  1. alot of the cheap magnets you see wont last 2 minutes, if your gooing to buy one get a good one or even better make your own for a fraction of the price, as for the battery i use a 17ah and can get a good 9 hours with hypaflaps, less if using real birds but should last for a session, a 33ah is a hefty battery to haul unless you can drive to where you shoot.
  2. Never bother with the magnet for crows but the flapper works a treat
  3. Standard Hypaflaps from Uk shootwharehouse about 40 quid a pair.
  4. haha the night vision is back on track fella, will be up and running for next week
  5. Thanks fellas, the magnet and arms where made by myself and a mate, easy to do and cost less than 15 quid.
  6. Went with a mate after work on some failed rape thats been sprayed off, set the magnet up with the hypaflaps and scattered a few decoys about in the flat patches, managed an over curious crow in the first 2 minutes didnt hold much hope out for any pigeons but managed to pull a steady few with the hypaflaps and had an enjoyable couple of hours, the hypaflaps looked fantastic skirting across the tops of the rape
  7. Your not doing your credibility any favours on the forum with blatant baiting posts that nobody cares about fella
  8. Cant believe nobody wants any of the bigger ones, great for if you can drive to where you shoot or just have in the truck for lamping or camping etc.
  9. Some good footage and excellent shots
  10. I agree, the whole licensing process needs a good overhaul as most of it is nonsence.
  11. im being pulled up for saying cheif of police and not chief constable i think you will find differant forces will say differant things, thats why i stated if your conditions say something like etc etc, as for not notifying the police how will you know for sure the land is passed without contacting them and getting the all clear, as stated land deemed suitable by the police not by joe bloggs who says its passed, always better to contact them and get the land put on your file, unless open ticket.
  12. Does seem a bit odd to have a .243 and not know where you can shoot it.
  13. Just look at the wording in your conditions, if it says something like for shooting vermin etc etc on land deemed suitable by the chief officer of police for the area the land is situated it is a closed ticket, if it says something like for shooting vermin etc etc on land the holder has lawful authority to shoot its open.
  14. Depends what your shooting, if shotgun or air rifle and your friend has permission to take a friend then your fine, if rimfire/centrefire and open ticket and your friend has permission to take a friend again fine but if you have a closed ticket then you need written permission from the land owner and clearance from the police to see if the land is passed for the calibre you are using.

  18. Went over to Tex's for a couple of hours with the HMR at teatime to keep knocking a dent in the rabbits, it was a nice warm evening to be out but it was hard going to spot them due to the grass and nettles growing like crazy over the last couple of weeks, did some nice headshots but then again had to as thats all we could see half the time, thats over 80 rabbits in the last month, the HMR really is a cracking bunny basher. Cheers Tex, see ya soon
