Beef breeds are generally placid and can be kept in fields which have rights of way through them. Dairy breeds, the Friesian, Jersy, Guernsey, and Ayrshire particularly are very likely to be agressive and cannot be kept in fields that have a right of way through them. Sensibly you would never take your eye off of any bull or ram for that matter (as you are far more likely to be hurt by a ram) and always be aware of its proximity in relation to you. Never trust any adult male farm animal that is still in possession of its balls ! No matter how tame it may usually be. More people are hurt or killed by bulls normally known to be very tame and be of placid temperament than bulls that are known to be aggressive. Leeboy

if you have the budget, i'd go for Benelli everytime. They are fool proof, very easy to clean, and my Montefeltro will go 800+ rounds without cleaning and still cycle perfectly. Others worth looking at are the Browning Gold and the Winchester super x2 or 3. Leeboy

Good line up, all the greats there. Just missing the buzzcocks. Leeboy -
Try adjusting the mixture, you will probably find that sorts it.

How mad is that ! whilst on holiday in Aussie a coupla years ago, i bought the magazine that article featured in. I bought it home as a souveneer with a load of other mags. Leeboy

The jumping and kicking is just the motor nerves firing caused by the sudden massive brain damage. Adrenalin will/can only play a part if the rabbit was alerted to your presence before you shoot it. A nervous rabbit ready to run will be full of adrenaline. A rabbit blissfully unaware of its impending doom will not have adrenaline coursing around its system. Leeboy

Shoot a couple of hundred 32 gram carts and you may well find the gun 'breaks in' and will be less ammo fussy. leeboy

BBs or #1 in as big a load as you can handle the recoil from. BBs are defo the best but #1 are a very close second. #6 will not be humane past 18/20 yards unless you are extremely lucky. I use 3" mag 50g BBs and 42g BBs and #1 I wouldn't go lighter than 36g Leeboy

#6 will do it well enough and are my choice for alround use. But I prefer #5 32g if specifically targeting rabbits, I find fives do it more consistently. Leeboy

As a farmer I think its a disgrace. I dont really care what peoples ritual beliefs are the bl***y things got TB !! What if it had foot and mouth ? Leeboy

I was told by the gunsmith they were not nescessary, I didn't ask why. As for the pins, I have had constant trouble with the firing pins becomming damaged on my Silver Pig III and have had to have them replaced several times. The geezer at GMK said to stop using the snap caps as they were probably the culprit. I'm not an expert or a gun smith, I just do as I'm told by those people who are and who's advise I thought was sensible to take. Leeboy

If I was loaded I'd have a mega expensive scope. I'm certainly not suggesting people shouldn't spend however much they want on a scope. I know it is advised to spend as much on the glass as you do on the gun, I've just never really been convinced. If I can happily do the job for a coupla hundred quid I'm a happy man. Dazzyboi, i think you are correct. I think the WTC 6.5-20x50 became unavailable here about 5 years ago (ish) When they were on sale here they retailed about £260. I got mine in a sale at an American gun shop for $97. !!! And for some reason I was never charged any import duty which was even more of a bonus. Leeboy

The inertia/floating chamber Winchester Model 50 will cycle an empty Smartie tube! :( Yes but it will require cleaning after every shot as the innards of the things gunk up quicker than that and they have/had a reputation for falling to bits. Isn't the mod 50 short recoil op ? Nice collectors piece, wouldn't want one on the foreshore. Leeboy

The 10 bore will always out pattern the 3.5" 12 bore but the 12 will always be more versatile. The following 4 guns are the very best 3.5" semi autos. All excellent guns with the Benelli being the quickest and easiest to clean and maintain. Benelli Super Black Eagle II (enertia) Browning Gold (gas) Winchester sx3 (gas) Beretta Exrema II (gas All 12s, dont know of many 10 bores other than Browning. My first choice every time would be the Benelli. I expect John forsey stocks the lot. He will lean towards the Benelli. Leeboy

yep, thats my opinion too. totally unnecessary in modern guns and can damage pins rather than protect. You would need to dry fire your gun countless times to possibly cause harm. I wouldn't waste my time or money with them again. Even the gunsmith says they are unnescessary. Leeboy

I dont consider them a budget scope. I find mine to be excellent. I've had it 3 years or so and would highly recommend it. I did get mine extremely cheap over the internet from a gun shop in Waco Texas. Its been used on several guns from air rifle to rimfire to .243 I think its very good quality and the optics are fine. Ok it may not be a £1000 swaro but I've never seen the need for that sort of thing. I'd happily buy another. Leeboy

A man walks into the pub with a big frog stuck on top of his head. The bartender stares at him and then asks, whats the story with that? The frog replies, it started out as a boil on my a**e ! leeboy

Utorrent is about the best BT client. Setting it up can be a bit of a pain but the best advise to start is once you know what your up/down speed is to set your max upload to 10. It is also a free download. I've been using it for a year or more without any problems. Dont expect to download films etc in a few mins some can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Some download sites will expect you to seed or you will be blocked. Also, although I've never had any problems I would strongly advise you scan anything you download with an anti virus/anti spyware before opening/playing to be on the safe side. Leeboy

Many thanks Stevo, I've been after that for ages. Leeboy

Charlton Heston once said it in very bad taste. Morning John, you're up and about early mate ! Didn't realise it was Charlton Heston. Isn't he the president of the NRA or something ? You say it was said in bad taste, I didn't know that either, sorry. What was the circumstances in which it was said, or is it too long a story to go into ? Leeboy

If W&S are saying only use 3" shells they are not going to sell many guns !! I wouldn't want to shoot 3" unless absolutely nesessary and then only for fox and wildfowl. I think you will have problems finding 3" shells in lead small sizes. If the gun has a 3" chamber it should cycle 2 3/4" shells down to an oz or 1 1/6oz without problems. The 3 1/2" enertia guns will struggle with much less than 1 1/8oz but you should be alright. i think you need to have that gun looked at, sounds like you got a bad one. Leeboy
