  1. He's only out there to do a trade deal to replenish Donalds stock of.....
  2. I had a Maverick in 1994, same vehicle... the only fault was a rattley timing chain. I foolishly took it into a waterlogged field once up to the axles when lamping.. I thought it was a tow out job but the low range got me out no trouble at all.
  3. I've just asked our aged decorator at work.......... and he said; quote..........." you shouldn't be so bloody lazy and clean it next time.." or " you could try tipping a whole tin of water based nitromors into the paint tin cover it with a plastic bag and forget about it for a month . " He said it wont get it out but might teach you not to waste good money in the future..
  4. Here's one for you then... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAF3fWo8aoM That person of diminutive stature used to scare me ****less when I was a lad.. Does anyone remember Gigantor too. ?
  5. Try brushing off a small area, clean down with sugar soap solution and paint one sealing coat 1 full coat trade emulsion and see what happens.
  6. In Norfolk they had Muffin the Mule... Now illegal of course. !
  7. That's a ******. I can sympathise I had some early 19th century ones made by a company in Stroud cast Iron stamped Hooper and dated 1856...as far as I am aware they were unique...or at least as rare as rocking horse droppings. ! they were stolen along with all my fishing tackle in a burglary in 1994. Stickmakers might find this interesting scroll down to 1996 and click on topic 35-41 http://www.gsia.org.uk/reprints/index.php
  8. Not necessarily ...it will need to be washed off of any powder residue and sealed with a water based sealer before overcoating. I recommend you speak to Farrow and Ball technical... and explain your dilemma.. They have always been extremely helpful to me in in the past and have never tried the hard sell.. customer.services@farrow-ball.com What part of the country are you in. ?
  9. Do you know if the F&B emulsion was a lime wash, or distemper or one of their other products. ? Proper trade matt emulsions are all breathable, which is why they are always specified for new plaster work to allow it to fully cure. In the past on many National Trust and Listed properties where we have renovated and painted exposed stonework similarly, we have just had the local decorators centre mix up a breathable trade emulsion to the " designer paint " colour ...about £25 - 30 for 5 litres. We have a traditional decorator on the books who specialises in lime washes, conservation works and decorating, is 74 and has been doing it since he was 14 ! I will ask him what he recommends...he's bound to have come across this situation before. !
  10. Yes he can. ! Spot on And Chippy Mintons Son ?
  11. OK here's one for you.. who narrated the Trumpton, Camberwick Green and Chigley childrens programmes in the 60's ? and what was the name of the carpenter Chippy Mintons apprentice son in Trumpton ? No Cheating now. !!
  12. Fair enough I will remember that in future.

Blimey...I got as far as item 3 and then gave up... thanks anyway. That lots more onerous than the NEC3 suite of building contacts and they are bad enough. Obviously structured so that the average consumer gets bored and gives up. More money for the lawyers though

Do you mean vendor ? How do you prove that something is faulty or not fit for purpose should you have enjoyed more than 6 months use of it. i.e. the period after which the onus is on the customer to prove the item was faulty if they want a repair or replacement, and which the vendor can refuse to do so. Not trying to be confrontational just interested to know After 6 months I was under the impression the law on guarantees and the obligations of vendor and purchaser became quite tenuous so I would suggest the Manufacturers warranty should be more favourable in this case ?
  19. V Interesting.. I believe plenty of woodpigeon have been ringed in Scandinavia, particularly Finland and also NE Europe since the 70's... These do turn up in France, Spain and Portugal but very rarely in GB it seems. So it would seem to suggest that GB is not a destination for the Northern woodpigeon from the colder parts. Flocks of birds as small as 100 redwings can be picked out on modern radar equipment these days but as far as I'm aware no records of the influx of Thousands of Pigeons from the continent (which would probably look like the Luftwaffe on the screen. ) have been disclosed. Sedentary pigeons in GB have been increasing in numbers year on year since the 70's whereas in some parts of Europe there has shown a decline.
  20. Quite.. Trump might try and quell the drugs cartels operations but we are talking of a illicit industry worth billion of dollars. The DEA have been powerless to stop them even with military help. Even Jack Ryan couldn't do it.. Once the Barons get a sniff ( excuse the pun) of any wall who knows what might happen...
  21. I would say that 95% of their food comes from the garden bird table or surrounding garden or that of my neighbours. I would suspect this bird has never seen a rape field nor will the offspring. I would be surprised if they wandered too far either I admire your wife.

With respect, and for the reason of avoiding being lambasted by other forum members for posting without checking the facts first..my post is based on what the CAB told me earlier. We are talking about Guarantees and warranties here and not contracts of invitation to treat aren't we. If an item breaks down after 6 months how do you prove to the vendor it wasn't fit for purpose in order to get a refund or a replacement ?
