    crossman 140

Help would be very much appreciated if anyone has information on the above air rifle preferably a diagram it is from about 1965 so its gettin on a bit, trying to get it sorted for a chap at work. Thanks dougy
  9. put the picture in the picky bit. but didnt realise you ment the drawing pin. will shoot another one for you. :yp: will try and video it :yp:
  10. Sorry for delay lost my camara. silly me i thought you ment me rifle. couldnt find the drawing pin. have to shoot another one
  11. sorry give me a few minutes got side tracked been trying to find out about a crossman 140 chap at works given it to me to try and mend. wont hold pressure. after an exploded diagram.
  12. Looked like a .308 size hole :yp: that was the drawing pin that got shoved through the back stop that made that hole. rite am going to have a look in a minute see if i can find it :yp:
  13. I have to agree with you nick :yp: I was very dissapointed with mine when i first had it mind you the first shots were'nt too bad the groups were about 1 1/2 - 2 inches at 100yds but i put that down to new experience. I did get some groups that were better about 1 inch but not consistant. But after a bit of tweeking floating the barrel and better trigger got it down to about 3/4 at 100yds. as you say out of the box for over £500 you would expect it to shoot better. But hey its good now so must be one of the lucky ones. And I DID HIT A DRAWING PIN AT 100yds
  14. just put my vote in. i use feds have tried others and have found them not to group as good. if there was a round that was cheaper then i would use them I found that when i tested remmingtons that the group was wider lower and to the left cci hollow gave a 1.25 group at 50yds . the cci game point at 100yds was over 1.5 So with a 3/4 inch group at 100yds using feds i will stick with them. Price is not an issue when it comes to killing whatever the quarry is.
  15. Flash i cant really see the point in going for the mach2 you cant silence it like 22 subs its not got the poke of the HMR but still has the crack. whats the point ? Go for the HMR i am 100% sure you wont be dissapointed. you will soon be taking head shot rabbits out at 135yds as i did the other day
  16. Hi RoBBo, I used to bait rats with mashed potato, i dont think that the cats will be to interesed in that. It has the advantage of not being able to be carried of by the rats as with other baits so they just sit there and scoff on the mash main course before getting there pellet pudding
  17. nice size fish Mark, **** of butter bit of pepper, under the grill......... BOOOOOOOOtiful. I remember when i landed my first, all the other fisher men watching clapped when it was in the net, thought that was really good and sporting of them. A nice feeling, i am sure you will remember catching your first for a long time. keep it going
  18. Nice shooting, thats irish hospitality for you. I would be nice to be as free with the rabbit shooting over there as it is with the fishing.

    HMR

Hi just thought i would share this with you. Just been out with my Ruger HMR nice calm day so i thought i would try it at long range. well longer than my normal 100yds. Bit of target practice on empty cartridge cases. (miffy i forgot my drawing pins) front on. Sat across this field and waited for the rabbits to come out and do a bit of sunbathing and took a bootiful head shot at 135yds. A bute. sorry no picture cus forgot camara. Thats all. bit boring but me well chuffed.
  20. Can uncle Ives garage repair my 250 could be worth a try... i think you just have to walk into the garage with it and give it a quick rub with a bit of sand paper get your ankle chewed by the Russle, growled at and thats it sorted. Oh and finished off with a cup of tea... Jokin apart uncle Ive did put me on the rite road Ive not sure if you posted the one when you missed the target made a nice neat hole in the swinger you made
  21. Well Ive as you say happy as larry. Oh and i am sure that it was the HMR that did that drawing pin and not the 308 Miffy
