Customers attitudes can really stink! In my line of work, it takes years to know exactly what to do and when to do it. I work as a full time pest controller BTW. Now and again, I'll get the same sort of response from a customer " £150, for catching a rat!! It only took you a day....... ". Well that's what I do, catch rats. I catch them quickly and effectively and that's why it's £150. That's why the drain guys charged what he did as well. I'm currently treating a young couples house. The house has had issues with rats for over ten years. The old owner botched around and never really got to the bottom of the problem. I set five traps yesterday and caught three rats today. I have established exactly what needs to be done to stop the rats (damaged sewer). Simple, and all for £140 with another visit to go. Now, to my mind, apart from having rats in their home and all the problems that brings (they needed a complete re-wire due to rodent damaged wires). Ten years worth of rat poison, costs more than £140. The guy who sorted your drains, was likely very proud that he did a good job for you and got it sorted out. Your attitude likely gutted him. Us little people who do these jobs, don't really get many perks and very little in the way of a thank you. So next time a trades man comes to your home, offer him/her a nice cuppa and when you pay them, pass over the payment with a nice smile, shake their hand and say "thanks for doing such a great job, and you did it so fast as well! Genuinely thanks!". I promise you, next time you call them out, you will reap the rewards and best of all it's cost nothing to be courteous and polite. John
  7. I have one in .308. Do I like it? Yup, very accurate indeed. Is it heavy, yup it's bloody heavy but the 20" barrel is great for woodland stalking and high seat work. The triggers are a massive improvement, all in all it's a very good rifle. John
  8. Most are serials........ I'm sure we'll know the plot tomorrow John
  9. Clays & Crows but even the crows are nesting. John
  10. It's illegal to poison rabbits and the landowners just have to be "seen" to be proactive. John
  11. NO!!! High seats for everything.... I'm saying that because I've just finished the last of five ready for open season next week As and 'aside' I've shot loads of bunnies from high seats. John
  12. Wanted 1" low profile Warne Weaver Scope Rings matte. John
  13. This will make a typical "Take-away" korma Rabbit or Chicken. Making actual curry takes no time at all, the time is taken making the basic curry sauce. First you need to make a basic curry sauce; Basic curry sauce: 450 g onions (Spanish) 25g fresh ginger 25g garlic 1ltr of water 1 tsp salt ¼ cup of vegetable oil 1 tsp tomato puree 1tsp turmeric 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp coriander powder 1 tsp cumin powder ½ tablespoon garam masala 1 tin of chopped tomatoes 25 g of creamed coconut 1 x green pepper Heat oil add onions, garlic, ginger and cook until onions are soft Add everything else and simmer for 1 hour, skimming off all the froth. Put the whole lot in to a blender and blend until perfectly smooth, its got to be perfectly smooth! 1 rabbit/chicken deboned and cubed 4 tbsp oil 3 cups of basic curry sauce ½ cup of ground mixed nuts (I use almonds and cashew nuts) Hand full of whole (shelled) cashew nuts 1 ½ tsp of salt (again I use sea salt) ½ tsp garam masala 1tsp ground cumin 150ml of thick double cream ½ tin of coconut milk 1 block of dried coconut ¼ tsp of yellow food colouring of you can use turmeric Fresh green coriander to garnish This is quick, which is why the take away can make so many curries in such a short time. Heat oil and fry off rabbit until cooked. Do not turn down heat, add curry sauce, bring to boil and add the rest of the ingredients EXCEPT the cream. Cook for 10 mins, turn heat down add the cream and cook for another 3 mins. Serve with boiled rice, but add to your rice 2 x bay leafs, salt and three cloves. John
  14. Up for sale is a Falcon Menace 10x42 scope with MP20 reticule(red/green). Scope is in excellent condition with box, sun shade, wheel and original flip-up scope caps. The quality of the optics is superb, better than my Zeiss conquest IMHO. 30mm tube. BC caps not inc. Scope rings not inc. The only marks on the scope are around the battery cover, which if I am to be honest is the reason and only reason I'm selling the scope, not enough room in my gun cabinet! SOLD PENDING John
  15. Bet your a ray of sunshine to do a deal with Buy cheap, buy twice. The kits are cheap for a reason Try buying a good quality one piece rod, it will last a life time John
  16. If your buying expanding ammunition (bullets) your deal needs to enter these on to your FAC as the bullets count towards maximum ammunition levels. However this is not true if your buying FMJ bullets. John
  17. You need an FAC to hold expanding ammunition and you can only hold expanding ammunition for the calibres stated on your FAC. You DO NOT need an FAC to hold FMJ bullets. You do have to present your FAC when buying primers. YOU DO NOT need and FAC to hold cases. There is some confusion over "primed cases" being classed as ammunition, however no FAC is needed for blanks (odd, as blanks have primers). I honestly don't think you have a lot to worry about. John
  18. Certainly could be, IIRC there were a load of BSA .310 cal Cadet rifles knocking about. Excellent page here : BSA .310 John
  19. The rings are "lube" rings, not gas rings. My guess it could have been from the Home guard who used all sorts of guns. I know of a small quarry that was used as a home guard rifle range, funny as it's only 50 yards in diameter I've found all sorts of bullets and cases in the quarry. John
  20. Could very well be a .31cal pistol bullet. I can see rifling groves. Have a search for Minie ball and see what you dig up (no pun intended). John
