I don't really understand all this so please correct me if I'm wrong. They where investing him, found he purchased an illegal firearm, stopped him and thought he was armed so they shot him. So illegal firearm, suspected of an imminent attack. Why all the fuss that he got shot?

I'm not saying they don't get injured, I'm saying why should they get discounts when some never see a battle and there already getting paid. Again compared to normal jobs there risk may be higher when engaged but yes this is what they signed for. If I was at work as let's say a pyrotechnic engineer and I get a limb blown off should I get discounts? When they join I'm sure they don't think there gonna be playing with water pistols and bean bags

As has already been said they signed on the dotted line. As for being sent away etc there are many jobs which require this - contractors Working in woods in the freezing cold etc - again many other jobs require you to work in harsh conditions.

I don't mean to put those who deserve discounts down but there are many forces roles which are about as dangerous as a good night out, should they be allowed this discount when civis aren't?

I understand the point about alcohol and tobacco, I think that these highs are much less severe in comparison. I mean what is more extreme, someone having a tablet and seeing the tooth fairy and believeing they can fly or having a smoke to calm some nerves or a drink to do the same? You have to remember that legal highs have no potency or addiction limits and the harmful effects are unknown for each. With alcohol or tobacco it's fairly well publicized to say the least.

It is a difficult one. Personally I can't understand why people would want to get "high" or what it's supposed to feel like. Anything what causes your brain to function abnormaly for an emotion can't be healthy can it? I think legal highs will have a bigger negative impact than illegal drugs, due to the fact your not hideing from the law, it's easy to get, and the big difference are the ingredients. I've been told you can make explosives from household items but the item's by themselves are harmless.

This has been bobbing about the news for some time. There are shops on high streets and shopping centers purely set up to supply these. I'd hazard a guess that it's probably a multi billion pound market. I cannot see how politics or policeing can control the potential harm done by these so my question is: should we spend millions on research, awareness campaigns etc etc which may be fruitless or just leave those who want to sniff smoke eat plant fertilizer to it? I can see this becoming a bigger issue than illegal drugs in the future, do you agree?

I don't confess to know all people who take them but I'd suspect that most people don't use them as they are advised. And I really don't know why your going mad about generalisation looking at some of your posts.

It's relatively simple getting quotes on car repairs. Specialist garages may have sent their workforce on a week's course and have a bible hidden in the back room. Maybe some special equipment costing thousands so they have to pay for it somehow.

Most of them don't buy essentials with them, maybe used for a night out or stuff like that

No your probprobably riright, we should probably keep the system as it is, I mean it clearly works. In fact since everyone is rolling in money we should give them more. Why not even come up with more benefits like if they vote they get a brand new car? As for taking others stuff, this happens already anyway.... If found guilty of a crime then stop their benefits altogether and make them count sand to earn tokens. To have a civilized succesful society people have to work together and abide by the rules. Those that choose not to shouldn't live in society.

Went to Newark a few years back, probably not going to bother now it's moved, after traveling, b&b cost etc it wouldn't be worth it unless they was giving some away. kettle - why? i have to pay to drink tea and coffee if i realy want to, its not a nessecity radio- why? i dont listen to mine much and again i paid for it hair drier n- why? whats wrong with a towel? what did we use before these? why would they need £000 as soon as they had a job? why not have a loan scheme free of interest for a week or a month then pay the money back? they will only need basic comodities which their wage should cover (like most working people) and as for the "high costs" for food kitchens etc, its far cheaper producing meals in bulk than individualy, the initial set up costs would be expensive BUT with the money saved from payouts it wouldnt take long to pay it back. you could probably have pre prepaired meals delivered cheaper than paying benefits directly. due to the nature of being skint most will live in certain areas anyway so i wouldnt have thought they will be highly dispersed. its hard in this day and age to realise what is actualy required to survive. how did we cope years ago with straw beds, growing our own, no central heating, no telephone, no tv, no car, litrally no money etc etc We should provide the absolute basics to those who find themselves in the position to need it. We shouldn't provide a currency which can be used universally to purchase non basics. We should provide absolutely zero to those with no intention to work and support themselves. The general attitude from the government and most people over the last few decades has been far to cuddly. We need to show people the real reality of life and not give them the option to avoid it.

absolutely what electric goods do they need?, have a catalogue system with vouchers to pick from the catalogue for clothes, shoes etc. there are plenty of deserted shops etc what could easily be converted into soup kitchens etc, make those claiming the longest work in them or they loose their benefits, remember the whole idea is so they are able to survive, not to have luxuries like tvs, phones, latest trainers, cars etc etc. Why should they get these when others have to work for them. I'm sure with the structure above their will be a sudden drop in the unemployed.

Stop benefits, open a canteen in the area for meal times, have a laundrette in the area with a list of names, pay their gas/elec Bill unless it's stupidly high due to illegal activities. Would save an absolute fortune. Most of these people don't wanna support themselves so let us support them For those claiming disabilities or any other circumstances then these should be investigated properly and the people being investigated be aware why. with the money saving it may benefit the genuine ones.
