  1. if the car drivers paid more attention to road signs they would not get themselves in this situation, you know see the signs and still leave it to the last minute because they think they'll get further ahead in that lane because most other people have already moved across and then sit at the end of the road indicating so somebody will let them in. the fact that all the truckers are already over just states a fact that we are observing the road signs.
  2. unless there are restrictions in force like on some dual carriageways, there is no law and we are totally within our right to overtake another slower vehicle just like anybody else. Also because we can, and we know it winds all the car drivers up. Were the King of the roads don't you know. The whole country would grind to a halt without us. as to the idea to have it like Germany, I'm sure you'll all complain when the cost of everything goes up to cover the extra cost of all drivers/stores etc to operate at night.
  3. How many of you actually drive a lorry? from the responses i'd say none. if all car drivers had the driving ability of a lorry driver there would be far fewer accidents on the roads. There are people that can drive and there are people that CAN drive. And why oh why do we overtake other lorries on dual carriageways and motorways. Because a lot of new vehicles are limited to 50 52 or 55mph but some are not limited so can do 60mph which is the maximum speed for a vehicles of that size. so why would you expect us to sit behind another doing 50mph when I can do 55 or 60mph. if you've got a 300+mile journey to do it makes a huge difference.
  4. I'm off to the docs shortly for some antibiotics, bit four times few days ago. 1 on arm 3 on legs and swelling up nicely. was bit on hand last year and it was that swollen could hardly make a fist. mozzies never been bit including anything else but these things. would love to wipe the ******s out once and for all. hate the ******* things.
  5. sounds to me your doing what I was doing when I started last year. by any chance are you used to shooting rifles? if so your probably focusing on the rib/sight too much instead of the clay, and just before you pull the trigger you're momentarily flicking your sight from rib to clay to ensure you're on target, by doing this you don't realise you are stopping or slowing down the barrels. you need to focus on the clay more and not the rib. hope it helps.
  6. are you focusing on the rib/sight as you would a rifle instead of the clay? i was guilty of that when i first started with similar results to you. just a thought.
  7. you lucky *** that is a steal. i'm sure you'll enjoy it. was you mate rather drunk when he told you the price?
  8. i take it the farmer would know and be happy that you are making money using his land, the reason i say this i know somebody that sold pigeon days on his permission. anyway mr farmer found out and no longer has said permission.
  9. ive had a r10, lovely looking gun but too unreliable/problems etc. plus with scope quite heavy(not a problem for me but you sure know it if walking a distance) and with a mod very long. my dad has hw 100 which ive shot many times, only fault really is the weight, brilliant gun. i have the s410 superlight, which is very light very accurate( as is the hw100) and imho the best choice out of the three ( cheaper, lighter reliable ) although if cost dosent come into it and you can handle a heavy gun i'd say get the hw100 just on the basis it feels slightly more refined and solidly built.
  10. If you have no shooting friends why not offer a few of here to go out with you, you could end up with a new good friend and invites to their permissions. for for the money you would make just not worth it.
  11. where i work we have a weighbridge that the police have an a arangement with the company to use to weigh vehicles they believe are overloaded. and they pull over a fare few so your right to be checking, you never know especially if you say its going to sit lower on one end. something they look for. not sure if it applies to the vehicle(car) that will be towing your trailer but also need to check the axles on the prime mover are not overloaded. on another note you would not believe the amount of people that think you can load 7.5ton on a 7.5ton riged. crazy. i believe commercial vehicles can be fined up to £1000 per tonne, thats driver and company. private as been said 3points and £120 sound about right.
  12. ask permission to shoot those fields?
  13. told off for wearing camo gear? thats a new one. were they fasion police by any chance?

  18. here you go. plus at bottom of page will give insurance group two tab. http://www.carpages.co.uk/car-insurance-groups/group-1-1.asp plus when and if he gets his own insurance you can get black boxes that some insures will fit that monitor your sons driving and save you a small chunk of money.
  19. if your not confident on range finding you can practise anywhere and you will improve. what you can do is when your out and about (walking dog) pick an object in the distance guess the distance then pace it out. the more you do it the better you will get, also if shooting along hedge row with fencing you can use the fence posts to help you get the distance. ie. if fence posts are 5 yards apart and quarry is 7 posts along you can work it out from that. another way that i saw in a shooting mag was to attatch a target to a radio controlled car, send it out at random distances range find it then take the shot with air rifle, if your off target pace out the actual distance and learn from it. good luck.
  20. I never use a range finder ( don't own one ). However if shooting from a static position will pace out my maximum range normally no more than 45 yds and then leave markers at 30 and 20 yds. Am more than capable to range find by sight if on the move but when static for the sake of 30 40 seconds time it saves a possible error on range resulting in a miss or injurerd quarry.
  21. For that money you could get a decent secondhand lanber which is a solid and reliable gun. Can't fault mine. Ory if you fancy a new gun could get a hatsan escort semi auto. Or winchester sxp which is a pump action. And also the gun I'm looking at getting.
