  1. Nope havent read the rules. I re-listed because there was such a large amount of post Xmas sales my advert fell off the immediate list within a day. If there is a rule that says I cant re-list then I apologise but judging by the amount of extra interest and possible sale I'd respectfully suggest the rule or the page design is wrong and dissadvantages forum users!!
  2. This is a time crucial advert because I have a trade in value on this gun and equipment for 2 weeks from today so all I’m looking for is £50 more than the mean offer my gun shop has offered of £500. So I’m after £550 for all this kit. Fundamentally it’s a 3 month old Mossberg 500 Hushpower but it was a pet project of mine to do the following. http://www.gunmart.n...action_shotgun/ I have everything needed to make this Mossberg into this custom gun and have had it in this configuration for the last 2 months but put it back to something more like standard to make it easier to sell. There are a few pictures below to show what it looked like. I can put it all together if required for whoever buys it but my plan was to have lots of different bits so that it would be a multi purpose gun. All of the bits are very easily changeable without a great deal of know how. As it happens the great permission I had requiring a moderated gun has disappeared so I’m left with a gun I don’t use enough to warrant having in the cabinet! So this is what I have. MOSSBERG 500 HUSHPOWER WITH MODERATED BARREL, FULL CHOKE I HAVE PUT ON AN IMPROVED ALLOY TACTICAL SAFETY AND REPLACED THE SLIDE WITH A BETTER QUALITY ATI VERSION AND WILL INCLUDE THE NEOPRENE SHELL HOLDER SHOWN ON THE STOCK. X2 CUSTOM MADE CAMO COVERS, MOSSY OAK & FLECTARN X1 RIBBED 28” BARREL, PORTED X1 24” RIBLESS BARREL X4 SPARE CHOKES AND CHOKE KEY (FULL, ) X1 SPARE MAGAZINE SLIDE (ORIGINAL) X1 SPARE BREECH SLIDE AND FIRING PIN ASSEMBLY X1 ATI COLLAPSABLE STOCK WITH SHELL HOLDER X1 EOTECH STYLE HOLOGRAPHIC SIGHT X1 HOGUE RUBBER PISTOL GRIP X1 ATI SYNTHETIC PISTOL GRIP X1 ATI FOREND GRIP X1 ATI BARREL HEAT SHIELD MOSSBERG 500 MANUAL AND VARIOUS SPARE NUTS, BOLTS AND FITTINGS I’m not interested in splitting any individual items but I will split into the 2 separate groups of the customised parts and the actual gun and barrels. I want £550 for the lot or £450 for the gun and barrels and £150 for the custom parts. As I said I already have a dealer offer on the table so I’m not really interested in bargaining on the prices, I think it’s a top deal as it is. Most of the custom parts you cant get in the UK and the collapsing stock alone was £100, the spare barrels were £195 and £140. Just in case anyone is concerned, the gun if customised (collapsing stock fitted) is 100% legal and has been confirmed as such providing you do not put on the shorter barrel which then takes the gun below the legal length. I am very careful to have that barrel locked well away whenever the collapsing stock is fitted! This has been my pet project for quite a while so I know the gun and the parts very well so feel free to ask questions but as I say, 2 weeks and its gone! Only able to do a face to face deal and you obviously need your SGC with you.
  3. Just seen a mint one in McAvoys of Standish for £220 2nd hand. I thought it was new! Might have been FAC but easy enough to have them take the mag tube off to make it section 2 again!
  4. The manual says its designed for up to 3" but that it will accept 3 1/2. I havent put anything over 3" through it myself. Moderated barrel has had less than 500 rounds through it, 28" barrel less than 100 and the 24" is completely unused!

  6. Exactly what I was doing but it hated it. I like my shooting fluid and clutter free. Wants the point of a lovely little cordless device when you have to scan, swap your light for your rifle and then re-aquire the target in the rough area you thought it was. Honestly mate, I went through all this and it was awful. Bunny count halved and I was very frustrated trying to pinpoint a bunny I had just seen in the main light with a narrow beam!
  7. I'm a massive fan of modern contempary looking guns but thats plain orrible!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I've had one and sold it to someone else on here. In theory its great and once you have a target in the beam its a fantastic image through your scope. My problem was I was shooting bunnies and I need to scan a field to identify my target. The beam on this is too good if that makes sense in that there is no perphial light so it becomes very hard to scan a big field for quarry. I've no doubt it would be great for foxes or tighter areas but didnt work for me!
  9. I had a crimped Hatsan Escort and paid about £70 supplied and fitted for an extension tube! Problem is th egun barely cycled 3 reliably so it was a bit of a waste of time. Having said that I found if I blazed all 8 shells out as fast as I could (party piece only) it cycled very well indeed and was only ever a problem when I took my time! Anyway, I traded it in a few months back and its still on sale at McAvoys of Standish for about £20 more than they gave me for it! Simple answer is yes you can put an extension tube on but you have to have the crimped tube removed!
  10. ND3 Laser Light! Double the price more range! Problems as previously stated! Brightness wasnt the problem, its target identification. The effective beam is so narrow with no peripheral light that scanning a huge field with it is very difficult. Put it this way, I could scan a field in say 2 minutes with the laser light and see nothing. I'd do the same job again with my scope mounted lamp and pick up 2 or 3 bunnies I had missed with the laser light in seconds! It was a great bit of kit but just not effective! Maybe this light has some peripheral light and will work OK for you. Put it this way if you get it and it works then I'd go get one but I suspect youd have the same problem I found!
  11. Great bit of kit if you know roughly where your bunny is. If you want to scan a field to identify your target then its a waste of time! When I tried something similar I found myself scanning the field with a wide beam powered lamp to see where the bunnies were, then switching that off and the LED on then struggling to locate where I thought they were! It just seemed pointless and more difficult than just having a lamp to identfy and complete the shot! Only my opinion but from my experience a good variable beam scope mounted lamp is the only option that actually works all the time!
  12. Depends on your budget and at what distance you hope to be shooting at. Short range there are loads of led options of torch mounts etc very very cheap prices but thats all sub 50 yards at absolute best! In my opinion, anything more and you need a battery powered scope mounted lamp, I use a Deben lightforce which is nice and compact and lets me hit targets up to 100 yards but then I use that powered from my Landy. The next best but pricy option is one of the various laser lights you can buy but I have found the light form them to be too narrow for finding bunnies and you need something with a nice wide light diffussion to pick them up!
  13. Ah I see! Now that looks a lot of fun! I wonder if there is anywhere in Cheshire! Time to do some investigating!
  14. Ah, actually now you all say it, I think it is practical shotgun!!!! Too much tele obviously!! However still not sure what PSG is all about?
  15. Its a few months ago now but when I applied to get my FAC varied to include an auto shotgun I got a call from them asking if this variation should include the use of the shotgun indoors for tactical shooting. At the time I just thought it was some stupid civiy doing the job who didnt realise you only use shotguns in the UK for vermin and game but I've since heard other people talking about tactical shotgun although the details are skethcy! Sounds like some LA SWAT type indoor target stuff which might be fun. Does this actually existing in the UK or am I dreaming? Anyone have the lsightest idea what this is about?
  16. Ive bought one of these, not sure if its what your talking about! http://www.guns.gb.com/410-phantom-synthetic-moderated-9103-0.html Dirt cheap, fully moderated and comes up like a dream. Ive been using it for squirrels and bunnies but have taken a crow with it. Cant recommend it highly enough but as others have said, its amazing with 2" shells, less so with 3.5" 5's, which are better killers but generally speaking you wont notice how quiet it is but people 50 yards away will. Only draw back is single shot in my mind but then its been very rare I coul dhave got a 2nd shot off anyway!
  17. My permissions fluctuate and I'm always looking for a shooting oportunity even if it be one I have to pay a little for. Often seen these adverts on ebay and thought about it and although I know they cant gurantee a bag, had assumed they wouldnt advertise unless the fields were being hammered! Bet that was a right let down for you! My permission is currently covered in rape of varying age and growth but so far not much action at all. Last two mornings Ive driven alongside fields leading up to my permission rammed with crows on what looks like cut wheat but I assume has rape seed blown into it to have such big numbers! Pretty sure its estate land but might wander round for a chat with the farmer tonight!
  18. When do you need them for mate? I shoot about 15 miles from you in Lostock and although I havent got any days planned currently your more than welcome to as many as you like when I do!
  19. Ah my fav gunsmith and where I bought my Savage. As at yesterday they had the CZ in as well so you can do a good comparison! If you dont already have a good relationship with them drop my name into the deal and you should be good for a little off the price! Done this a few times recently and they seem happy to look after people Ive referred!
  20. Isn't 28gr exactly the same on lead as 32gr?? Thats just the charge of powder and velocity of the shot. If your shooting pigeons and crows using something like 32gram 5's anything out to 45 yards is fairly easy to achieve depending on what the target is doing. If a crow has flown over your head or youve shot one and the others are flying directly away you can hit them at long range 'right at target'. A fast crosser at that range is another proposition. Its a combo of target, choke and shell selection but I'd take on a 45 yarder with full chokes and be confident of a hit if it was a relatively static target! I used to shoot with my clay gun using the same chokes I used for clays and that range could be as much as half of that easily for an 'effective kill'
  21. Pump action are a lot cheaper, very satisfying and just as user friendly once you get used to them. Mossberg 500??
  22. Ah right yeah that makes sense! Unlikely that they will ever inspect it anyway I guess!
  23. Just out of interest why do you think it will be legal? I'm not that well up on the SPAS but I put a collpasing stock on a pump and had alsorts of issues despite the fact its overall length remained over 40". If the current length without stock is anywhere near 26" your sailing close to the wind I think but if you know different I'd be interested because I like the collapsing stock for ease of storage and moving around a hide!
