I've got the flat (i.e. doesn't cover the sides) rubber mat, Land Rover original part. I've given up trying to keep the sides clean!

Totally agree with Dr_evil. I bought one of these for my D4 and it wasn't that great at all. The dogs pulled it away from the velcro fastenings almost immediately! I now use the rubber one from my old D3 and it's just a lot less hassle.

I've been waiting for just under 3 months for my FAC to come back from Northants police, it should finally be here within a week or two. I know the two officers covering our area reasonably well, one through a family connection and the other shoots the same ground as me. Ineptitude has absolutely nothing to do with it. They have a massive backlog, have recently been the subject of resource cutbacks and are currently having to cover each others areas (which are not insignificant in size) for land/home visits etc. Just be patient, it's frustrating but that's life.

I've been a certified P2 Practitioner for more years than I care to remember. My business and contracts operate predominantly in the Public Sector and it has been the preferred/recommended Project Management qualification for some time. Most Governmental and NHS PM jobs ask for it, as do the majority of Private Sector hence why I took it. So after being an IT Project Manager for 15 years, do I use it? No. I use very small aspects of it, and most public sector organisations loosely (and I mean loosely) follow its methods, but I have never come across anyone who runs projects the P2 way, it is simply too long winded and if I'm honest, old fashioned. It also only lasts 5 years (the Practitioner element, not the Foundation) after which you have to retake the Practitioner exam. Fortunately this exam is now multiple choice rather than a 3 hour written essay! If you are looking into a full-on PM role now or in the future then it is absolutely worth doing, for CV fodder if nothing else. My own personal opinion of P2 is that it does not incorporate any of the common sense that you need to be a good PM, it does however teach the importance of good controls and assurances in a project, along with auditable documentation (which lets be honest we all hate). Also consider (depending on what it is that you're actually managing): Agile/Scrum If you have any specific questions then feel free to PM.

I have an iPhone 3GS that I have not used for some while (previously tried to sell it on here, then forgot about it, then found it last night!). It was on Orange, I believe it's unlocked, comes in its original box with a USB charger. I probably have a set of Apple head phones that I can put in the box too. I have fully charged it up this morning and all works fine. Looking for about £120 ono posted, but would prefer to swap for an equivalent value (or plus some cash if applicable) scope/bipod/something interesting!

Thanks for the input both; I think I'll have a better look around before buying the first rifle that catches my eye, or at least see if they'll haggle on price a bit, it's been in the shop a while.

There's one of these for sale quite close to me that is getting more and more tempting (if I wasn't having to wait another few weeks for my FAC I suspect I'd have bought it by now, however in the meantime)... Does anyone have one? Are there any bad points that I should look out for? I've done a search on here and can't find anything regarding the .223 version so any experience/advice anyone has is appreciated!

In my last house I had my cabinet up in the loft, bolted to an old (redundant) brick chimney. No problems with Northants police. There are two (well probably more, but two I found) bad points about keeping guns in the loft; the first being large temperature fluctuations (as mentioned) which can cause condensation on the guns and the second for me, because I like to whinge a lot, was the inconvenience of having to climb up there to retrieve/put them back. Also, I always had 2-3 sachets of Napier VP90 moisture inhibiter in the cabinet. I wish I'd made a video of me getting the 7 gun cabinet up there, by myself, too. Pure comedy.

Waiting for my ticket to come back for a .223 and 2x .22LR for day/night set up. I feel an expensive shopping trip for my 40th coming up (my 40th being a more than decent excuse!). Had my own land cleared up to .22-250 as part of the application too so that's also a complete result and potential for the future!

First off I'll say that I'm not a fan of horses in any way, but my wife is and it was inevitable that my daughter was going to learn! She's 7 and has been riding for about 18 months. No broken bones, in fact not fallen off yet (although has managed to hang on a couple of times!). A group lesson costs us £14 for 30 mins and and it's £16 for a 30 minute private lesson. £30 for 30 mins is extortionate! Shame I can't help with stables local to you, but none of the ones around me charge anything close to that. For what it's worth, the ponies they use are as docile as hell and they pay great attention (in as much as they can still be unpredictable) to the safety aspect. My daughter has to wear her hat and protective impact vest before she goes near the ponies, let alone ride them. We did have a part ownership in a horse for my wife a few years ago but it was an utter ball ache in just about everyway (I had to go and repair the electric fence in its paddock on an almost daily basis as it used to charge through it). So I recommend if it ever comes to that, don't do it. As a passing thought I expected my daughter to get bored of it too, but she absolutely loves it, has joined the pony club etc etc.

I booked a weekend away in a nice hotel on the North Norfolk coast (a place where I spent most of my weekends aged 17-23) and after dinner went for a walk along the beach (Brancaster). It was a stereotypically stormy evening and the beach was deserted so I just dropped onto one knee and rattled off a load of gibberish (the content of which I have zero recollection) after which she said yes. Knocked her for six, she had no idea I was going to ask her. 10 years married this year! This was probably the only thing I've done in my life that I would call vaguely romantic!

My Beretta AL391 Tekneys cycles 65mm 30g Gamebore Supergame cartridges with no problems, but doesn't like 70mm Gamebore 28g Blue Diamond at all. Very annoying, need to find a good clay cartridge before the Northants Semi shoot!

I wouldn't say the ride was awful, but certainly it's, well, firm... Mine is the 120bhp 8v in standard form, this also has the "sport" mode button, which to be honest since the remap (to well in excess of 150bhp) I have never bothered with.

I currently have an 06 plate Astra 1.9CDTi SRi with the X-Pack and some added perfomance via a remap from Celtic Tuning. I bought this 2 years ago simply as a cheap economical high mileage motorway car. At 42k it needed a new alternator as someone else mentioned. Aside from that in just under 50k miles in my ownership it has otherwise been completely faultless. I have replaced front tyres twice and rears once, rear discs and pads and front pads. Nothing else. It has the 18" wheels and I personally don't find these a problem. It has been consistently returning about 44mpg. One thing I would budget for is a new stereo, the standard one is rubbish and if you're spending at lest 2 hours a day in the car that's not ideal.

My kids used the "Learning Ladder" PC software; they seemed to enjoy using them, collecting virtual 'stickers' etc as you go along. I've just had a look on Amazon and there are plenty on there, looks like they only go to Windows XP. I've defintely had them running OK on Vista and Windows 7 though. My eldest (9) has the Brain Training on DS, as well as the Junior Brain Training Maths edition and enjoys them!
