al4x
I had one for a few years was ok, agricultural but did 70 fine, never got near 30mpg they have a great reputation which is just as well when you want to flog a rusty one its not hard and that is their biggest downfall

crazyfarmerboy
and if you can find an older one with a DL-50 engine it is cog driven so no cam belt to snap, very hard to fine a non rusty one though as they are 1985 - 1989 ish, awesome engines that tank on for ever, my land rover will be running the DL-50 2.8td soon
al4x
wouldn't quite call them awesome engines they are even more agricultural but they do last far longer than landrover ones :o Its the only diesel I've known to be able to get home after being filled with petrol
Windy
picked up a '94 Indy model (F78) back in the summer. Bit of rust in one sill and one wheel arch. Other than that pretty tidy. 125k on the clock, 12mths MOT. Edited December 17, 2009 by Windy
Zapp
I've got a M reg fourtrak and I love it. Agricultural and prone to rust, but strong as hell, reliable, and only gets stuck when I decide to do something stupid in it. ZB
Windy
my Trak has been awesome in the several inches of snow we've had in east suffolk tonight. £900 very well spent. my town is pretty much cut off to all but 4x4s.
hookbones
i loved mine.. had 2x and 3 sportraks.. the last 4trak was a 1989(F) 2.8TD monster,4" lift rancho pack, snorkle, fabricated external cage ,31-10.5-15 grizzly tyres with radar reflect dmp camo paint. paid next to nothin for it n ran it for 25000 miles without the slightest problem... everyone called it `THE DEVICE` .Got a crazy offer for it n regreted selling it ever since Spotracks are great to lamp out of with the bolt off roof n intergrated padded rifle rest/roll bar but its alot of vehicle for the 1.6i lump so on motorways tend to overheat <i fitted a twin kenlow fan and had no prob after> i was looking for another as a dog wagon but wussed out n got a rav4 cos of the high mileage i was doing
Sprocket
Brilliant bits of kit -mine did 209,000mls -didn't use a drop of oil, I needed a bigger car so sold it to a mate of mine who's over the moon with it. Only slight concern was lack of ground clearance (Independant model) -but there again, the only time I got stuck was on a ploughed fied when I stopped to answer the phone - what a Pri--!
