  1. Hi, Plugged my iphone into a travel adapter (lost the normal plug) at home earlier and got a shock. Didn't think too much of it and charger working. Just gone to fridge (other side of kitchen) and it's off. Changed plug docket and working again... Are there fuses inside sockets? Whys it stopped? No trip switches out. I'm assuming 2 are linked? Being daft? Problem with travel adapter or house electrics ? :-/
  2. Really? Always seemed busy, good comps, cpsa, did some of the registered shoots. Very odd.
  3. Rented house do looking at quick fixes. Looks like a no go! I'll buy another blanket!
  4. Lots of new cars with driving lamps where fog lights used to be. I don't mean to look cool - Swedish (I believe) law means I have to. (I don't think it's cool - said tongue in cheek)
  5. Hi, I'm on tankered gas which I find quiet pricey when I start heating the house. Anyone tried something like the below? Wondering how much the electric would cost to run this in the living room - bedrooms upstairs would draw heat from the living room due to house design. http://www.argos.co.uk/m/static/Product/partNumber/4110831/c_1/1|category_root|Home+and+garden|33005908/c_2/2|33005908|Home+improvements|33007046/c_3/3|cat_33007046|Fireplaces+and+fires|33010727/c_4/4|cat_33010727|Fires|33020866.htm Can't get long link to work so... http://tinyurl.com/lb6lwy8 Is it going to be even more pricey? Thanks, Jon
  6. Didn't log it = knows he went too far?
  7. You didn't test do we can resolve this debate !?!
  8. As someone paid to do a job he went too far. He held the drunks head and attempted to knee him in it. He picked the lad up and slammed him down knocking him unconcious - that leads me to an assumption of head. Best case, slamming someone in that regard is hard to control. Those 2 moves belong in one place - a licensed MMA ring with the checks and protection involved. No assumption or self righteous attitude - he went too far.
  9. I'm not sure kneeing someone in the head of slamming someone head first into the ground do they're unconcious should play any part in a licensed doormans 'toolbox' There are times a doorman should have to only defend them self of walk away and call in the police. This is sick. A doorman is paid to control drunk people. Whilst I don't agree with excess drinking, commercially that's the reason this industry exists. Slamming your pay ticket into the ground is too much.
  10. I've just bought a cocker from Scotland so not docked. Chip at 6 weeks - big needle so good to still me around family as it's done (my vets view) and be feeling rough and tumble. Breeder had a chip reader so no photos needed to match numbers as dogs leave.
  11. My electric costs £40/month. I have the tv, laptop, phone charger and lights in constantly. I don't feel hard done to? Equally, I live in an old house with poor insulation and bottled gas for heating. Not been on yet this year as it's not been needed. Cost per unit is going up, but controlling the units we use is far easier and do-able? The only bit that bugs me is if I buy electric and gas I get it cheaper - but I don't have gas therefore am not allowed the best electric price. That sucks.
  12. That's brilliant! My 8 week old cocker (Twix) has serious issues with the gas pipe just outside the back door! That and any loud noises... Which could be a bigger issue long term!
  13. 200L drums? We use them at work and send them to farms full of stuff - need to be careful what's in second hand ones/has been in them as can be tricky to wash out properly
  14. I agree about the out for dinner thing. I was in a restaurant last week, family type place nothing posh, as I was away with work. As I was alone between courses I read a book and I chatted (via text) to friends on my phone - I kept chatting (via text) as I ate. I felt bad mannered as I consider this rude normally, but who was I being rude to!?! For context - in a 30yr old who is fairly phone addicted with a 2 yr old kid that I would allow to play up in a restaurant. If she was being naughty, we wouldn't be there to start with or we'd pay up and leave. Generally I can read behaviour and know if she's got excess energy and can't sit still for an hour - then it's park before dinner!?!

  16. No - nothing with squeaks, been warned on that one!
  17. Hi all, Got an 8 week old cocker pup. To try and keep her a little entertained she has a 'raggy' type toy, a soft plastic bone and a ball that has a bell in it. She's scared of the bell... Was originally running away from it but now progressed to growling/barking and nudging the ball again. Should I remove this toy or leave her to it?
  18. So a beater, whose natural office is from home, is away and incurring expense - either breakfast or dinner I would imagine.
  19. Self employed and place of work is home based - the shoot is the equivalent of a call out and using a standard rate to save doing lunch expense paperwork everyday is considered appropriate. I'm no expert, just what's been suggested to me. HMRC was something I read 6 months ago and too tired to look on my phone mate.
  20. I'm not taxed on Xmas vouchers from work - can't believe the multi national incredibly compliant corporate business I used to work for would put employees at risk. Another equal chance - shoots pay a standard lunch expense. Not taxed. Can prob only be £5 but can help - info on tax office web site and perfectly ok from memory as not working at home or office therefore lunch allowance makes sense.
  21. What if it's marks and Spencer's vouchers, not cash?
  22. Napier do a fairly substantial one that I use in hotel bathrooms. Edit - sounds wrong. Used to secure gun to bath or radiator!!
  23. I fancy a new outfit and bob parrat for the cost of a pizza over 250quid has caught my eye... What are these like in terms of quality and comfort please?
  24. My job means excessive hotel stays. One of my colleagues gave up alcohol (was a very heavy drinker) and stopped for a year. Felt, looked and sounded far better. Best of luck - let people close know you've stopped and gather plenty of support?
