  1. Good shooting what kit were you using?
  2. Sad news but a brilliant effort you did all you could noone could ask for more
  3. I've just finished my first one (Hidden tang, brass bloster then onto a layer of antler then a brass spacer next a walnut section followed by another brass spacer and finally a bit of antler to finish). I found British blades to be the most useful resource as for making it can be a lot easier than ou might imaging expecialy of you decide to buy a pre-made knife blank. All I used to shape mine once the peices where mounted on the tang was a grinder with a P40 flappy sanding disc a file and then grades of sandpaper P100 through to P1200. Good luck I hope it turns out great.
  4. I held a BSA ultra multi the other day while the shot count isn't that high they're short, manuvrable, accurate and fairly cheap even more so if you opt for the single shot version.
  5. Prehapse get some buisness cards printed showing your number, name, that your insured, your age and how long you've been shooting for (if it's a long time), and post them to the places you've already been
  6. Yup got my certificate with the traditional convict like picture on the front of it
  7. Right I applied for my SCG a few months back the FAO came for the interview before I'd installed my cabinet and told me that my certificate would be through within the next 5 weeks and once I'd notified them that I'd installed the cabinet they would be round to check in within the next 6 months as they were very busy and would do it on a day when there wern't more pressing matters to hand. However he did say that once my cabinet was installed I would be ok to put a gun in it prior to them checking it... Is this legal???
  8. Well It's not just the car it's the insurance provider as well. My first car was a Pergout 106 1.5 deisel and that cost £900 fully comp through the NFU afetr a little slide on the ice at 20 mph my beloved 106 got a little bit wrote off so I sensibly bought a 206 2.0 turbo diesel and it only added £80 extra on my insurance while I was still in my first year of driving.
  9. There are dozens of hares out my way there seems to be half a dozen in every field I drive past as for crows the crew yard harbours a good few but the ferrals I've been keeping ontop of.
  10. What kind of material is it stuck to? velvet sort of stuff or something a little harder wearing?
  11. Best of luck. I havn't seen a red for years now but I quite liked the effect my 12g had on a grey the other day
  12. Probs a c#%p suggestion but how effective would trancs be? A ground crew could then be used to dispatch the animals humanly and if someone can afford to ride round in a helicopter all day im sure he can afford tranc darts, this way he could get away with body shots. Cons - needs to be pretty close range I guess and tranc darts probs have a nasty price tag. Laugh if you will but I'm only throwing ideas into the mix.
