  1. Nice bags! Ive been doing alot of walking around the village where I live in the last couple weeks, it's not just the numbers but the size of some of the grey's I've been seeing are huge.
  2. I think somewhere I've got some surplus mess tins, I was planning on using them for food. I've seen the ration packs with the boil in the bag stuff in about. What he actually wants to do is shoot a rabbit and cook it up lol I haven't seen so many since the weather has turned though. We've got plenty of wood to burn as we have a small strip of trees, only about 20ft across but about 100yrs long so there's a fair bit of dry dead fall etc.
  3. He's taken a while to come around to it, at first he had no interest when I asked him if he wanted to go out with the gun, or have a wander in the woods but as he's seen me do it and talk to him about what I've done while he's not been here he can't wait to get out now. I'm going to pick up a kettle so hopefully in the summer we can stick a tarp up and camp out properly, he'd do it tonight if I'd let him lol. I will give the crook knife a look too, thanks. I don't mind investing a bit in tools as I go along, I've got a few sharpening bits I've collected over the last year so keeping them sharp shouldn't be a problem. I've a few bits of scrap wood from the trees we've had down in the last year or so, so I'll get practicing, if the results aren't to horrendous I'll post a pic 👍 Thanks again for the advice.
  4. So you really could stick a container in your back garden lol.
  5. Wow, thanks for the detailed reply! I'll definitely give the YouTube channel a look. What started it was my little boy, he's taken a real interest in Bushcraft lately, which I think is great because he's not interested in xbox or telly anymore, he wants to go and make a camp and light a fire with a steel etc so I've been looking into bushcraft activities. I did have a brief look on Google last night before I posted on here, I have a hand axe, and also a mora but I couldn't tell you which model, was hoping to just need a gouge to carve the bowl lol. I'll give the websites you mentioned a look and see what I can come up with. Thanks again 👍
  6. Thank you, I think the tools on there might be a bit fiddly, but then again they might be good as I wouldn't be able to take too much off at a time.
  7. Find the one that fits, handle and shoot as many as you can, it won't matter whether you spend £300 or £3000 if it doesn't fit you'll always struggle to get on with it.
  8. With a bit of luck it will produce some good numbers then, just have to be patient and see what comes of it. I'll be happy if I can pull 19 off it 😂
  9. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced set for the novice? I'm wanting to have a goo at making wooden spoons and having a play with wood working in general. I've had a look on the bay, I don't want to spend a fortune but equally would like something that isn't going to fall apart the first time I use it 😂
  10. Ive got a fair few baikals and s+b spare in my collection but I've yet too shoot one lol I think I'm subconsciously avoiding it
  11. 😂 Theres a couple nice boxes there 👍
  12. Thanks MM, I haven't seen the farmer to speak to lately so I'm not 100% sure what's gone in on my biggest perm, they've only done two so far, the rest is still stubble, I'll make sure to report if I do get any good days though 👍
  13. It's funny though isn't it, cause as ticket holders if one of us posted something like that on social media the boys in blue would be round in no time. It's clearly acceptable otherwise.
  14. Thank you both, whatever happens ill go out and give it a go when they do come up. Theres still a few birds about round here wandering round on the stubbles but I can't imagine theres much left to eat now, last two I've had the crops have been full of holly berries.
  15. They look good at that price
  16. Rats are not ideal but I suppose they will provide a bit of shooting, will have to keep them away from the house anyway lol If the deer are going to pay it some attention maybe its time to apply for that FAC
  17. My old man's had more Tr7's than I can count, cant remember the last one I saw on the road. The last two he ran was a hard top with the rover 3.5 v8, then a soft top with same v8 transplanted in it. Now that made a good noise.
  18. Whatever happens I'm in for a wait then 😂 Thanks for sharing that with me though 👍
  19. Ohh OK, the way he was talking it was going in as soon as the ground was dry enough, everything bar 2 fields on mine are still stubble at the moment.
  20. Found out today that my nearest perm is going to have sugar beet, bit sure when it's going in as I was told the ground is too wet, anyone had any good days over it? Do the pige like it?
  21. In all seriousness, unless they gave a proper deadline, like two years id struggle to get through what I've got at my current rate 😂
  22. So are we all going to push for a cartridge buy back when they finally ban lead?
  23. Precisely, I absolutely love driving it, wouldn't hesitate buying another.
