BBC SE coverage - online help wanted

Greetings all,

I wonder if you might help us out by having a look at a piece on the BBC for us - and perhaps adding an online comment.

The background is a regional SE news documentary to air tonight at 7.30 in the South East about young people and shotgun licences.

BASC has been helping out with the piece, which features a young girl who shoots alongside her father and with BASC young shots. BBC Sussex online has put up a comments section, which includes one D. Bachelor of the League Against Cruel Sports.

Have a look.

BBC Sussex

Regards,

Simon Clarke

The LACS really need to get with the times don't they? Many parents would be horrified at the thought of their children handling guns? It is because they are uneducated and listen to the drivel that organisations like LACS spout.

I have sent a comment but as it says the BBC have the right to edit then I don't suppose they will put up my comments on the LACS although they were blunt they were to the point

Well done BASC yet again.

The film sequences shown on Newsround were fine - in fact, better than fine as the young lassie showed up shooting in a very good light.

The presenter, on the other hand, by the tone of voice in which she commented and asked the question, was a typical example of BBC bias.

Most of the comments on the "adult" website were very pro-shooting and anti-LACS. Unfortunately most of the comments from kids on the Newsround website were anti-shooting, or at least anti-shooting birds and animals.

We need to do much more to get our information into schools to counter the vile poison that is pumped into them by PETA and their fellow-travellers.

I agree with Eric's take on Newsround.

The full item, which aired across the SE can be viewed here

Thanks to all who posted - LACS didn't seem to get into the game.

There's a good full-page piece on shooting in the Times today as well (p.19) "Shooters give elitist image both barrels"

the online version isn't as nicely laid out but is split into three:

Times 1

Times 2

Times 3
