Oh the old RACIST VIRUS stupidity raises its ugly head again.

When will someone complain that this Covid 19 virus is sexist and ageist too?

That's because man flu has always been deadly 😜

It has been brought up a few times, gives the journalists something to snipe about, the virus is the problem and its effecting everyone.

  2. ###The need to keep social distancing in place will put an upper limit on class sizes, she said.

She said: “So if it’s the case that we need to keep kids in school two metres apart from each other then that will put an upper limit on how many people can be in a classroom.

“So do we have to take classes divide them into two, where half of the class is there one week, the other half the other week or one half in the morning and the afternoon?#####

Not sure how schools could do the 2mtr distance, kids want to play and interact

It would be nice for families to be able to see each other again,  talking to my mate last night, neither of us know of any family members affected by the virus, were both following the rules and simply avoiding folk when out shopping. But something will have to give at some point.

You would struggle to notice many of the effects of lockdown in vast areas of New Zealand. Neither would it have had anything like the financial impact its having here.

I understand it's a small population in a big area spread out.

But there still has to be a financial impact,  if people aren't going out they aren't working.

The politicians all taking a 20% wage cut is a nice touch.

New Zealand could be in lockdown for a year and it wouldn’t see any impact anyway. It’s at the **** end of the world, few international travellers and it’s economy is a few sheep.

    Sounds ideal about now.

  4. I agree that the price increases on the PPE they want is wrong, but as others have said on other threads, they charge a lot of money for their services.  Their not NHS their mostly privately ran businesses.

Love it !!!   I have five set ups I cannot get to at the moment and I bet they have emptied the feeders.  Frustrating to say the least.  It will be interesting to see how it knocks our annual total.

I'm expecting my feeder to have been eaten,  I've been driving past woods I should be in going to work, watching them getting greener, going to be hard work now finding the dreys.

Personally I think there will be a lot less aircraft flying, a lot less pilots needed and flying for holidays will be reserved for those with lots of cash.

It had gone mad in the run up to Covid19.

Well I've just paid my 12 month pitch fee for the caravan,  I can see these being really popular this year. If we are allowed to go?

People will complain that the rich should pay more tax. Just by the very nature at lets say a 30% tax rate (remember NI is bundled in) with a £10K tax allowance - somebody earning £20K will bay £3k tax, while somebody earning £100k will pay £27k

    Just some flat figures

    That's far to simple.

The number came out at something like £130k for a 2 parent, 2 child household. He surmised that, anything over and above that amount was pure luxury and should be taxed accordingly.

I understand what your saying but I'd love to know where he got £130k from, I'd need another 3 or 4 jobs and more hours in the week.

We should coin a phrase for the gun buying equivalent of a tyre kicker.

    Stock knocker?

Just as annoying is collection only, but they don't say where, and haven't got it on their profile,  prompting "where are you"

    On the case

Thanks for all the replys, things are in motion but slow due to this outbreak.

Its probably worth putting cameras up outside even if they are just dummies, let them know your filming them, it might stop some of the behaviour.

Now my question is, if the risk was blatantly obvious to anyone then why did he attend.

Or is he just another hindsight expert looking to blame Boris for everything.

2 mins of fame no doubt, 3000 fans from Spain shouldn't have been allowed to travel from somewhere that was obviously having problems.

But he definitely didn't have to go.

Apart now from having my son's rifle not working to return to him, the magpies now seem to realise it's safe to be in the garden again - I can't have that!

Not sure what to do with the rifle so hoping for some inspiration from the experts. Please help.

    Thanks in advance, John

Don't mess simply own up, if it's the sear then it would have gone anyway.

My old fella did this many moons ago, double loaded my rapid, panicked a bit thinking I'd be fuming, so our kid took the mod off and the barrel,  rounded a grub screw.

Better to just say it ain't working than make it worse.

Perhaps its too much to ask for, but it might be a good time for the press to put aside its stance politically and work for the greater good. No one wants a controlled press but winding their neck in and getting their sums right once in a wile might be a way to helping all including their own popularity.

It would be nice wouldn't it,  someone else mentioned watching the daily brief then switching off as the journalists all ask the same questions, that's what I'm now doing.

The local news ( north west for me) have been much better showing anything that is likely to raise spirits.

The social media can be excused as its the public  like you and me behind a keyboard,  and although we have responsibilities and should act accordingly. but the press they are or are supposed to be Professionals. They really need to try harder.

It's still politics and point scoring though, that's the problem.

hello, maybe face masks but cannot see it required in head masks and gowns, these companies offered with enough time to get approval so leave our NHS hospital low on PPE then decide to buy abroad, how many face masks/ head masks/gowns are being made by UK citizens like mel and lin, MAD 1 and Conner still going to hospitals and care workers etc and not approved is it better to have some type of PPE than empty shelves in their stores

I agree it's better to have something than nothing, and it's great that people are making things for others but The controlling bodies unions etc would go mental if NHS staff were using under par equipment,  same as they will if staff run out.

hello, just watched bbc 2 news, seems quite a few uk companies making or selling PPE contacted the government including matt hancock directly to help the NHS but this was never taken up, that i find APPALLING !!!!!!

It was on the news last night, saying the government had had absolutely loads of offers of ppe, and were in contact with 150 ish who could deliver big numbers.

I know BAE at Samlesbury have made 120,000 plus face shields and have been sending them around the area.

There were also a few companies on saying they had begun making things but heard nothing back, they could sell them to care homes, some are selling them abroad

Part of the problem is the spec, if someone uses PPE which is not up to standard and gets ill they will then look to sue someone,  there could be thousands effected.
