The AA decoys turboflapper is a very effective piece of kit!

Your best bet is the clay club at Marne Barracks. Every other Sunday and every Wednesday afternoon. There are plenty there to give help and guidance. It is open to civilians. Explain to the guard at the gate that you are going to the clay club, carry identification eg driving licence and follow the signs into the training area.

Guys, Has anyone had problems with AA Decoys lately? I ordered a number of high value items last week but 8 days later nothing has arrived. I have not had an order confirmation and I have had no responses to emails. The phone number given on their site goes straight to answerphone. I believe this to be a reputable company but has anyone else had similar experiences lately? CB

Well done. Most I ever managed in NI was two in one day at Glenwherry. Never see them over here in the North of England.

In the late 70s I had permission to shoot on a belt of land between Belfast and Lisburn. Nothing much on it save an occasional snipe or crow but it was heaven to me. It was in view of the main Belfast Lisburn road. Occasionally a helicopter from Thiepval Barracks would show an interest. The drill was always the same. On seeing the helicopter approach I broke the shotgun and held it up to show the crew what it was. The helicopter would then disappear. Common sense applied by both parties and even despite the unusual circumstances prevailing at the time there was no unnecessary interference with a young lad pursuing his hobby. For any Belfast people reading, the bit of land is now McKinstry Road. McKinstry was the farmer who gave us permission.

Hello, A couple of friends and I (Service and ex Service) are seeking pigeon shooting (decoying and/or flighting) within striking distance of Catterick. I have looked at the Pest Rid and NPPC sites. Does anyone have experience of these clubs in the Catterick area? Realistically we could afford to join one but not both so we need to get the right one. We are available to shoot weekends and some week days with reasonable notice. Many thanks in anticipation CB
