DSPUK
I have been through most of the posts but didn't see any ref to the squadding arrangements -- Just to make it exciting how about all names go into a hat and draw for squads - first eight out squadded -next eight etc - that would mix us up and give us a chance to meet others rather that have little cliques of shooters going round. - Now I can see some objections to this from softies but us men could take the challenge. beretta
why not 4 from north and 4 from south
Chard
why not 4 from north and 4 from south Makes sense to me. That way we still have a chance of shooting with 3 other humans
webber
I read that members would be squaded up into groups of 8 on arrival and accompanied by a member of the Hodnet team who would score etc. I have put a team of friends together, Team Norgas, thus far there are 6 of us, so room for 2 more, we really would like to shoot as a group. I'm quite sure that there will be plenty of time to put faces to names, shake hands, blow noses and wipe eyes, buy raffle tickets, and packets of tissues to wipe eyes and blow noses. I'm really looking forward to Hodnet; if ever there was an event where it matters not who wins this is it! We are there to enjoy god shooting in good company and raise some funds for charity. Just as long as the North wins and wipes the eyes of the Southern Shandy Swillers. Don't forget your tissues on sale on the big day. webber

Dave Good idea. why not 4 from north and 4 from south Good Idea. Based on DSPUK's idea there good be a north hat, and a south hat and 4 names are drawn from each. Should ensure a good mix. It's meant to be the meet of the century, not shooting with your normal mates. Unless i'm reading your post wrong? Anyway, i'm always happy to be squaded with my mates but in the spirit of the event i'd like to go round with some new faces.

ME
We still have 2 and a bit months yet. If I receive all the cheques promised we will be touching 70 shooters already and that is increasing by the day. Let's not start talking about who is shooting with who quite yet. The squad numbers will vary depending on the final number of shooters. I estimate somewhere between 6 and 8 people in a squad but until we stop taking payments it is impossible to say (and that will be early/mid May). webber
* Start shooting at 10am * Squads of around 8 people will be arranged as people turn up, there will be NO waiting around as this high quality ground is not open to the public. * Each squad will have their own guide and scorer - whose decision is final webber

MC
I thought the whole point of the day was to meet up and meet people you normally only talk to in cyberspace. If we are going to shoot in squads with all our mates we came with we may as well go to our local grounds. I think 2 hats, a baseball cap for the southerners and a flat cap (or a paper bag if a hat is too expensive) :good: for the northerners. Draw 4 out of each and that are the squads.
