same hear...i just had to anserw an emergancy call with tears running down my face...i need to give my head a wobble...i lost both my labs to cancer and it broke my heart..but time is a great healer...

hi i grew up in the pennines and i remember as a small boy i was allways in the fields trapping rabbits and plinking at crows with a bsa cadet 177.. i thort i was john wayne with that rifle... i new this old guy who lived near my mum and dads house, i think he must have been somekind of old poacher,he saw that i had a few snares in my pocket and decided to pass on some of his wisdom...i told him it was my aim to snaffle a phesant or two from the local estate and this is what he told me to do... he said soak some rasins or dried fruit in some gin or vodka over night and leave in a few old eggcups around the area were i wanted to grab one..he claimed that the phesants would get drunk and i would be able to just take my pick of the drunk birds..to this day i would love to see if this is true and would it work... has anyone done anything like this in the past?? as a child i wouldnt think twice about jumping over a wall to grab a apple from a tree or a trout from a stream but i wouldnt do it now... Morning all ive had my fac for over 5 years now and as you can see i have a fair amount of rifles, however i would like to have a open ticket for my .22,17hmr and 22/250.. how do i go about getting it..ive had my rimfires for over 3 years and use a good amount of ammo and my 22/250 for 18 months..i no i wont get the 243 opend up as ive only had it a few months... whats my next step?? im in Manchester so its GMP that cover my licence... Thanks in advance Rich.

hi i have a remmington 22/250 700 sps fantastic little rifle...easy action on it and feels good to shoot worth the money rich

hi mate yea lots round it...its not a maggot farm any more its a big compost factory...with a massive quarry and open fields round it..seen about 5 foxes round it recently so its allways worth a look...its the first area i look at when lamping..i then have 2 more farms near it that i drop on to.. the 22/250 is a nice round not much recoil but it is a loud shot due to all the powder in it...nice and flat round..i use a remmington 700 sps with a weaver scope,atec mod and a custom stock.

hi pete was on a friends permission near lumb... was out last night for a walk round with my dad..wasnt gonna go but the weather cleared up last min...so went up to the farm at cliviger saw 3 foxes there and got one but didnt take my camera was a medium sized dog fox at about 70 yards up the hill...had another fox that followed us the whole time about 200 meters away just kept popping its head above a wall just not enough to hit with my 22/250 tried calling it at least 20 times it just wouldnt come from behind the wall...ill save it for next time..i did have a quick look at the maggot farm just the one fox there but it was down by the road side so not a shot..
