There's a small clay shoot held Nr Emsworth on the 3rd Sunday of every month. The next one being this comming weekend the 15th.

Its nothing special, its about £11 for 40 sporting clays. I will be there about 12.00 if anyone fancies meeting up for a brew and a laugh (at my expense  )

See you there. Nick Chappel is bringing his 10 bore auto and some factory lead loads just for a bit of practice. He`s just come back from Jockland and could`nt hit a barn door with it.

I`ll try and round up some of this years new members to make up the numbers.

 Irl bring 2 sets of ear defenders then

I should have my newly altered O/U back sat

Don't bring any ''snipers'' with you :good::yes::lol:

Chris

Pity it's the 3rd Sunday, that conflicts with Hensting Lane which is, IMHO, a great shoot, fun and challenging, £14 for 50. Regardless, would be interested in an 'oggy meet up sometime in the new Year, unfortunately I work a lot of Sundays; anyone know of any mid week shooting locally?

Wow - that's a blast from the past for me. I grew up in Waterlooville and used to shoot at this site 20 years ago or more. I also used to shoot air rifles at the field target club which met in the adjacent gravel pit.

I hope illegal scramblers are not as much of a problem as they used to be. A pal of mine was lining up on a bolting rabbit clay along at this shoot once, when a kid on a scrambling bike rode along the other side of the boundary fence at the same speed as the clay, a couple of yards from the clay !

Glad the shoot is still going & I wish you all good shooting.

Yeah

Details please :yes::no:

Id be up for a meet in the new year :D

Take the Botley - Winchester road and at the Fishers Pond pub turn east onto Hensting Lane. Go about a mile then take a (signposted) track to the left. This wanders on for over a mile, FWD useful but not essential, until you come to a field car park at the top of the hill. Enter the wood and search for the hut! Most stands are in the wood looking out over farmland in all directions. Again, it's a search for all 9 stands, there's little in the way of signs.

Wellies nearly always essential and better to have used the loo at home! There are refreshments available. Usually a good variety of birds and rabbits, not too challenging but not too easy.

May well be there Sunday 20th as have wangled day off. :(

It would appear that Wallers Ash is the only ground open on 27th, not tried it before but I'll be there.

Chalky Hill was STUNNING in the snow & brilliant sunchine last Sunday. Thank God for an ancient Land Rover, the back lanes past Arlesford were ice rinks!

And a Hoggy Christmas to all our readers.

Old thread I know but does anyone know if this still is run? Can't find any info

I haven't been since this thread and I Dont think it will.open again. It was always plagued by antis moaning to the council about noisy gunfire ruining the Sunday afternoon and had closed a few times before this.

On a positive there is a small straw bailer in Gosport every 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month and also fareham clay club with different dates. These are the ones we use now.
