  4. DNT Nothing ventured nothing gained he who dares wins and all that All it would take is a committed group of people and some funding That's how these organizations start look at the NGO / WAGBI You know how fowlers are sentimental it would not take long before there was large support I have been a BASC member since I started shooting and will continue too be one untill there is a dedicted fowling group BASC are the only option at the moment Donkey
  5. Donkey

    Sciatica

I have suffered with it before especially if laying foundations with different ground levels I have found relief by digging a hole you need to persevere but it eases I guess your moving all the muscles and nerves Well it does work for me Donkey
  6. Kent in an ideal world What I am saying is fowling needs a body to look after its own A body where all wildfowling clubs are associated to it A body where a data base is kept where all members can be contacted from A body which will collect data bag returns etc A body to negotiate with NE and other lease agents A body to help with land purchases As I say just my take on it
  7. DNT It would be acceptable to many if it was BASC purchasing the likes of thornham marsh under the proposed land purchases But not another club bidding way above just to get it I was a member of KWA many years ago but moved on for many reasons and now belong to a great club I know you would not divulge club information but it would be interesting to see how many took day permits how many shots were fired and the bag return for thornham marsh for the two seasons Donkey
  8. Lamb pathia hot and sweet with a mushroom rice
  9. It's the old mis sharpen stuff I've never tried the cindered stuff

  11. Thanks for all the replies I will prob get the wood stock one I see there is a plastic stock one on gunstar for 350 Donkey
  12. Hi all I'm after your comments on your experiences and use of the baikal mp153 I am toying with the idea of getting a wood stocked model Comments on this gun good or bad appreciated Donkey
  13. I'm not talking of reserecting WAGBI but wildfowling needs a body to represent fowling clubs a closed shop where all bag returns can be submitted each season so data is available to relevant organizations when it is needed I know BASC does get some but after the greylag scenario where they actually never had correct figures A body who can deal with NE and land issues and leases I know if all clubs north and south of the border were to buy into this it would go along way to start helping to secure fowling for the future I have always belonged to BASC and have been a member of other organizations at the same time we do not have to break from BASC but we do need to start looking after our own affairs as one wildfowling body Just my take on it
  14. I have shot under a permit system and did not like it as stated already you then have to book in advance and hope weather tides etc are in your favour I prefer the freedom to go when I want Donkey
  15. With wildfowlers pushing BASC to buy land for the future of the sport AJ may be the best person for the job going forward As long as its no leased or owned by a wildfowling club I might add Donkey
  16. The National Gamekeepers Organisation are not the biggest organisation out there but state on there web site Approximately £3.50 goes to pay the insurance per member from the £40 membership It even goes on to state who the underwriter is Donkey
  17. There has been much talk on this subject what are our options now Do we gather 1300 for a sgm to show a vote of no confidence Form another association 7000 fowlers is a good start Many have said on this thread they will leave BASC where will you go I just think we will get nowhere with BASC on this and it's time to take another route Donkey
  18. Gotta say hevi shot glad I bought a load when the dollar was 2 to the pound
  19. I have been following this and other threads on The GL subjects and have agreed with the views of the posters against the inclusion of greylag and mallard onto GL I find that the BASC stance completely contempable to the members who ask the questions either through this forum or by email to BASC to be given a pre prepared stock statement How dare they ask questions Is what I hear Donkey
  20. The sand cement screed is fine You Would be best having a ready mix screed with fibers added this will be a good consistent mix There is nothing worse than having it being mixed by hand / cement mixer and getting inconsistent mixes and it does not mix well this way You will need to find out if there is a Dpm beneath the substrate if not you will have to put one under the screed You will need to find out if you need insulation as a 75mm 3" screed does not leave much room for it as a bare minimum 50mm would just about do but upto 100mm is the norm You can also reinforce the screed with sheet mesh Donkey
  21. Anser2 Do you know if the Dutch government are still going to gas hundreds of thousands of geese Donkey
  22. Big mat No sorry I use tps wads in the 10 I will be looking for data in the 12 fibre cup though Donkey
  23. I will have a go in the next few months loading some steel shot in the fiber cups other than that I'm pretty well sorted for the 10
