  1. Glueing flooring to joists is standard practice on new build these days. We have to use the D4 glue which expands like a foam and fills any gaps as well as sticking the boards down. We don't get squeaky floors any more but if you have to take any up for plumbers or sparks its a bloody nightmare.
  2. Antigua is our favourite beach/chill-out holiday. Its the most laid back place I've ever been, the local folks are friendly and great fun. Anywhere in Florida is tops for a more active holiday. I'm planning on hiring a bike and riding coast to coast in a couple of years to explore more of the US. Thats been on my bucket list for years
  3. If you're going to the warehouse they have a lot more kit than just their own label now . Some is utterly **** but theres some ok kit too. They have more than just carp tackle too.
  4. Thanks folks Welshwarrior you have a pm
  5. Can anyone recommend a gun fitter in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire or South Yorkshire please.
  6. Any idea which type of release aid he wants? Wrist release, thumb release, back tension (unlikely), there are quite a few types out there. If you're buying new most of the archery shops will offer you advice on these. Custom built archery is the one most geared towards compound shooters but Bowsports, Chiltern archery etc. will all have a good selection.
  7. Good shooting that, it's hard enough to maintain accuracy on static targets never mind fast moving birds. Meat damage will be minimal as they use rubber blunts on the arrows for this kind of bowhunting. The birds are literally knocked out of the sky with the impact, only occasionally would an arrow point pass through a blunt (the blunt would have to have been used many times and worn).
  8. Wow, a few timing issues there . Still you gotta start from somewhere.
  9. Thats a good bag of greys there bud, Good shooting
  10. Feed him to Ted Nugent I say, (That interview was funny) I'm sure uncleTed could find Pierce a nice comfy spot in the grounds of his ranch somewhere :-)
  11. Some good eating there bud, nice shooting.
  12. Slight advantage over the 22 due to the flatter flight of the pellet and hits harder than a 177 while retaining some of the penetration of the 177. 177 still has the flattest trejectory though. Theres less choice of pellets in .20 so that puts some off. For shooting in the field all callibres have a compramise somewhere so dont get too hung up on the best callibre debate just shoot what you enjoy is my thinking
  13. Managed a walk out with the .20 cal this morning, managed a small bag with one tree rat and a black and white pynot 😊
  14. Derbyshire. Certificate arrived today, 8 weeks in total, now the mission starts to find the right gun 😊
  15. ******.... I'm on holidays from the 26th May. Oh well maybe next year then.
  16. Have you passed the driving test? All these questions should have been covered during your driving lessons if you had a driving instructor worth his pay.
  17. Your books are on your account so you should just be able to downed them direct from the web onto your new device.
  18. Interview today, all's well so just the wait for the certificate to turn up in the post now.
  19. Got the interview on 10th February, Soon be sorted with any luck.
  20. What I don't understand is why do the powers that be find it acceptable and even encourage the change to halal meat/produce. It seems to be to please a minority religion, but what about other minority religions that cannot accept halal food. Sikh's for example cannot take food dedicated to any god/deity, Jews cannot accept halal slaughtered meat (ok it's the same precess but a different dedication). Then theres people that find the method of slaughter offensive so don't want any part of it. And finally theres people like me who don't want any part of any religion and won't fund, wherever possible, any of them. Now taking all that into account it is an absolute must that all products produced in accordance with any religion should be labeled as such, as I said in an earlier post. The move with school and work canteens becoming halal only is quite frankly disgraceful, I don't object to giving people a halal choice, or a kosha choice just like they give a vegetarian choice, the point is giving people a choice, and the information to make that choice.
  21. No the problem is I'm not informed so I can make a choice. If persil etc tell me that they will donate "x" if I buy "Y" then I'm informed and make my choice. I don't care who the charity is or what the religion is I do care that I am given the choice. Is the morality of robbery more acceptable? Charity is a donation given by choice not lifted from my pocket on the quiet like a cheap pickpocket!
  22. To pay the Zakat, one must be a Muslim, sane adult, in possession of thenisab (the minimum amount of wealth that one must have before zakat is payable) for one whole year. I'm not muslim and find great offence in the fact that I'm being unscrupulously forced to make a donation when purchasing items from a supermarket etc. I wonder how much of the above quoted donations to charity have been added to by the covert collection of funds in this way.
  23. Theres a lot more than this thats been gently pushed upon us in a very quiet manner. Our kids are the ones that will suffer in the future if things continue along the current path without change. It takes very little time to research these things, and once you realise just how our leaders are failing our nation,,,,, well make your own mind up.
  24. Any product carrying these marks (there are many others also) pay the Zekat to those authorities, paying for their continued certification under islamic law. The cost of that will obviously be passed on to joe public, the vast majority know nothing about it but even if they see the stamps they buy the product because they don't think it affects them. These funds directly finance the building of mosques as well as help raise funds for many muslim projects. Not all of these projects or recipients are publicised in any way which make you wonder what they're hiding. You don't know about this because it isn't something that is generally publicised in our society, probably because Patriotic Englishmen might make a fuss, we wouldn't want that in our nice multicultural society now would we? I mean the very though that an Englishman having any freedom of speech and freedom of choice is against everything the governments of the last 40 years have worked so hard for. Research it for yourself and you'll find the truth, It isn't hard to find. I'm not going to tell you categorically this is true or thats a lie, people need to research and make up their own minds. I've found a great many hidden truths over the last few years that are quite shocking, completely undermines the very values that our country and society was built upon, I could just be paranoid I guess.
