Never a wasted trip if you see some...think of it as reconnaissance Met up with a fella last night to show him the NV and was a pair in 1st field..typical as we were only looking through the Archer Tried a call some 20mins later after showing him more about it and had a huge Fox coming in but hung up behind the hedge in next field...at least he got to see it even though there were too many branches in the way to shoot it...be back after Xmas with little Frodo if i can get him out in this cold weather

Was upset anyway..cos i txt him whilst he was still at work....he's a grumpy little Elf

Finished work on Tuesday at 1-55pm for 2 weeks ,23mile drive home,shower,rifle and gear loaded,8mile drive to the farm where a Vixen had been heard calling the previous 2 evenings and got set up.Caller about 80yds away me sitting in the Jimny waiting for it to get dark Scanned the hill with thermal...few rabbits out,gave it couple of minutes,look again to see a large white shape.Nv on,rifle into chest as it was a rather steep hill and i had to lounge down on the seat.Xhairs fixed,fire,hear a nice thump and watch her drop...this was 4-20pm.She was staring intently at the caller below which i hadn't even switched on yet...holidays are well and truly started now Next stand nothing so moved onto a 3rd area.Lot of Hares here so tried Lil Jack for 20mins,nothing so Dog Fox Mating Call is selected.Within 5mins i have a Fox coming down the hill through the next field.Gave it a minute to get closer.By the time I'd picked it back up in the Nv she was 80yds past the caller but standing broadside..very considerate and duly despatched Pictures taken on my phone even though i had my camera with me...yep i'm not like little stumpy Warhol

Well done on your Fox Mike ..had 1 myself on Thursday after another had sat on the skyline for 10mins teasing me before moving off. Heard another calling just as i was about to move on,so back into the motor and set the caller away but a lot louder this time.5mins later i called in the neighbouring farmers son with his lamp n lurchers lol..to be honest it was nice to meet him as he'd given the heads up about the fox i'd just shot (he saw it night before)Lovely big Vixen in excellent condition...until the dogs had a play with it .. hence no picture That was no80 for me with my previous best being 46 last year...lots about this year for sure.

Stopped off at the shoot on my way home (after the bairn had gone to bed...bless him he's only little and can't do a full night any more ) 20mins of calling brought this fella out to see what all the noise was...

Where's the picture of the Dog Fox?....ya nasty little hobbit ya Don't forget to tell them about losing your Foxpro remote...you know the one that was around your neck that i told you about 3 times

Exiting 10mins,Rabbit Distress playing on the FoxPro and one turns up carrying a Rabbit but moves onto the wooded bank.Quick change to "pups" stops it but right behind a large fencepost...typical.It Quickly moved off but returned some 5mins later.As i was lining up the shot i saw another through the scope,it moved from left to right and this 1 was in the field.He went behind some rushes and my mate (spotting with thermal)directed me onto him....picked him up to see a 2nd behind him.Dropped the 1st (stumpy),2nd went 30yds left and duly stopped side on,dropped him too. Turns out these 2 were both big dog foxes and not the original fox i was about to shoot. Took another 45mins of calling but Dog Fox call brought the young Vixen(bottom in pic) onto the same wooded bank as previous and she was duly dropped too.

It was Mike..only did it as things were going too smoothly and it needed livening up a bit "cough cough" Anyway i should get lots of credit for the 1st 2 i shot as they were off Mark's HOBBIT sized sticks and i'm normal .... sized

Brand new Guide IR510-384 Thermal Imager. I bought 1 to try,thinking i could return it,but only got store credit.As there was nothing else in the store i wanted i got another sent out.As you can see,it hasn't even been opened.Selling as i would rather buy more NV. So £2,020 is the asking price posted RMSD,saving you over £200. This is a fantastic piece of kit,just i prefer my Archer so ideally would like another as a spotter with the extra magnification.

Better than the 1 i,m dealing with at the moment.. Bought a Nv but wasn't happy with it so sent it back got a full refund and was talked into buying a Thermal..had resisted 3 times before so should have stuck with my 1st thought. Thought ah well so long as they take them back i'll give it a try...now they won't refund - said i,ve broken the security seal (a sticker)so they can't resell as a new item.NV had the same sticker. I should have read the terms n conditions it seems but they have given me a credit note for £2,200..problem is they have nothing i want anyone want to buy a Guide 510 Thermal imager

Nicely done Mike/John ..shame about the 1 you missed,but you'll be used to it by now Having a good run myself lately with 11 in the last few weeks including 1 last night..just off to try a different IR on the camera system (cheers for the idea )

Too true, but unfortunately some that used to post here regularly,now don't because of what happened to Andy. And all over a nothing comment that was mean't tongue in cheek.
