  1. sorry it must be me, are you saying they can or cannot be used with steel shot?
  2. I might have missed what you are saying but you say you use them with steel very effectively but suggest I hold back as lead and plastic wads are being fazed out?
  3. it possibly is still for sale but as the OP as not been online for 16 hours you will have to wait until he/she checks their advert, of course they may have it advertised elsewhere and sold it, frustrating when you want to buy something.
  4. you obviously have a better understanding of the way things work but in my eyes it is so wrong that this nutcase can just say he's converted to Christianity and will be in danger if he is returned to Afghanistan, so bloody what, bet he would soon change his mind when caught if they offered him prison or free passage back to Afghanistan. Bloody disgrace, something needs changing before we end up with more like him on our streets.
  5. What gets me is the government say they are doing all they can to try to stop people like him??? well it seems all they need to say is they have converted to Christianity and its an open door, unbelievable....
  6. This story as made my blood boil Apart from the horrific injures caused to the woman and her children by this nutcase, how the hell was this guy still in the UK? the system is broken…...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68167793
  7. Have you used these in the field for any length of time?
  8. Can I ask what he was selling and is he now banned?
  9. Was that fact ever published on PW?
  10. I think most of us who are over 70 can relate to your feelings, we get older and doing things we did in our youthful years becomes that little bit harder, the enthusiasm we had for the hunt, the kill slowly gets dimmer. I have also been shooting since the early 60s (now 74) and in that time have killed a lot stuff, my biggest love was/is pigeon shooting but with advancing years I also find I do not have the enthusiasm for big bags or the hours on the field. I am sure you will still enjoy having a walk about and you can always raise your stick and pull a pretend trigger at any passing birds, bet you never miss any All the best and enjoy whatever you do.
  11. A lot of the smaller farmers (200 acre or less) are struggling, a few I know are thinking of selling up, speaking to one such farmer the other week and he’s been approached by an energy company to turn most of the land over to solar panels, he’s just waiting for planning now. Wonder if this will spill over into the UK?...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-europe-68126373
  12. Someone with a lathe or a local machine shop could knock those parts up in an hour. Sounds like the spring/s are weak if its only putting a small indent in the cartridge.
  13. Yep, its laughable, ban zombie knifes and it will all stop.
  14. Two more youngsters dead, the killings seem almost every other day...https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-68122275
  15. Fantastic offer and great result for all, not a bad bag for a walk round the farm.
  16. have you ever seen mice attack dead pigeon, vicious little things.
  17. think they are having supply problems but he also said his main engineer had died, I presume its the guy who makes the moderators?
  18. So they are...just phoned them and they are having a few problems and hope to have stock in about 2 to 3 months. Thanks.
  19. I might be in the market for a moderated o/u 20g, went to Saddlery & Gunroom website and could not find anything on their Investarm Hushpower 20g O/U, also most other moderated guns are out of stock. Are they still selling/making the Investarm Hushpower 20g O/U?….https://www.hushpower.co.uk/
  20. According to GOV.UK recording the odometer reading is now part of the MOT test.

    Eh?

For someone with very short arms? Or the prop guy as never seen a sawn-off or he was using artistic license.
  22. You are seeing problems where there are none, if you take your logic and use the “prevent serious damage” then who is the judge of serious damage before you can shoot pigeons? You, the farmer, the CPS? You are correct in saying it is open to someones interpretation/opinion to what is and what isn't and for that very reason makes it difficult for the CPS to pursue a prosecution and get a conviction, I think the GL has been written in such a way that it meets certain legal obligations to stop it being challenged again but as left plenty of loopholes that make it difficult to prove you have not complied with the GL, as for keeping records, should you be challenged, that would be easy to comply with as you do not need to do them on the day you shoot. Lets put it like this, if you or anyone else were unlucky enough to be prosecuted and were found guilty and your guns removed, that would be the end of this type of shooting and possibly the end of shooting full stop, but I don’t think it will happen.
  23. I think that if someone had been taken to court for not complying with the GL it would be all over the sporting press and internet, we would know about it.
  24. I would think Packham’s legal team have been all over the GL42, so ask yourself this, why have they not taken anyone to court for say shooting over a stubble field, after all what damage are the pigeons doing? If it was that easy to use the GL42 to prosecute someone I think he would have done it by now.
