  1. This might be it. Ask me the general questions that would be asked on a visit but at the station. Should they be happy come and visit to see my safe and hand me the SGC there and then as if they would if I hadn't got my safe in place on the first visit.
  2. I suppose it does make sense as it doesn't waste the time of the FEO coming to me and wasting fuel when I could just go to them. Roll on Wednesday at 10am next week. Tbh i'm not worried as I've disclosed everything and never had a criminal record so fingers crossed it all goes well!
  3. Well I rang the police and apparently its a suitability interview and that the home visit comes later. All procedure so they say. Matt
  4. Nope no fibs at all, after all they're going to find out either way! And yes its a first time grant. Matt
  5. I joked about this with the Mrs! Luckily I've been a good boy and never had a criminal record/any previous offences. Matt
  6. Hi All. After putting my shotgun application on 10th Jan I finally received a phone call today regarding an interview. The thing I don't understand is they want me to go into Mansfield Police station for the interview. How are they going to check my gun safe etc this way? Is this a bad thing im being called into the police station for the interview? Im worried now! ATB Matt
  7. Well thats different! Lol Im a HUB Planner for a company that work for DHL M+S. I have to plan around 300 agency HGV drivers across 11 sites around the UK. DHL have their own employed drivers and we fill in the gaps with agency drivers. Only been doing it for 5 months but absolutely love it! Before that I was a driver for Enterprise Rent a Car for 2.5 years and before that an apprentice electrician before I was made reduntant and couldn't finish my apprenticeship off.
  8. I think I can see what your trying to say 17hmr. I've got permission but its from my partners grandparents so slightly different and more of a house with 17 acres. Id never take anyone up there. If you insist on written confirmation could you not write that its for that date and that date only. I think people are scared your going to poach peoples permission and I know how hard some people work to get it. If it has a date on for that date only its not like your being given permission to shoot there whenever you want. End of the day though I suppose you must respect the person who has the permission and their wishes. If they want it done their way you have no choice but to agree if you'd like to shoot their land. ATB Matt
  9. Id stick with the Landy, they're the daddy of offroading! My mrs grandad has a 03 plate disco and I remember one year we were about 3 feet in snow and snowed in were we lived with my mrs grandparents. We needed to get out and went out in the disco, it was like the snow wasn't even there! No slipping, no sliding, no nothing!
  10. You'd be surprised! I saw a video of CCTV footage of some guys breaking into a BMW and programming a blank key up from the ECU and then were away with the car. The more sophisticated the cars get the more sophisticated the criminals get!
  11. If you ring to hire one they wont hire unless you have a license and adequate training. Yet you can walk straight into B&Q and buy one no questions asked.
  12. Good read. Its like that poor buck had met his maker and was happy to be put out of his suffering. Good job you was there to put him out his misery
  13. Thanks for the tip mate ill definitely use it!
  14. Welcome to the forum. Seems you could bring a wealth of experience to the forum to help out us less experienced guys (myself included) ATB Matt
  15. Nice one. Im yet to bag a rabbit. There's a few up at my partners grandparents (they have 17 acres to shoot over) but I mainly go up there in the day to shoot the squirrels and woodies that scare the song birds away.
  16. To put you in perspective my first car 7 years ago now was a 1.2 Renault Clio. That cost £1700 to insure fully comprehensive. Its about 3x that now for young newly passed drivers! So much affects insurance. I moved house to a nicer area with gated access to the estate and it went up, work that one out!
  17. Nice. Why do I look at this stuff I feel all horrible now. If the chainsaw to the head wasn't bad enough the foot has put me off for the rest of the day! I remember watching a video of people jumping off a really high wall into the sea. One guy slipped before he jumped and went head first into a concrete ledge next to the see some 20ft down and split his face in two. Needless to say I passed out not once but TWICE after seeing it!! im not good with grusome stuff!
  18. Depends on age and how long you've had your license for. Im guessing as its yiur first car you've not had your license long. Best thing to do is go on a comparison website and do some quotes as if you own that car.
  19. http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/250903-where-to-shoot-a-pigeon-shot-placement-warning-bit-gorey-but-informative/ I think this might be the thread malkiserow was talking about
  20. I personally like to play safe and always go for a headshot. As pigeons have large and thick breast tissue its harder for a pellet to penetrate and strike the heart/lungs. Not saying it cant be done, just needs a really well placed shot
  21. Rang today and my application has only just been allocated to the Sargent. I spoke to her and she told me to expect at least another 2 month wait. That will take it to 15 weeks for a visit from a FEO
  22. Turns out there was nothing wrong at all although im still in for a big wait. The Sargent has said due to cut backs she's lost members of staff combined with a back log of applications and renewals (obviously renewals taking priority over applications) im to expect at least another 2 months wait! Oh well time to wait some more! My application was put in on 10th Jan so its going to be at least 15 weeks or so before I even get an interview, got to love Nottinghamshire Police
