How far would you go?

I have recently gained another new permission totalling about 1000 acres, one of the rules is no driving on the tram lines or around the edges, problem is that the farmer has 4 fields of rape in at the moment and the two that the pigeons are hitting most are about 1.5 miles end to end so to get to the otherside you have to walk as it`s also surrounded by other fields, the reason i say is that if i setup by the woods where the road is and the pigeons drop from they goto the far side of the field and feed on that treeline, but a 3 mile walk across a field to place a banger rope seems abit much to me or am i just expecting things too easy?? How far would you go??

bicycle an option? If there is a farm track on one side of the field a bike leaves no traces so he should be reasonable about it for getting your gear out. Even if it cuts the distance in half you're better off.

That said, I'd walk a mile and a half. Just make sure you've got your gear in order and well packed so you don't have to do it twice. We used to walk that or more in the US for deer hunting.

Thanks,

Rick

i wouldnt walk 3 miles to put a banger rope out.my advice would be to find your spot as close as you feel comfortable walking, then ask some one else if they fancy a days shooting, but explain its a 1 and half mile walk, they ll bite your hand off,and you keep birds in air between you, sorted.:rolleyes:

And the winner is.....

Stroke of cunning genious that, so cunning you could pin a tail on it and call it a weasel.

I will be posting a shooting available post very soon for the Canterbury area.
