Mrs Sweepy
Had a fantastic day It rained as we arrived. Just long enough to fizz my hair(i could not find hat). So had to put up with Sweepy calling me the wild women of wonga all day. First and only injury of the day was me trying to put my waterproof leggings on. Wont tell what i did but boy did it hurt for the rest of the day. In all we had five guns, Four beaters and three dogs, Springer, clumber and the Chesapeake(beauiful looking dog) Like i have said in the past we are not a big shoot. It just somthing Sweepy and a good farmer friend of ares have set up over the last five years. Each year they put down birds . And then we have these little informal shoots amongest friends and famliy. Follow by good food and drink back at the farmhouse. Kindly provided by the farmers wife. Anyway back too the shoot First drive we did was the one i always hate. its though a little woody area not far from the farmyard. If you or the dog are going to get cut and bashed about its always in this bit it is so thick you have to battle though it . And you can soon lose your bearings. Plus the dogs always come out looking like black labs But on saying that its a good place for the birds. I think its the case of them thinking .No bloody fool going to come though here.disturbing us. We manage to get four or five birds up. Guns hit one.Think they must have been to busy admiring each others nice shiny guns(we had alot of that yesterday . Holding them up looking down barrels imaginary shooting something out of the sky  )Men and thier toys. Next drive bought nothing up. The farmers notice the birds are staying high in the trees (fox) Third drive was the best of the day for me . I had a close experience of the furry kind. The game cover was over six feet tall and thick . Cant for the life of me remember what it was but it look like Sweetcorn. Anyway its always my job and Sammy to fight are way right though the middle of it. Anyone whos done this will know its not a easy task. And you are soon parted from your dog. As you are fighting your way though you can always hear the dogs working so you know they not far. Yesterday i had manage to reach the center where the crop was thinner . And was just standing their getting my bearing. I could hear the dogs working and their was a good sound of gunfire going off in the next field so i knew things where good, All of the sudden their was movment near to me . Thinking it was one of the dogs i turn round. Only to see the outline of this figure the size of the pony coming towards me. I think for a spilt second. What the **** went though my mind. Before it bushed passed me not given me a second glance. It was a Roe deer. And it left me with memory i shell never forget. This is why i so love beating you really do get to see the countryside that no nature programe on the telly can give you. When i manage to fight my way though to the otherside. the guns where busy comparing their game.(made a change from guns) In all they had got a bird each so they where happy. The next four drives where basically the same. Sammy proved me wrong and did a fantastic retrieve (so like you Deeks am a happy lady) Retrieveing is not sammys (clumber) thing. But going on point is  If he knows their a bird somewhere in the thicket. You will not move him . Untill his has that bird up. its like his frozen in time At the end of the shoot we manage to get 11 birds in all two pigeons and one partridge. We put some down but like all partridges they have ****** off. And after a good morning shoot. Its nice to sit down too a hot meal of Venison stew, Sausage and mash, follow by Apple crumble, And as much wine as you can drink. And to recount on the mornings events. Right now for confession It was not only my hat i forget. I also forgot the Camera too . O know i hear you all cry. But fear not Sweepy saved the day. And let me loose with his Blueberry, rasberry, God i dont know what its called. And so i was able to take some piccys with that(well i think i did anyway) And once i can remove it long enough from his ears. I shell download them on to here.(ok i tell a porky. I will get my boys too download them for me) :o So their you go for those of you who have mange to wade all the way though my foolish drivel. Thank you. And heres to the next one xxxx stiff and full of aches but a happy Suzy

Mrs Sweepy
Right now for those piccys i promise you all. Now dont go falling of your chairs in all the excitment. I think Sweepys going to have to give me a few lessons in taken piccys on his gooseberry Am not used to holding such Hi tech equipment in my hand. Without moving it up and down. And while waving a stick at the same time. So here gos Before my little mishap. Just look at those lovely clean dogs I often wonder what the thing on the back of the car was for. The next pic is a bit fuzzy(bit like my hair was) You may just notice the gun on the peg in the left hand corner. If You have really good eyesight you will also notice he has his back to me. This is not the first time on a shoot that i have got lost And now i shell show you what its like to be a beater on a shoot Its not just the stroll in the park. We actually have to earn are lunch unlike those guns
Mrs Sweepy
Imagine having to fight your way though this lot. Its a hard life being a beater. But i enjoy every bump fall and cut.
