if these ventilators are not up to approval i hope they are not being paid for this needs investigation

Really? Had they been needed then they will have been tested and used, you cant just make things for the NHS and expect them to go straight into use.

hello, i have just seen a report on south bbc where another company is making more ventilators, will they be not required ??

There are people all over making bits, I've got mates making things in Blackpool,  I've no idea what, one lad said he was furloughed but others are working on ventilator parts

Because they've only had a few thousand deaths

    That'll be why then.

I've just had a look at the published figures, there are certainly some strange one, I just don't think some places must be testing or reporting the deaths.

And now a further excuse for avoiding public scrutiny that is long overdue by now saying he'll miss today's PMQs.

And? He's had a new baby,  I'm pretty sure anyone would want to spend time with their new born and wife.

    What's he going to miss?

I had looked at a few sets of figures and they all appeared to have slight differences. But they all showed Belgium at the top

And yet I've not heard Belgium mentioned  on the news? Spain and Italy yes, but never a thing about Belgium.

In one respect, an equally large threat to the UK as this virus seems to be the rift that has developed between England and Scotland

The rift has been caused by the SNP and the above mentioned lady wanting independence despite failing once.

It seems they simply want to disagree with the government at any opportunity,  it would be very interesting to see if they said they were relaxing or tightening the lockdown in Scotland.

    Would the government allow it?

Would the Scots do as she said or say no ?

Fit is important, there can be NO gaps or the particles can get in. I would ask anyone if they would be happy to remove asbestos wearing that mask then it would probably be ok for close contact with virus carriers.

I've seen several people while we have been out walking or shopping with masks covering their mouth but not the nose! I've seen scarves and snoods worn and people constantly pulling them up and fiddling with them! I'm more likely to catch this if I am not careful with hand hygiene and touch my face.

It makes you cringe doesn't it,  I can understand wearing gloves, if your hand is going towards your face then the colour will hopefully stop you.

The vast number of people with badly fitted masks is unbelievable,  the minute you put a mask on if it's a single use your likely to be pulling at it and its getting moist, how long and how many times are people using them?

I can see the merit if you had to use public transport, but again how long are people wearing them?

  7. I took a picture of some cygnets on their nest last year, there were 6 or 7 very large birds piled on top of each other, the beauty of the picture was that the nest was within poking distance of the footpath but no one had touched it.

let’s see to slow to close our borders to slow to lock down lack of ppe and ventilators yep lifting restrictions to soon is obviously the next fatal mistake waiting to happen madness!

Has there been any cases of there not being available ventilators? According to the briefing today we are sending them to other countries that need them.

Everyone in the world wants the ppe.

They messed up not locking down sooner because they tried treating people like they were intelligent.

After reading all the blurb concerning the Hades I doubt that you need to modify your Rifle at all - if the reviews are true then the Hades will drop an Oxon cleanly at 200 yards fired from the posterior of a flatulent Umpa Lumpa.

I was watching a few rat shooting videos and the fella is using Hades in .22, we all know a head shot from pretty much anything kills a rat, but what the fella says time and again in his videos is they make a different noise on impact and seem to make a real mess of the rats with excess bleeding compared to other pellets.

The problem is it's under shrubs and coming through gravel and the membrane,is this just a North Norfolk

    weed?

We get bits of it along the edge of the drive and some in the garden, it gets pulled or mowed but thankfully doesn't seem to spread.

Something i have noticed different this year is  that there more herring gulls in the countryside at this time . Over and around gardens and surrounding fields. Sometimes all day and even coming to have a look when i am outside. Could this be down to CV19? Not so many folk about in towns dumping takeaways etc? Have heard they have been getting leverets to. Saw two mobbing a buzzard the other day. One got above it and tried/did carp on it.  . . . . This rain most welcome! Garden smells great.       NB

The numbers that are allowed to be culled was reduced this year, the likes of MacD are shut so they can't scavenge as normal.

This article should have included Gulls as well.

But right now, still can't afford it. 60,000 cash on deposit for a bond to bring the wife, the cash purchase price of a house, the cost of moving, etc.etc. A long way to yet....

Must be something I don't understand,  you rent a house, is the bond not returnable?

And how about Labour? I've honestly no idea where the money is coming from to have vast numbers sat at home on 80% pay, but if it means we come out of this situation and there aren't hundreds of thousands dead as first predictions said then it's worth while.

I think the financial support the government are providing across the board is truly phenomenal.

Have to agree, although I'm sure it will take years to pay back.

But the funny thing is, as I was reading your reply I thought Mr doom and gloom won't agree, and in the following post 🤣🤣🤣

Amazing really. A whole forest of magic money trees suddenly sprouting from nowhere.

So what would suggest the government do?

I'm not gloomy at all. My portfolio has gone up 40% in the last 5 weeks!

But I'll guarantee that if it had been a Labour government giving money away to my colleagues (see my other post) there'd be a terrible wailing and gnashing of teeth on these boards. :)

40% is great, so you could sell up and move back, but I doubt you will.

And how do you think Labour would have managed the current situation better?

  15. They were talking about it on This Morning,  20-30 kids affected,  Dr Ranj said he had spoken to friends in Spain who had seen similar there.

But they don't know yet what it is.

What does "dies on the front line' mean? Does it mean that you had to be working with Covid-19 patients or only that you work for the NHS? I know a few NHS people who don't go anywhere near patients.

Watching the briefing it was if they died from covid 19, so caught it doing their job, 88 so far I think they said.

Its obviously something that wasn't there before and has to help give some piece of mind.

People are starting to tire of the lockdown , and have begun to stretch the rules already.

So the pragmatic view would be to start to slowly ease the lockdown soon, even if it is too early and accept a higher risk than the general population saying "F^&% it !" and the authorities losing all control .

The thing is look at Japan,  they have had a second spike after relaxing their restrictions which makes the first lockdown almost pointless.

I don't think the likes of b&q opening is a bad thing, lots of people are at home so might as well be doing DIY and keeping busy.

I don't think people will think 🏐🏀 to this, they've stu k it out this long.

Just seen a Tory MP on the telly saying businesses should think about how they can reopen while maintaining social distancing. Yes, they could always have done this but there does seem to be a push now.

I don't think the government ever expected so many businesses to close and furlough all their staff, I'm sure many companies could re open, or have carried on with limited staff.

Northwest news has just said that Airbus are planning to furlough 3000 staff, so slowing down and looking at job losses.

And don't there singing and the dawn chorus seem louder/clearer with less back ground noise and cleaner air. Maybe you had a insect or caterpillar hatch.     NB

Just watched the weather and it looks like the south should get a good few hours tomorrow.

Your right about the chorus, I was up just after 5 this morning and they were in full flow.

This is what was strange they didn't seem to be feeding,  our Goldfinch's and Greenfinchs were on the sunflower hearts and zipping about but everything else just seemed to be there for the sake of it, I had the big binoculars out enjoying looking at them but couldn't see any reason for the gathering.

    Ain't nature great.

Every where so dry and wildlife still struggling

Lucky where we are as there is a small river,  but like you say some rain would be nice.

I'm not sure why but there were loads of birds in or around our garden, it was like a meeting had been called, some were feeding most were just in the trees singing.
