock horror, Gamebore clear pigeon are actually green. Anyone on here who isn't an anal retard give a ****? I don't know what to be more amazed at, the fact you asked the question or the fact that Gamebore managed to get a reply to you without ******* themselves laughing. It is only a plastic tube after all

I think the reason noone from clay shooting has been involved is because the RSPB/WWT do not care about clay shooting. This attack on their behalf is very much focussed around the lead shot that may or may not be ingested by birds. And they have tagged on the eating of shot game on as a last ditch attempt. As I have said before, with Gamebore wheeling out GD to tell us all how good steel is clay shooters don't need anymore enemies. I see noone has stood up and said he is talking out of his *****, have they?

I bet you have a pair of white trousers and a tunic and have various strings of bells and ribbons though don't you? Morris dancers, they may look camp but you never see them dancing anywhere other than outside a pub do you?

MC replied to semiautolee's topic in General Shooting Matters
That is actually bang on, I have used nearly every make of steel shot cartridges and have to be honest, the stuff loaded to CIP regulations is poor. I have used 100's of Remingtons loaded in the states and it is superb. Gamebore are without doubt leading the way for the british manufacturers but still with their hands tied by the idiots in brussels what chance do they have? I have not as yet loaded my own although I think that will come for next season. -

That is right, unless the lake is designated a SSSI then you have to use non toxic for shooting anything. -
Eley 8ga Bismuth? Not looking for rocking horse **** and hens teeth as well are you? Did Hull ever load tin shot? I know Gamebore did and I had some up until a few weeks ago. They were useless on ducks but broke clays well

David, Is BASC aware of any "sound, peer-reviewed science" against the use of lead shot? As Poontang has already said the LAG seem to be very focussed on the alternatives instead of the solution. Everybody knows that steel is the only economically viable alternative even though it is inferior to lead. However it is being slated every which way you turn. I use it because the law says I cannot use lead to shoot wildfowl, however I have been wildfowling long enough to remember using lead. I used to use standard 1 1/8oz loads of 5's for ducks and possibly 3's for geese. Now I am having to use High performance steel loads to get anywhere near the performance of lead shot. Whether steel ricochets or not isn't really the point. The point is lead shot really is the only way for shooting to carry on, if lead does get banned then it is a slippery slope for shooting as steel will be next as everyone is saying how bad it is and how badly it performs.
