Lloyd90
Anyone know how much it would be to put down a concrete base 2metres by 2 metres ? Cheers
Beretta28g
depends on thickness, what you want it for and the mix you use. Beretta

Lloyd90
Um It would be for a dog run, got the panel's already. How thick would it need to be ?
MC
Between 4 and 6 inches, depending on what hardcore you have underneath it. For that sort of size you would be better off doing it yourself unless you know a local jobbing builder looking for a bit of cash.
Lloyd90
Underneath is like compounded earth, It used to be the drive way but is now covered in chippings. I was going to scrape away the chippings and dig down about 4" then, I dont want it sticking up in the air. Prob line the outskirts with Wood and then tip the cement in. Just wondering how much It would cost
Fisherman Mike
100 mm. 4 ins thick on a level base of compacted subsoil. Assuming where its going is reasonably firm ground. As its light weight. You could use 50 mm slabs on a hardcore base in which case you would need 13 slabs ( including Cutting Including waste you would need .40m3 of Concrete or if you mix it yourself a 1 tonne dumpy bag of all in aggregate which will be about 45 sovs and three bags of cement which will be about 15 sovs at the builders merchants. If not firm ground you will need 100mm of hardcore which would be another 0.4 m3 or 0.80 tonnes. You will have some aggregate left over but this is the cheapest way to buy it. Mix ratio of 1 part cement to 6 parts aggregate should be fine, dont make it too wet. Hope this helps.

Just wondering how much It would cost you're better having it slightly above ground level so it doesn't get covered in water, couple of inches should be fine. As said find a mixer to borrow one dumpy and a few bags of cement and job done.
pegleg31
make sure you put a slight fall on your base for the water to run off.mines level as **** and its like an ice rink at the moment still i did it so there's only me to blame
pyr8
get a price of the mini mix firms, you virtually pay by the barrow.
pete k
please be aware that if you use the wrong mix the **** and poo from the dogs will cause the concrete to flake off, speak to a local concrete firm and they will supply you the right mix for this,
hitfreshairagain
also worth mentioning to put a sheet of damp proof ploythene underneath.stop the damp coming up.
