Yes - its great ! I have had the opportunity to do it on a fairly large scale as I have clear felled approx. 40 acres. The large grass fields - monoculture - I had I have split up with hedges and cover strips - and put splashes in the corner of fields After 3 or 4 years things are starting to thrive but the real thinking and moto is every little helps ! All our shoots can keep the feeders topped up after the end of the season and beyond for little extra cost and provide a real boost to wild birds. Seize the day and be a doer not a watcher or a talker ! Trust me you will enjoy the results !

Hi Lloyd I have just done something similar on clear fell Plant native - best4hedging RSPB ultimate mix is coming great after 2/3 years - it flowers and fruits and provides cover I have made spinneys, shelter belts and a new wood. I have cleared areas on the clear fell and planted game crops - stuff that' flowers and seeds for insects and other birds - something like Kings Moir Mix Loads more wildlife about and its holding the birds like a magnet Corn costs have halved too Last thing - if you create a splash / wet area in the clear fell they will reward ten fold !
