  1. Yep office car park. CCTV - not one of the offices around me, including mine, has it... The horse has slightly bolted but we've ordered it this morning.. I especially like the way they managed to miss the bricks at the front..
  2. Well this is what greeted me when I arrived at my office this morning. All four wheels stolen (with tyres only a few weeks old, sigh); locking wheel nut pinched by smashing the drivers side back window. This was done in the middle of a business park in Warwick over night. My car gets left here once a month max (although never again!), so has to be an opportunist theft. If anyone hears of any 20" Audi 5 spoke grey coloured alloys for sale in the Warwick/Leamington Spa area please be sure to let me know..... Just fills me with joy

    3D TV

It sounds like he's trying to sell you one of the £40 HDMI cables they have in stock... No special HDMI cable needed at all..

    Power Kite

Are you after ram air or LEI (Leading Edge Inflatable) if you're going on the water? I've got a 16m Cabrinha LEI, used for kite surfing when I was still fit, sat in my barn unused for a good few years now. It's a (very, very) big 4 line, light wind kite and you need a lot of skill to fly it, so if you don't have that then it's probably not for you. If you are interested I don't want much for it.
  5. I have a detachable tow bar that fits the Discovery 3, 4 and also Range Rover Sport. It is used and could do with a squirt of WD40 but is in good condition and does work fine, I only ever used this to tow a quad about. Looking for £100 (these are on ebay for considerably more than this) collected from Northampton. It is very heavy so would prefer not to post but will at buyers cost. I also have a full set (1st row, 2nd row and boot liner) of original Land Rover Rubber mats to fit a D3/D4. These are used but in good condition. Looking for £75 collected (I don't want to post these due to size and faff factor).
  6. I've got a "brand new in box" dog guard to fit a Defender 110 pre-2007 (non Puma). All the fittings/instructions required are included in a sealed package. I know it doesn't fit the Puma model as that's what I've got...... Probably best you don't ask me if it fits other Defender models as I'm not a reliable source of information in this area... Paid about £110 for this earlier in the year, looking for £75. Would prefer collection (Northampton) but will post at buyers cost. Will happily swap for a dog guard that does fit a Puma model .
  7. I've got an old stepper that you can have (it's in reasonably good condition but needs a clean and a few bolts tightening). I'm in Northampton though so might be a bit far for you. Offer is there though!

    'like'

My least favorites are the use of a sarcastically pronounced "seriously" or "really" in response to almost every question/situation. In particular from my 10 year old... And as for the previously mentioned "fail", and to take it a stage further "epic fail".. Sigh
  9. I shoot clays from my land into the farmers fields next to mine with 3-4 people from my village (roughly every 6 weeks shooting 300 clays). We only use fibre wads and the clays seem to get broken down pretty well by the harrow/plough etc. My mower sees to the clays that fall on my side. Any whole ones are collected and reused, big chunks are stood on to break into smaller pieces. My only recommendation is that you don't use orange clays, I'm not entirely sure why that seemed a good idea at the time.
  10. I don't, he combined it with a lesson and a 100 sporting round, Give Claire a bell as has been said, she is very helpful and friendly. They're only about 10-15 mins away from you. Did you get a chance to speak to your brother? The Farmer has been onto me about it (although currently my land is under 2-3' snow drifts!)
  11. Carl, as Colin says, Honesberie offer a gun fit service; a friend of mine went there a few weeks back to have his fitted and they did a good job with him. They've also got a very decent sporting set up there, I've shot it a couple of times this year and the target variation is excellent!
  12. Carl, PM replied to, you are more than welcome to come with your brother. As we've shot together before (and assuming I'm about), you are also welcome to bring your shotgun, there are a few pigeons and plenty of rooks about at the moment. Pete, thanks for the kind words, much appreciated. How is your little project going? I'm always available for tasting/constructive criticism duties
  13. I left Northampton at 6am and arrived in Warwick and it's all clear!
  14. I'm looking for someone near Northampton (between Northampton and Towcester) to come onto my land and hopefully take care of the rabbits. I've been shooting them but just don't have the time to make a decent dent in them. They're currently making a right mess of my garden, paddock and neighboring fields. I would prefer someone local, and just to be clear this is for ferreting, not shooting. I would also ask that you have insurance, even if shooting isn't involved (just from a "responsible person" perspective). I will say I know very little (well nothing) about Ferrets so if this is inappropriate as regards seasons/young etc. then get in touch anyway via PM and we can sort something out when it is.
  15. Latest generation Aston Vanquish as a daily Ferrari 458 for the weekends Both in black... Can't decide on one, impossible

I have also been using CrashPlan to off-site backup my work servers for a couple of years and they are excellent.

    Chickens

I've been keeping chickens for years; when I moved house at the back end of 2011 I let them range and lost the lot to foxes within a week (lesson learnt!). I now have a pen that is made out of a large old green house (cost almost nothing) with glass removed and replaced with chicken wire, buried into the ground and surrounded by sleepers. I attached the coup to one end and use the old door way to get in and out. They've been fine in that for over a year now. The main issue I have currently is rats, you will get them!
  18. I ran my D3 on Pirelli Scorpion ATRs and there was no real difference in road noise over the standard road versions. I later fitted Goodyear Wrangler MTRs, big mistake! When the road tyres on my D4 need changing I will most likely fit the Scorpion ATRs again.

    minecraft

My kids play this constantly, it almost became a full time job for me installing mods and map upgrades like Hogwarts and Springfield from the Simpsons! In the end I set up a server in the office that they use with all their school friends (it also allows me to keep an eye on the scrolling text language!). I agree with the comments though in terms of the creative nature of the game, more than happy to let them play this.
  20. I have .22lr and .223 cleared on 5.5 acres, with written permission to use the neighbouring field as a backstop (5.5 acres slopes down, neignbouring field slopes up).
  21. I just spoke to my Firearms Officer (whom I know quite well), he is looking into whether or not this can be added to my certificate (or if I have to hand it in), and has said I can hang onto it for now. Call me sentimental but I don't have a lot of things from that era and it would be nice to keep it if possible.
  22. Do you know I suspected that would be the case, I'll give my Firearms Officer a call. Thanks for that response. I'd still be very interested in any information on it though.
  23. I have just found this old rifle bolt in my mothers old house, it would have no doubt belonged to my grandfather/great grandfather (I only ever recall my late father using shotguns). From a curiosity perspective does anyone have any idea/thoughts what it may have come from? My initial thoughts might be an Enfield maybe, but that would just be guessing. I'm assuming there are no legal implications with me having this, I've had a dig and can't see anything; I'm sure someone will soon put me right if there are! It has the numbers 20113 on the bolt lever itself. The number 5556 on the bottom of the bolt and the alpha numeric 9096A on the bolt catch. If photos from different angles might help then let me know.
  24. Thanks for the replies, I'm going on a bit of a sentimental nostalgia trip here! For those of you who think farming is hard now, here is my Great Grandfather undertaking some harvesting.
  25. I recently found the following picture whilst going through my mothers things and thought I'd post it on here as a bit of rabbiting history for those of you who may be interested. The fellow on the right holding the rabbits is my great grandfather. The photo was taken approximately 1930, in a village called Stow Longa near Huntington where my family used to farm.
