  2. I dont dispute what you say poontang, i have been discussing this case and dr kellys elsewhere, i would appreciate a link to that information tho. i try not to argue see, i would rather a discussion was fact based. Thanks. Its my impression that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, you fly with the crows you get shot with the crows, Its clear he was not under observation, the car was the focal point. ......................................................................... unsure of Rodney's identity, police had first called on one of his neighbours, who put two and two together and told friends. Word spread through the close-knit extended family. Waiting for the police to call, Alexander turned on the television and stared at the red Sky News ticker. The portrait of Rodney as a gun-toting drug lord is utterly alien to his family and wide circle of friends. So far, the police have not publicly offered any evidence to suggest that Rodney was a gun-toting drug dealer. According to a statement by E7, recounted in the minutes of an IPCC meeting The IPCC investigated the shooting. Rather than publish its report, it passed it to the Crown Prosecution Service - a sign of the seriousness of the case. But in July, the CPS concluded there was insufficient evidence to convict any individual for the slaying of Rodney. ................................................................................ ....................... The cases also involved the immediate smear campaign as with the young totally innocent brazilian. Same squad same police force. Within hours, news agencies misreported that Rodney was holding a gun when he was shot. The few newspapers that noted the incident subsequently described Rodney as a crack-dealing "drugs baron". This label perhaps explains why so few people have heard of the Azelle Rodney Campaign for Justice. It stinks of cover-up to me, but i would be happy to have the stink removed. You see insufficient evidence in their opinion, a service biased towards the police, still means there was evidence of misconduct. the CPS concluded there was insufficient evidence to convict any individual for the slaying of Rodney.
  3. No-one is claiming he was an angel, also he isnt here anymore to defend the allegations, that said he is of no loss to me. Theres 3 things about his shooting that bother me, firstly the use of an enquiry for the first time in legal history for an individual death, Dr Kelly being the only other and also considered a whitewash. Secondly we all agree i am sure only the most experience officers are trusted to those posts, however i have to wonder after the officer pulled the trigger not once not twice not three times as those shots to the head were required for total and absolute disablement, what was going through this officers head when he delivered the 4th 5th 6th and 7th bullets into his head from just feet away.. Thirdly the total supression of the story.
  4. It would be excellent with cartridges that fill the pattern at 30 yards max, 8s, i mean when 90% of the birds you pull on are in a kill zone created by environment and wind. As others have stated multi choke allows you options in the field, improved cylider with trap 7s is all you will need for corvids over decoys.
  5. lovely lads, good day had. Pidgeon shooting is alot different than corvid shooting isnt it, ive noticed over the years just how open the front of a hide can be on pidgeons, i would of been on the hedge in the bush behind you. I only ever got over a ton once on woodies in one session. the island only has a small population of woodies, but thousands of corvids. Be lucky lads.
  6. Yeah i will edit in te case, using an inquiry for an individual for the first time in legal or any other british history is a clear cover-up. The authorities can and do smear their victims. his name was Azelle Rodney. When i started shooting all you had to do was go to the post office and buy a £4.00 vermin liscence to carry a firearm on the street, to £8.00 for a game liscence, so as to carry said firearm whilst in the company of a dog. Long gone are the carefree days of archie coates and hugh fulkus, stories started appearing about decoyers harrassment many years ago now in the shooting time/sporting gun etc, full turn outs, helicopter the lot on some guy decoying pigeons from under a tree, because in my opinion the police do not want civilians with firearms, simple as that, and nothing has changed except the gradual erosion of ours rights, and make no mistake about it, they would if they could disarm you all at the stroke of a pen today. I fear for you all really, to be deprived of what i took for granted would be a great shame. Anti-terror laws are to be feared by all, not just terrorist, as they are a means with which to drive the wedge finally all the way in, and when those same laws are used to justify the execution of an innocent boy on a train, with no-one accountable for his murder, then those laws should send shivers up any right thinking mans spine. I am also wondering why you tazer a man who has a shotgun pointed under his chin, if you dont want him to shoot himself, not that i think for one minute he is any great loss to society, but his muscles contracting was a certainty, and pulling the trigger assured, just sayin.
  7. Then the pair of you are a disgrace, police marks men and their bosses are supposed to be proffessional, and we have a right that the standards they maintain are the highest, the execution of the brazillian on the under-ground and the lies and distortorns that followed were a shameful indictment of modern british policing. They may be unofficial executioners, BUT THE PUBLIC MUST NEVER ACCEPT IT. I will wager none of you even heard a whisper about the unarmed lad sat in the back of a car, that was executed by the same officers only weeks before, with 7 bullets to the head. Ask yourselves why blair had that story smothered, and again used the same proceedure as dr kellys to avoid a inquest, the only 2 individuals deaths where this proceedure has taken place instead of an inquest in british history. Since when has it become O.K. to shoot unarmed lads/boys in the head from point blank range six seven or eight times, on the streets of britain ***.

  9. Get out and shoot 100 english skeet, that will get your swinging thru em. I think people are confusing shooting clays with different guns to their field gun, balance weight barrel lenght all make a difference.

    Good stuff man. I should never of married my first wife either, she just didn't like me.
  15. Weve got feral wallaby's here in good numbers, and they are Labrador prints.
  16. I just used fertiliser bags slice open down the seams, and a stack of bales as the backing and used the best patterning shell i could find at 35yds with all my guns regardless of choke..
  17. Basic back of car kit. Binoculars. Fence posts 4. Mallet Saw Heavy duty flat headed chopper on long handle. Roll of plastic garden fence dark green with very small holes. 5 gallon drum and cushion. Bottles of water for the dog. Roll of bailer twine. Assorted deeks. 4 or 6 cartons {250} plus assorted part used cartons of cartridges. {over here i got 2 cartridges a head for rooks/jacks and cashed them in twice a week, so i really only took cartridges into the house when there were too many in the car, if i had a 100 heads in a bag they would be on top of 7 or 8 bodies, and i would book 150 and get 300 cartridges x by several bags, some times john would just say to me throw them on the midden on the way out will you, i would say aye righto, then drive into town and cash them in again at another dealers, happy days, the catridges i made profit, and there were alot, i used from november thru march on the clays and sold the rest.} Rope, for lashing big branches to roof rack. Assorted Canes and dowling. I shot alot of bare stone walled postage stamped size fields, mainly from bale hides, with branched roofs. I had no reservations about using tame calling birds pegged down with the decoys for movement and noise, one rook and a jackdore worked fine, but were supplemented a good few time with young rooks that had eaten too much barley, and could only jump high hoping to catch a wind, dog got them most of the time, so i would peg them down aswell and bring the occasional one back for my m8. [they were not my birds, but a friends who lived only 100 yards away, he had several including a raven, and the dog never mouthed them once by mistake best i can remember.}
  18. Not if you use cupped shot cartriges, i used olympic trap for the vast majority of my decoying.
  19. OK guys happy days {and looking back they were aswell}. Kit. Over-sized bush hat. Balaclava Barbour coat Green quilted waistcoat. Barbour leggings. Lightweight wellies. {wellies go inside leggings and your bug and corn ear/spike clear, no itching and scratching, means no movement in the hide.} Guns. Browning auto multichoke {5 shot in my day, 6 using eley inpax 7} Browning A1 o/u 28in barreled trap gun, bored out to skeet, full and improved cylinder. Nikko 5000 26in barreled skeet gun. A side by side double half choke barreled little beast i used for duck whose make escapes me, it was english tho. Cartridges. All eley for my decoying{purely because they patterned best for me}. olympic trap 7.5 grand prix 6 and 7 impax 6 and 7 Many and varied makes and types for game shooting. Ive read quite alot of the postings on the board so far, but ive yet to see this little but important tip for improved kill rates over the period you own a particular gun, and it goes for all your guns. My tip is this, and it will cost a few bob, nowhere near as much as it would to get the gun plated mind, but worth every penny long term. Pattern your gun, test several boxes of different cartridges both makes and shot size, put a box thru the barrels to get a good sample, eliminate holes in the shot pattern, well worth it. And so theres no confusion i am in the Isle of man, not england. And always remember, its true size does matter. Its nice to get a few, but its great to get 2 sackfuls tho.
  20. Thanks m2tyj. You live in pigeon country dont you essex.
  21. hi folks. I no longer shoot, but ive loved it since as long as i can remember, from bunking school to sneak off with my uncles old bsa .22 single shot bolt action rifle from under his bed at me nans, after constantly going thru his hunting jacket pockets to biuld up 4 or 5 bullets, {and i later found out he knew}, to an all expenses sponsored by government near fulltime decoyer of the corvid. I would like to chat to you fellas about cheap and cheerful shooting, old fashioned field craft that got me 15/20,000 rook jackdore greyback magpie feral pigeon and a few woodies along the way per season.
