if i was you i'd contact all the free papers in the area and let them know so they can pass on any information.take leaflets offering a good reward to all the vets, petshops in and around surrounding area's.also try and find as many shoot's as possible and let them know.i know the end of the season is nearly on us but they'll be roost shooting for a bit.the more people that know about the pup the harder it will be to get rid of.

good luck in getting him back :good::yes:

Hate to hear of dogs being stolen and hope you get the pup back again.

I believe most gundogs are stolen to order, either for breeding purposes by the unscrupulous or to be sold on as shooting dogs and bought by the unwary.

They could turn up at shoot days with their new master and no one is any the wiser. If we chipped all our dogs we still have to rely on any dog found being scanned for the chip by the finders ie police etc. Scanners are not hard to come by and organisers of driven shoots for example could insist that all dogs working on their shoots be chipped. Any dog not known to that shoot could be scanned by the shoot to ensure a match between owner and dog. I wonder how many dogs would be reunited with their proper owners if this were the case and would it reduce the number of thefts of good gundogs if the market was limited somewhat. We could go a long way to policing this ourselves within organised shoots at least.

Hope this give some food for thought because stealing someones dog is as low as we can get.

Makes my blood boil when I hear of things like this happening and Mec 9000 has made a good point.

Surely any of us in the shooting community would not buy a pup like that without seeing any papers or docking certificate etc. I know I would be very suspicious if offered such a dog!

I am only 5 miles from Chorley and will keep an eye out but chances are that it will be well out of the area by know.

Hope you get it back mate!

this seems to be getting a common problem..i belong to a working cocker site and there has been a few postings of thefts

one story tells of the dogs being stolen just after thier walk whilst thier food was being prepared .

it takes these scum seconds to break in and pinch the pups

I really do hope you get him back..

Good on you Tony Armstrong & BFG for keeping an eye out. So sorry to hear about your pup. The scrotes have no idea of the pain they cause and don't care. Really hope this one has a happy ending. A lad down the road got his back after a year of it missing. Apparently it was handed in to Battersea dogs home where they "Ask no questions", micro chip checked, original owner called...and Brian was re-united with his dog. Don't give up hope.

I know its not a good thing to encourage them but it seems they wait forthe reward offered signs then myseriously find your dog. Its worth putting a few up to draw them out.

Wouldn't any of us love 5 minutes on our own with them and a large baseball bat!

Best of luck to you.

Thanks guys.

I had noticed this one and spoke to owner (undercover style) . They had pedigree and more importantly a video of them getting the pup at 8 weeks.

I feel bad about thinking the worse of anyone selling a pup, but can't help it.

Still no news
