  4. Daft Question - What's a muzzle brake, what does it do...?? :(
  5. After reports today that the RAF were going to train pigeons to carry out boming raids in WW2, I for one will be alittle more carefull when out in the field. Homeoffice guidline dictate flack-jackets to be worn in hides, Deako is to launch a new line in 'Real-tree' flack-jackets and helmets :yp: Adds an air of danger doesn't it
  6. I was interested in a Falcon FN12 .20, I read that you only get around 30 'full power shots' (12ftlb) is that correct....doen't seem much atall
  7. BOLTA, I'd love an FAC air-rifle and rimmy, but I shoot the land through a 'vermin irradication' club. Who won't be my 'good reason'. And I very rarely see the farmer, so I'm alittle unsure he'd sign the ticket of a stranger :yp:
  8. After getting back into Airgunning, and quite enjoying the change from the shotgun. I am in need of clarification... I own two air rifles, AA s410 .177 Webley Axor .22 (6 years old) I have used both in the last few weeks against the growing bunnie population. I really can't get on with the .22 trajectory, I struggle to hit with it, and don't trust it. The .177 is very accurate, but on impact fails to kill the rabbit, I end up chasing them round the field or looking down the burrow after them. So, Impact energy is what I need to drop the rabbit cleanly...Which is gained from weight and speed of pellet. Crossman premier do a pellet, in .20, at 15.0 grains which is not far from .22. Am I wrong in saying this will have a flater flight than .22 and still retain more energy than a 7.9grain .177 I'm interested in your comments, is this how it works or am I missing something :yp:
  9. Gosh, bet that was a hit with the laaadys. :yp:

    Rimfire

PB take your no. off :yp:
  11. I've currently got some H&N F&T which are alittle heavyer than the crossman, will these be better in .177 in terms of terminal vilocity??
  12. F.M Helps alot, thanks. :yp: I was thinking of .177 Powerpells - will this do the job at 35m ?? P.s the rifle is fitted with a bipod, what is the best range to zero it too ?? Most of the fields are quite open so no real set distance to see the little ******* at.
  13. I am thinking of getting back into 'air-rifling' a farm which I recently aquired has a bunny explosion. I have two pcp guns 1. .22 Webley Axor 2. .177 AA s410 i get fed up with pumping them with a foot pump and am interested in a Buddy Bottle, What size / pressure tanks do you boy's use. - I don't intend to use that meny shot but would like to keep it topped up. They seem to come in 230 or 300 bar....:yp:? Also I am much happier with the overall performance of the AA (has a much better accurate range and almost silant) will the fact its .177 matter at 35 yards from a head shot P.S which part of the head is it best to aim for ??
  14. If you had a purdey, would you bash it about in the pigeon hide ?? Therefore, it would sit in your cupboard, - Is it really worth it ?? Thats the reason i sold mine
  15. If you lived in the town, you'd have bashed out a couple of kids by your age..

  17. Careful Red, the 391 is one of my favourite guns at the moment. I've had alot of dinners out of mine too.
  18. The battery which I use for my whirley is knackerd (through lack of care) and I want to get another. My current one is 7ah 12v. It was a lamping battery. What power do you use for a rotor - I was thinking of going up to a 15ah for longer life but they are twice the price...
