  1. I have some magic beans if you want to swap them for a nice cow. I also do a nice line in plot sales on the Moon - just Western Union the money over. I know some deported Royalty from Nigeria that would like to rest £50million in your bank account just for the weekend.... Stick "iraq currency scam" into Google for your answer.... or look at this purpose made eBay guide on the scam http://search.reviews.ebay.co.uk/Iraqi-Dinar-Scam That will be a £50 charge for not being scammed, I thank you...
  2. When I think of seals I think of Canada. Dunno about The East Midlands though.
  3. I think what Newtotheflock is actually saying is "are you a fisherman from Scotland or are you completely mental?"

    vermin

Each individal has to "draw their own line" and there is a general consensus on what is game, what is fair game and what is vermin..... although don't tell any of those gothic looking piercing clad weirdos that insist on keeping rats and telling the world how clever rats are and how they should be respected. "It's on my certificate, I can see it, I can shoot it". I know someone who shoots and who lives near to Colchester Zoo. Anyway, it's down to personal choice and you get extremists in all walks of life.... I still think the "seals" thread was a wind up. If it wasn't, go and set up SealWatch Forums.

Indeed, I thought the "Seal" thread was a wind up. The quicker that one slides off the board the better.
  6. A grey trowel? ***? That's 3 minutes of my life I won't get back.
  7. Petrol station attendants - always remind me of the (late) Bill Hicks sketch about the Judas Priest fans in the US that topped themselves after listening to Judas Priest backwards for 4 solid days and nights.... did we lose a cure for cancer? Did we lose a couple of scientists? No we lost a couple more garage attendants.
  8. I had my visit from the FAO last week - he gave the cabinet a kick and shake to see if it would come off. He did mention that if the cabinet had the relevent british standard then it would be automatically accepted (provided it was properly anchored). I drilled extra holes in the side of mine to get a better anchor into a corner (breeze blocks at rear, brick on the right hand side). I assumed that the wall to the rear was solid brick - no soon as the drill hit the wall on hammer setting it went clean through it much to the amusement of the missus. The best thing I found to use was liquid polyester and bolts - drill hole (not so deep as to go through wall), pump in liquid polyester (Wickes £8), insert bolt, wait 5 minutes. Boomshanka. You could hang elephants off the fixings.

  10. That's a good webby. I just registered and searched keyword of "AYA". Auction tomorrow, 26" 12b box lock ejector £120 to £180 estimate. This is the link for tomorrow's auction (for anyone with time to kill in the South West): http://www.catalogue-host.co.uk/gth/magdal...egory_23_page_1
  11. I had a pub debate with some friends last weekend on the issue of shooting Magpies. I was astonished at how little they knew - sticking up for them as big pretty birds to be invited into the garden. When growing up I used to spend a great deal of time at the grandparents (big house lots of land) and *every* year they had housemartins that would return to an outbuilding, nest and when their young hatched they would take to the washing line for flying lessons. One year magpies arrived and took the lot out. Nasty. The Magies took the eyes and then shredded the little that was left. Anyways, recently I saw this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml.../27/ixhome.html For my bit I immediately took out an annual subscription to Sporting Shooter. And shame on the RSPB for talking ********. Good shooting.
  12. Cheers LG, I have found the webby: http://www.geoffreycollings.co.uk/site/frameset/2/core.htm
  13. What, "yummy69girl 24/F, from Claremont, United Kingdom" She's definitely an option. I did see a shotgun video playing in the background but that was a bit of a distraction.
  14. That's not a million miles away from me - could do a long weekend up there. Got any contact details etc so I can find out for certain and stick it in the diary. Cheers LG.
  15. Where do the individual event auctions get advertised? I have seen a few auction sites on line but haven't heard on any real room auctions for shooting etc.
  16. I have my eye on a Benelli Comfort (3 shot semi, non gas). There was a recent article in Gun Trader that said it was very easy on the shoulder (easier than anything on the market including the Berettas - mind you Benelli are owned by Beretta so who knows how it all works). Haven't found anyone that has used / bought one though. Perhaps I will be the first as soon as my ******* certificate turns up. P.S. I think I will adopt Flytie's excuse of "medical grounds" as my reason for buying, as medically speaking I am a bit of a lady when it comes to kick back.
  17. Oh, I thought you meant "Wales" as in the Welsh.
  18. 6 months - do you share a name with someone on an Interpol wanted list?
  19. Thanks very much for that. I have money burning a hole in my pocket and am looking for a OU 20 bore and a 3 shot semi (fancied a Berelli comfort). I thought I was at being about a week away from getting my certificate but the FAC told me today that I am now looking at 6 - 8 weeks for it to drop on the door mat. I suppose it will give me time to do a bit more research. In the meantime I have already bought a second hand silver pigeon which is currently languishing in Leech & Sons gun shop.
  20. FAO just been round and all is well. Bad news is that the certificate is 4 to 6 weeks away, oh well.
  21. Does anyone know of a good gunshop in Essex where you can try before you buy (shotgun)? Ideally I suppose I am looking for a gunshop next door to a clay pigeon ground that doesn't have daft opening times or shooting restrictions? Cheers all.
  22. Spend the money and get one lesson from someone who knows what they are doing. The first time I went out I hit 9 out of 50. I had a lesson, and the next time out I shot 40 out of 50. The key for me was properly mounting the gun - I realised how badly I was doing by the size of the bruise the next day.
  23. Got a call at work today - FAO round on Thursday for inspection. They could have only got the application last Wednesday. Fingers crossed.
